Wedding venues in Aachen

Weddings in Aachen.

First I ask whether you are celebrating in the ballroom of a spa house, in a hotel by the spa park or in a moated castle, because my setup depends on it. Five addresses show you how different a wedding in Aachen can look: a historic ballroom, a park hotel, a moated castle in Laurensberg, a fortress in the Frankenberger Viertel and a former monastery church in the city center.

From the Kurhaus ballroom to the moated castle: a wedding in Aachen

In Aachen your choice ranges from the ballroom of a spa house and a hotel by the spa park to the castle in Laurensberg. Because each of these rooms sounds different, I only settle the speakers and the lighting mood once you have made your choice.

High ceilings and stucco throw sound back differently from a carpeted hall, and I listen for that in the empty room before the celebration. About 40 minutes after I arrive, the equipment is ready, and I know the sound.

Altes Kurhaus

Komphausbadstraße, Aachen

Jakob Couven built the house between 1782 and 1786 as the Neue Redoute. The ballroom measures roughly 24 by 11 meters and holds up to 340 people, and its use for private events is mentioned. Whether your date is free, you will learn from the house; for the long, narrow hall I then plan speakers and lighting.

Parkhotel Quellenhof

Monheimsallee, am Kurpark

The listed building opened in 1916 as a spa hotel. According to Wikipedia, the ground-floor ballroom holds up to 500 people, and three salons are used for celebrations. Which room suits your guest count, you settle with the hotel, and then we decide on the dance floor.

Schloss Rahe

Laurensberg, Aachen

From 1784, Gerhard Heusch had the moated castle converted into a four-wing complex, and it was inaugurated in 1787. The castle is used for conferences, concerts and celebrations; the garden hall features stucco by Petrus Nicolaas Gagini. In a historic building like this, we clarify the route for the equipment early on.

Burg Frankenberg

Frankenberger Viertel, Aachen

The moated castle was first mentioned in 1352 and reopened in 2014 as a civic and cultural center. The sponsoring association offers room bookings; whether a wedding celebration is possible there, you ask the association. Only once you know the room do I decide how to set up the sound.

Aula Carolina

Pontstraße, Aachen

The former monastery church of St. Katharina was consecrated in 1687 and rebuilt in 1980 following the old model, and it measures 570 square meters. External events such as receptions and concerts are mentioned. Whether it is open for your celebration, you clarify directly with the house; a tall church space echoes, and I take that into account with the level.

Construction dates, rooms and capacities come from Wikipedia and from the websites of the operators mentioned (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free and how many guests fit inside can only be answered by the respective venue.

Free ceremony in Aachen

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

At your wedding in Aachen, people often sit together who rarely meet otherwise: engineers and researchers from the RWTH world, long-established families, relatives from the tri-border region. So that everyone ends up dancing, I build the transitions between styles myself and cut edits in which a classic flows seamlessly into a current hit.

You enter your wishes and no-gos in the wedding portal, and we go through them together in the video call. On the night I follow the floor, because whoever dances sets the pace.

How it works

From the inquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Aachen.

A date and a venue are enough to start, and I reply the same day or the next. Everything else, from the venue to the setup, we clarify afterwards in the video call.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

As soon as you tell me the date and venue, I get back to you the same day, 24 hours at the latest. The video call is non-binding: we get to know each other, you tell me about your ideas, and only then do I send the quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

After booking, I unlock your wedding portal. There you maintain favorite songs, no-gos and the schedule, and about a week before the celebration we go through the whole day by phone.

  3. Set-up & sound check

On the wedding day I arrive in good time, need about 40 minutes for setup and sound check, and coordinate with the speaker, photographer and catering.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit, the songs you have chosen play. The drinks reception gets discreet lounge sounds, and where there is no power outlet nearby, the system runs on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

During the meal it stays quiet. A wireless microphone is enough for speeches, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I find the right song each time.

  6. Opening dance & party

The dance begins with your song of choice. After that I watch the floor and keep adjusting the set until all generations sing the last song together.

Music genres

Disco, soul, pop or charts: which style is next is decided on the night by the mood of the guests and not by a rigid concept.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

Setup and sound check take a good 40 minutes with a footprint of 2.5 by 1.5 meters, and at the end I take everything down again by myself. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough for that, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or elevators) the setup takes about 40 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Aachen want to know.

Here is what couples usually ask me before booking, and for anything else you can simply call me.

+49 176 700 580 27
Our guests come from the Rhineland, the Netherlands and Belgium: is there music that gets everyone going?

Yes, I rely on songs you can sing along to without a translation and mix them with classics from several countries. You can enter requests in other languages in the wedding portal, and I will work them into the evening.

My husband earned his doctorate at RWTH Aachen, and half of our guests are engineers: how do you get everyone else onto the dance floor too?

I open with songs both young and old know and then widen the programme bit by bit. Whether someone is an engineer or a gardener makes no difference: I watch which song gets the first people up and steer from there.

There is almost an hour between the church and the venue for us: can you bridge the time with music?

That is easy to fill: I bring a calm selection for the drinks reception and conversation and keep it discreet so you can talk. As soon as the meal begins, I turn the volume down even further.

We are celebrating in a listed building with a narrow staircase: what do you need for the setup?

For the set-up, a space of 2.5 by 1.5 metres with power within reach is enough, and I carry everything myself. Send me photos or measurements of the access and the room, and I will tell you in advance whether I can be ready in 40 minutes.

We would like to marry on a Saturday in high summer: how early should we get in touch?

On popular summer Saturdays my calendar is often full half a year or more ahead. Just tell me the date; within 24 hours you will know whether I am free, and you do not have to commit to anything.

Our best men and maids of honor might give speeches that run half an hour: how do you handle that?

As soon as someone speaks, I bring the music down, and after the applause I start again. I agree the order of events with you in advance and handle spontaneous items on the night.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you would like real live music for the reception or the ceremony, I can bring in saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin from my network. We discuss well in advance at which point a performance works best.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

On a terrace in the evening light, a saxophone sounds especially soft when guests start chatting with a glass in hand.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

Percussion drives the beat after dessert, and the dance floor usually fills without anyone having to ask.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

A live singing voice gives the celebration the feel of a concert, and later the microphone may also pass to your guests.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violinist plays for your entrance and turns the first course into a festive opening that stays in your guests' memory.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
