Celebrations in Mönchengladbach
A beer garden on the Niers, a hall on the Abteiberg or the living room in Giesenkirchen: every place colours the sound, and I shape my proposal around it. In Mönchengladbach your birthday could be held in an Art Nouveau building, by the Niers or in an event venue in the old town. I will briefly introduce five places where birthdays are possible.
Whether you celebrate in Mönchengladbach in a beer garden on the Niers, in an Art Nouveau hall or in your parents' garden house: I set speakers and levels differently depending on the venue. Please tell me first where you are celebrating before we plan further.
At home in the living room or on the terrace I hardly need any space, a small battery-powered set is enough. We discuss beforehand where the socket and a free wall are, and after about 40 minutes my set-up is ready.
Besides the Kaisersaal there is a beer garden, a garden and a vaulted cellar; the operator lists seven rooms for 10 to 350 people. Whether your birthday is possible there is something you clarify with the venue. For a milestone party we adjust the set and the volume to your number of guests and your room.
According to the operator, the balcony hall on the upper floor is intended for private celebrations of 80 to 180 people and has a balcony. The building also has an imperial beer garden. The venue can tell you which rooms are free for your birthday; private individuals enquire online.
A dining room, a dance floor with lighting and a sound system, and a large outdoor area are available for birthdays. You can book just the rooms or add catering from the venue. As the location has its own sound system, ask first whether your own DJ set is allowed.
In the historic industrial building you sit between brick walls under high ceilings, and in good weather the terrace on the Niers beckons. The operator accepts event enquiries. The venue will tell you how many guests there is room for, and after that I decide where my set goes.
The lecture hall and classroom can be hired for private occasions, and the café and terrace are available for catering. Because of its open architecture, the museum asks for precise coordination beforehand. You check with the museum whether your birthday fits there, and I take care of the technology afterwards.

With your booking you get my mobile number, because many things are settled fastest via WhatsApp. About a week beforehand, we go through requested songs, no-gos and schedule.
I arrive before your guests, set up the equipment in about 40 minutes and do the sound check. Open questions we clear up with you or the venue, so that everything runs smoothly later.
On arrival, subtle lounge music plays so that your guests get into conversation. For you as the birthday guest and for special moments I choose the fitting track.
The programme gets its own music: it stays quiet during the meal, there is the microphone for speeches, and for games, surprises and cake I find suitable tracks.
As soon as people start dancing, I take over completely, read the mood and adapt the set to the guests until the last song has faded.

Setup takes a good 40 minutes, the system needs about 2.5 by 1.5 metres of space, and I clear up myself after the party. About 2.5 m width and 1.5 m depth are enough for that, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
You can add lighting, photo station, live music and audio guest book, and I handle the coordination.

+49 176 700 580 27To start I pick sing-along classics that both camps know, then I switch back and forth between stadium anthems, party hits and chart songs. You enter your requests and no-gos beforehand, so nothing plays that you do not like.
A small set is enough for the garden, which I run on battery if necessary. Send me photos, and I can tell in advance where there is power and a shady spot for my equipment.
Gladly: for the pictures we pick songs together from the years in which they were taken, and afterwards I lead the guests back onto the dance floor with the mix. How long the show should run is up to you, and I build the transitions.
Weekends in the holidays fill up quickly, so write to me as soon as you know your date. For small groups I can usually find time at short notice too, and I answer you within a day.
That works, on request I arrange musicians from my network who join my mix. You decide the moment of the performance, and I plan the rest of the evening around it.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
