Company parties in Oberhausen
A wide hall, a palace ballroom or a foyer by the canal: I set up the sound differently for each of these rooms in Oberhausen. That is why I first ask about the program and the number of guests. Five venues between Neue Mitte and the canal bank show how different your company evening can turn out: as a gala, as a reception or as a summer party by the water.
In Oberhausen the range runs from a hall in Neue Mitte via a factory site behind the main station and a palace hall to a venue on the canal. How much sound is needed depends on room size and number of guests, so I ask about both first.
A wide hall demands attention to reverberation, a palace hall to the routes your guests take between reception and dance floor. Which programme items run in which order we record in the briefing; setting up and mounting my equipment is down to me.
The former gasholder is 117.5 metres high and has been an exhibition hall in the Neue Mitte on the Rhine-Herne Canal since 1994. Whether and under what conditions the hall can be used for a company party, please ask the operator; we clarify the technical requirements afterwards.
On the grounds of the former zinc factory, the venue rents out the Schlosserei for up to 200 people and the Eisenlager for up to 250 seated guests. Company presentations, congresses and trade fairs are mentioned; catering, decoration and technical crew are provided by the venue itself. Which equipment we may bring, you clarify in advance with the Zentrum.
The hall of the Congress Centrum mentions seminars, trade fairs, concerts, balls and galas. The rooms include the Berlin, London and Paris halls, a main foyer, a bistro and a conservatory. Which room suits your program and how many guests fit in, the venue can tell you.
The Graf-Westerholt-Saal in the side wing of the palace seats up to 120 guests; together with the Prinzensaal it is up to 220 people, which the venue cites for conferences and company parties. For a reception before the meal, we talk with you about routes and space for the equipment.
The Bootshaus by the canal mentions company parties and Christmas parties; inside there is room for up to 160 people, with outdoor area and two terraces up to 400. Guest parking is free of charge. For an outdoor summer party, we discuss power, weather protection and routes for the equipment; whether an external DJ is possible, ask the venue.

Who I am
I know the dramaturgy of every company party in Oberhausen: reception, buffet, awards, dancing. I build the music around exactly these stations and agree with you in the preliminary talk when speeches are due and when the volume may rise.
If shift teams and administration sit at the same table, I plan the evening so that late arrivals still find atmosphere. I bring my system including wireless microphones; setup and sound check are part of the job. If an in-house technician looks after the hall, I coordinate with them in advance.

From the soul of the seventies to today's charts, we agree your programme in advance, and I join the styles into a whole.
Setup takes around 40 minutes and needs about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and after the last track I clear everything away again. About 2.5 m width and 1.5 m depth are enough for that, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

I start with tracks that support conversation, so your colleagues can greet each other first. Only when the room fills up do I raise the energy.
I lower the music on your cue and fade it back in gently after each award. That way your guests experience an evening that no pause tears apart.
My standard system supplies celebrations of up to 150 guests without outside help. For larger groups I work with a technology partner whom you will meet in good time.
Until your date we usually need four to eight weeks for arrangements and planning. If your party falls in peak season or is a large event, enquire earlier; I will reply to you within a day.
Yes. Have the apprentices note down their favorite tracks and send me the collection; I'll check what suits the occasion and the audience.

Transparency
An evening made up only of Ballermann and schlager hits is not my programme. A few sing-along classics go down well at any company party, but for me they are an extra, nothing more. Nor do I offer techno that leaves the guests out, request lists that are worked through rigidly, or festival formats with several stages. If that's what you're looking for, you're better off with colleagues who specialise in it.
I mix live for guests who expect an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, more than pressing play. That is why I tell you in advance what I don't do, so that you aren't disappointed on the night.
If that doesn't suit your event, I'm not the right DJ, and that's perfectly fine. If it does, we'll sort out everything else together.
