Celebrating in Münster
Whether castle cellar, tropical hall or a house on the harbour basin: each of these rooms carries music differently, and I build my proposal for your party around that. Here I show you five places in Münster, from the castle cellar to the harbour terrace, so you can see how different your celebration can sound.
Your birthday in Münster can take place in a castle cellar, a hall at the zoo or at the harbour; depending on the room, I set the speakers and levels anew. First tell me where you are inviting people.
For an apartment or the garden I bring a slim set, which if in doubt also runs on battery. We discuss space and power source by phone beforehand, so nothing has to be improvised on the evening.
The moated castle in Kinderhaus lists private parties in the castle cellar among its occasions; it has been a hotel with a restaurant since 1955. For a birthday among a smaller group, we clarify space and power with the venue beforehand.
The Hafenkäserei rents out its rooms for small celebrations with close family and friends as well as for big parties; there is a terrace in front of the building. We discuss how your party is split between indoors and outdoors before I position speakers and lights.
The zoo explicitly mentions birthdays, including milestone ones such as the 30th, 40th and 50th, as well as anniversaries, and has nine event locations for 20 to 200 guests. The Meranti hall is its tropical hall; I ask you early about guest numbers and schedule.
The zoo restaurant is also one of the places the zoo lists for celebrations. We agree with the venue where people eat and where they dance, and then I tailor the volume and setup accordingly.
The design hotel on the Promenade lists salons, a library and the RECKOS restaurant for celebrations and festive dinners. A reception for your birthday with quiet music fits well here, and we coordinate the transition into the party with the venue.

Who I am
You're celebrating in Münster, where university friends, colleagues and family often share one table, and that is exactly what I build the evening around. I've seen dance floors fill up and fall flat at over 1,450 events, at family parties as well as company evenings. Instead of a fixed list, the evening grows out of what your guests respond to in the moment, with my own edits of classics and current tracks.
What absolutely has to play and what never should, you tell me beforehand, so you can enjoy the evening yourself. If you like, I will sketch the rough course of the evening for you before the party.
How it works
A date and a venue are enough to start; I reply the same day or the next. A video call follows, then the arrangements with the venue, and on the day itself the setup.
Request a dateAfter your inquiry it takes one day at most until you hear from me. In a short video call you tell me about your birthday, then you receive your offer.
Once you book, you get my mobile number, because WhatsApp is the shortest line. About a week before the party, we talk through requested songs, no-gos and the schedule.
Before your guests arrive, I am in the room, set up the equipment in about 40 minutes and do the sound check. We clarify open questions with you or the venue so that everything runs unobtrusively later.
Subtle lounge music plays as guests arrive, so they can settle into conversation. For you as the birthday guest of honour and for special moments, I pick the right track.
I give the programme of the evening the right sound: music for dinner, a microphone for speeches and announcements, fitting pieces for games, surprises and the cutting of the cake.
Once the dance floor is open, I take over completely, read the mood and shape the set around your guests until the last song plays.

Your set only takes shape on the night and grows with the mood. Tracks from several decades bring even those onto the floor who only wanted to watch at first. A kitchen, a cellar or a backyard is enough for me, since I carry my compact setup in myself. If there's a slideshow or a speech, I pull the music back right away.

Current hits and classics from many decades sit side by side in my sets, and I listen to your requested tracks beforehand.
Setup takes around 40 minutes, the equipment takes up about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and I tidy up myself after the party. About 2.5 m width and 1.5 m depth are enough for that, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
You can add lighting, photo station, live music and audio guest book, and I coordinate everything.

Here is what hosts usually ask me before booking, and for anything else you can simply call me.
+49 176 700 580 27I build the evening in stages: first the tracks everyone sings along to, then I gradually move closer to what you like to hear. If there is a track you do not want to hear, tell me beforehand and it is dropped from the list.
My slim set needs only about 2.5 x 1.5 metres of space and can run on a battery if necessary. Send me a photo of the room and I will know in advance where the speakers go.
I place the highlights so that most people are still there for them, and let the evening wind down more quietly afterwards. Tell me when the first guests have to leave, and the peak moves forward in the plan.
You are my only contact, and we write on WhatsApp or talk by phone when he is not around. You choose the song for his entrance in advance, and I build the moment around it.
Send me your preferred date, and the same or the next day you will know whether it is free. For Saturdays in spring and summer it pays to write as early as possible, while small parties can often be planned at shorter notice.

First I need the day, the place and a rough number of guests, then you tell me which songs have accompanied you. If spontaneous requests come from your group during the evening, I am happy to pick them up.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
