A castle courtyard, a salon with stucco or a pub room in the old town: every venue handles music differently, and I shape my proposal for your party accordingly. Your birthday in Aachen can take place in a castle, in a historic salon or in a hotel by the spa park. Here I introduce five addresses you can inquire about.
Your birthday in Aachen can take place in a castle, in a salon by the Kurpark or in a small room in the old town. Choose the venue first, then I'll set the speakers and volume to match.
At home, in the garden or in a club house, a compact set is enough for me, even without a power socket if need be. We clarify the space and the power source beforehand, and after about 40 minutes everything is ready.
The moated castle from 1352 has been a community and cultural centre since 2014, run by the association Frankenb(u)erger. The website mentions room booking. Whether your birthday is possible there and which room suits your guest count, you ask the association; after that we discuss the technology.
The ballroom of the house built between 1782 and 1786 measures about 24 by 11 metres and, according to Wikipedia, is available for private events. For a milestone birthday with many guests, that's a setting with character. Whether you can get it, you clarify with the house.
According to Wikipedia, the hotel from 1916 has three salons used for celebrations. How many guests fit in which salon, you find out at the house. I then adapt my set to the room, even if it's small.
The moated castle was rebuilt from 1784 and inaugurated in 1787; among other things it is used for celebrations. Which rooms you can rent and what the route for my equipment looks like, you discuss with the house.
According to Wikipedia, external events take place in the former monastery church from 1687 with 570 square metres, including student parties. Whether a private party is possible there, you ask the house directly.

Who I am
You are celebrating in Aachen, and I put together the music that suits your evening. I started out in a nightclub, and later private and corporate parties followed, until it added up to over 1450 events. In a student city like Aachen, friends from university days, colleagues and family often meet at your birthday.
From old hits and new tracks I cut my own edits so that they find each other on the same dance floor. Tell me beforehand what you like and what shouldn't be played at all, then you can enjoy the evening yourself.
How it works
Date and venue are enough for me to start, and I reply the same or the next day. In a video call we then discuss wishes, schedule and setup.

After booking you get my mobile number, because many things are settled fastest via WhatsApp. About a week before the party we go through requested songs, no-gos and schedule.
Before the guests arrive, I set up in about 40 minutes and do the sound check. I clarify open points with you or the venue so that nothing disturbs later.
For arrival, soft lounge music plays and gets conversations going. For you as the birthday guest and for special moments, I pick the right song for each.
The programme gets music too: quiet during the meal, a microphone for speeches and announcements, plus fitting pieces for games, surprises and the cake.
When the dancing starts, I take over completely, watch the mood and adjust the set to the guests until the last song fades out.

Current hits sit alongside classics from many decades with me, and I check your requested songs individually beforehand.
Setup takes about 40 minutes for an area of roughly 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and after the last track I take everything away again. For that, about 2.5 m width and 1.5 m depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup location, no stairs or lifts) setup takes about 40 minutes.
Photo booth, uplights and live music can be added, and I take care of the coordination.

For tight spaces I have a compact set that fits in a corner or on a shelf. Send me a photo and the measurements, and I'll tell you beforehand whether it's enough and where I can best stand.
Yes, I ask you and your sister for a wish list each and sort the tracks so that everyone gets their songs. That way the evening sounds like both you and your sister, and not like a compromise.
Milestone birthdays on weekends get booked quickly with me, so plan several months ahead. For small parties a few weeks of lead time are often enough; with a short message you will quickly hear from me whether your date is free.
I use your list as a foundation but switch live depending on the mood. When tracks don't fit together, I trim the transitions, and whatever you don't want to hear, I leave out.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
