Michael Zimmermann at the mixing desk at a wedding celebration in Dresden

Wedding DJ Dresden · Events since 2004

Your wedding day in Dresden: music with character, mixed for your guests.

My name is Michael Zimmermann, and for your wedding in Dresden I put the music together, from the sparkling wine reception to the last dance. Over 25 years of experience and more than 1,450 events stand behind me, including over 650 weddings. In a city that has won back its baroque stone by stone, the sound system should never push itself forward: your day carries the celebration, not my desk. beats per micha: Michael Zimmermann, wedding DJ, available in Dresden and the surrounding area.

Wedding venues in Dresden

Weddings in Dresden.

An Elbe palace with a terrace, a ballroom and a wine cellar each sound different; that is why I first ask about the room, the number of guests and the space for the dance floor. I will introduce five addresses: the three Elbe palaces on the slope above the river, a ballroom on the Weißer Hirsch and a winery in Radebeul, and for each one I plan the setup and schedule together with you.

Elbe palace, ballroom or winery: a wedding in Dresden

Dresden offers you plenty for your wedding day: palaces on the Elbe slope, a ballroom on the Weißer Hirsch and a winery in Radebeul just beyond the city limits. Baroque halls and open terraces sound different, so I adjust speakers, placement and schedule accordingly.

If Dresden means something for your story, whether as the place you studied or the city where you first met, I will work in a fitting song at the moment it touches your guests the most. I start setting up early so that the sound is ready before the first guests arrive.

Schloss Albrechtsberg

Bautzner Straße 130, Dresden

Prince Albrecht of Prussia had the palace built in the late Neoclassical style. The operator's website lists weddings as an occasion and offers the whole palace, the lower and the upper floor for hire. Which space suits your guest count, you clarify with the venue; after that I align cable routes and speakers.

Lingnerschloss

Elbhang, Loschwitz, Dresden

The Lingnerschloss was built between 1850 and 1853 for the von Stockhausen family. The venue's page lists weddings as well as meetings and celebrations, naming the festival hall, the Lingner salon, the beletage and the cinema hall. Which room suits you, you find out from the venue; where people dance and where they just chat, we then decide together.

Schloss Eckberg

Bautzner Straße 134, Dresden

Schloss Eckberg stands high above the Elbe in an expansive park and lists weddings, anniversaries and receptions, plus historic rooms and halls and a terrace. If you celebrate outdoors, the sound depends on the area and the wind, and we will discuss this question in advance.

Parkhotel Dresden

Bautzner Landstraße 7, Weißer Hirsch, Dresden

The venue on the Weißer Hirsch lists weddings among its occasions and presents three rooms: the Great Ballroom, the Blue Salon and the Kakadu Bar. In a ballroom the dance floor belongs in the middle; how the tables are arranged, we will discuss before the celebration.

Schloss Wackerbarth

Wackerbarthstraße 1, Radebeul

The winery in Radebeul describes itself as Europe's first experience winery, produced Saxony's first sparkling wine in 1836 and offers weddings, family celebrations and event rooms for hire. Whether you celebrate indoors or hold the reception outside is decided by the technical setup, and we plan that in advance.

I took the rooms and occasions from the operators' websites and from Wikipedia, as of October 2026. Whether your date is free and how many guests fit in, you clarify directly with the respective venue.

Civil ceremony in Dresden

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

How your wedding in Dresden sounds is up to you, and I make it happen. It began with evenings in a nightclub, later came private and corporate celebrations, and more than 650 of my over 1,450 events were weddings.

There is no fixed track list with me; I set the order according to what is happening at your tables. Custom edits blend decades into one another so that grandparents, friends and colleagues can dance together without a break. In the end, your guests should say: that is exactly how we wanted to celebrate.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Dresden.

Send me a message and I will reply within a day; after that come the video call, a conversation with the venue and the choice of your opening dance.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

Send me the date and venue as soon as both are settled; I reply the same day, within 24 hours at the latest. In the video call there is no sales pressure, just getting to know each other, ideas and then your offer.

  2. Booking & portal access

With the booking, the wedding portal opens up for you. In the web app you enter special moments, no-gos, favourite songs and the schedule, and about a week before the celebration we talk on the phone and go through everything.

  3. Set-up & sound check

While you are getting ready, I am already at the venue. Setup takes about 40 minutes, but I arrive well ahead of time, check the sound, discuss the details with the speaker and the photographer, and keep the equipment unobtrusive.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit, I use music to set the mood. For the reception afterwards, subtle lounge music plays, and the equipment is planned so that everything works outdoors too.

  5. Dinner & programme items

During the meal I provide a calm soundtrack. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and games, surprises and the bouquet toss each get the right music.

  6. Opening dance & party

With your chosen edit you open the dance, and then the party begins. I watch the floor, adapt the set live and keep all generations moving until the end.

Everything behind
the mix

At my weddings, soul classics and current chart hits play on the same evening, because your tables usually seat several generations. From the first contact to the last song, the music is in one pair of hands.

Which track comes next, I decide by the mood in the room; the microphone belongs to speeches and programme items.

LED uplights colour the room in your chosen colour, and over the course of the evening the light moves with the music.

Equipment that doesn't stand out

My equipment: two wireless microphones, lighting effects, a Pioneer or Denon desk and speakers from RCF or Electro-Voice.

On the retro telephone your guests record their congratulations, and after the celebration I cut an audio file from the recordings for you.

One fixed contact person

I reply to your enquiry within 24 hours, and we stay in close contact until your wedding day.

An evening that is planned beforehand

We clarify requests and no-gos in the initial conversation, after which I coordinate the details with your venue and the other suppliers.

Music genres

Whether disco classics, the nineties or today's chart hits: what plays next is decided by the guests on the floor and not by a ready-made list.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

I arrive in good time before the start, set everything up calmly, check the sound and clear up myself after the celebration. For this about 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes about 40 minutes.

Symbolic wedding ceremony

I accompany a civil ceremony under the open sky with music for the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit; I set up the equipment so that it does not stand out.

Optional: extras

Anyone who wants a photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book together gets everything from one source, and I take care of the coordination.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Dresden want to know.

These are the questions I hear from couples most often, and if yours isn't there, just get in touch with me directly.

We are getting married in Dresden at one of the Elbe palaces on the hillside: does the terrain matter for the music?

Yes, on a slope the placement matters to me. I aim the speakers at the area where you will actually be celebrating and check the sound beforehand. How you split the evening between terrace and hall, we will discuss in the video call.

We would like something baroque for the entrance, perhaps Handel or Vivaldi: is that possible?

That works: give me the title, and I will find a clean recording of it. I will shorten it to the length of your entrance so nobody has to rush. Whether it also accompanies your opening dance later is something we decide together.

Our friends work in the semiconductor industry, our relatives come from the countryside: how do you bring both sides onto one dance floor?

I start with tracks that nobody objects to, and I pick up the tempo once the floor is filled. Your shared favourite song gets the spot where it has the most impact. Tracks that must never be played go on your do-not-play list beforehand.

We are celebrating outdoors in a park in June: what happens if it rains?

Then we move, which is why I ask in advance about a dry fallback room. My equipment is quickly ready in either case, and your music stays the same. If you plan with a marquee from the start, please send me the dimensions.

When should we ask you about a September date?

September Saturdays are popular for weddings, so it is best to get in touch half a year ahead. Short notice only works if your day is still free, and I will tell you that within 24 hours.

We are celebrating in a listed hall: do we need to keep anything in mind?

First ask the venue where stands, cables and speakers may go, because protected floors and walls often set limits. I then work with mobile stands and lay cables so that nothing gets damaged. For up to 150 guests, the standard system I bring along is enough.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you would like live music at the reception or the ceremony, I bring in sax, vocals, percussion or violin from my network. We will talk about when the performance works best well before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone with the aperitif gives the reception a soft opening, especially when dusk slowly begins to fall outside.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

Percussion after dessert drives the beat forward, and the dance floor fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

With live vocals your wedding takes on something of a concert evening, and in the party phase your guests sing along at the microphone.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin accompanies your entrance with a solemn sound and gives the meal that follows the feel of a gala evening.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

Party classics like Ballermann, après-ski and schlager hits?
I'm happy to play the odd one of those when the mood is right.
Building the whole evening on them, though, isn't for me.

There are other DJs who love doing exactly that, and do it well.
They are the right choice for it.
    I have nothing against them.
    It's just not my thing.

My field is live mixing at demanding events.
For guests who see music as a craft.
    Clean transitions.
The right track for the right moment.
    More than just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you, I'm not the right DJ, and that's perfectly fine.
If it does, I'm looking forward to meeting you.
