Celebrating in Berlin
Whether it's a courtyard, a rooftop terrace or a hall by the water: describe your space to me in two sentences, because the equipment and setup depend on it. Five venues are on offer for your birthday: a former brewery in Prenzlauer Berg, a pumping station on the Spree, a former crematorium in Wedding, the fortress in Spandau and the old Funkhaus in Oberschöneweide.
In Berlin your birthday can take place in a courtyard, on a roof terrace or in a former industrial building. A slim set is enough for a small group; if the whole family comes, I set up more equipment. All I need is the address.
If you are celebrating at home, a corner of a room is enough for me: the compact setup also runs on battery, so a power socket nearby is not necessary. Beforehand we agree which corner I get for the speakers and at what time I can come in.
Renovated from 1998 to 2000, the brewery founded in 1842 has become a cultural venue with a boiler house, machine house and Alte Kantine. For a birthday in a place like this, a slim sound system that does not drown out conversation is often enough; which rooms you can get, you will learn from the venue.
The former sewage pumping station V stands right on the Spree and has been a place for arts and ideas since 2006. It spans six floors, so I will ask you beforehand whether you are celebrating on one level or whether guests will move between several rooms.
In the former crematorium, according to Wikipedia, the domed hall is used for concerts and celebrations, among other things, and the underground concrete hall from 2019 measures 1,600 square metres. For rooms this different, I clarify with you beforehand how many guests are coming and where the dancing will be.
The fortress from 1594 lies on the Spree and Havel, and according to Wikipedia the Gothic Hall and other rooms can be used for events. With thick stone walls, I listen to the room before the party and aim the speakers so that your guests can understand each other.
The Funkhaus was the seat of East German broadcasting until 1990 and is now an event venue and studio location covering around 135,000 square metres. On a site this size I will let you know beforehand what equipment I plan for your room.

Who I am
You invite people to Berlin, and I take care of the sound. I learned my craft behind the booth of a nightclub, and since then it has grown to more than 1450 celebrations. How an evening unfolds is never set beforehand, so I listen first and then mix.
I blend classics and current hits in my own edits so that older and younger guests dance together. Tell me in advance what you love and what must never be played, and then you can celebrate carefree yourself.
How it works
Send me the date and location of your party, I will get back to you the same or the next day, and then come the video call, setup and party. I answer questions in between personally.
Request a dateAfter your enquiry it takes at most one day until you hear from me. In the short video call you tell me about your birthday, and afterwards you receive your quote.
With the booking you receive my mobile number, because WhatsApp is the shortest line. Seven days before the party we go through requested songs, no-gos and schedule together.
Before the guests arrive, I set up; for setup and soundcheck I allow about 40 minutes. Last questions I settle with you or the venue so that everything runs calmly and unobtrusively.
Subtle lounge music lets the guests find their way into conversation calmly as they arrive. For the birthday guest of honour or a special moment, I choose the music that fits exactly.
The programme of the evening gets the right tone from me: music for the meal, the microphone for speeches and announcements, tracks for games, surprises and the cake cutting.
As soon as the dance floor is open, everything is in my hands. I read the mood, change the set spontaneously according to the guests and keep young and old on the floor until the last song plays.

For your birthday I put together a set that belongs only to you and keep developing it as the party goes on. Tracks from different decades also get those onto the floor who only wanted to watch. A balcony, a courtyard or the living room is enough for me, because I carry my compact setup in myself. If a slideshow is running or someone is giving a speech, I turn the music down immediately.

Current hits play alongside classics from many decades at my sets, and I collect your requests in advance without stubbornly working through a list at the booth.
Well before your guests arrive, my equipment is in place and checked, and after the party I take everything down myself. For this about 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the set-up spot, no stairs or lifts) the set-up takes about 40 minutes.
Which extras are added is entirely your decision, whether lighting, photo station, live music or audio guest book, and I handle the coordination.

+49 176 700 580 27Definitely, because with the right music even a group of twenty guests turns into a full dance floor, and I soon notice who is ready to start first. With only a few guests I keep the volume low so you can talk to everyone, and I turn it up only when you want me to.
Of course, send me your list and I will place the tracks where they work best. In our first conversation you tell me what else your guests enjoy.
That can be arranged: tell my contacts the moment, and exactly then the right music kicks in, without you suspecting anything beforehand. The friends who are surprising you coordinate with me in advance.
If you are celebrating a milestone birthday in a fixed venue, write to me early, because the weekends go first. A small party can often be planned with a few weeks' notice; you will hear from me by the next day at the latest.
It can be done: from my network come saxophone, percussion, vocals or violin, playing live to my set. We choose the most effective moment together beforehand.

Transparency
Hours of nothing but Ballermann and schlager? A few hits of that kind can work well at a birthday party when the mood is right, which is why they have their place with me too. Building a whole evening on them is not my line, though. I'm also not your DJ for techno with no connection to the crowd, for a list ticked off title by title, or for festivals with several stages. There are colleagues who are really good at that and love it; nothing against them, it's simply not my territory.
What I do is live mixing for guests who want an evening with feeling: clean transitions, the right title at the right moment, more than letting a playlist run. That is why I tell you openly beforehand what doesn't suit me, so that you aren't disappointed on the night.
If that doesn't suit your party, I'm not the right DJ, and that's fine. If it does, let's talk.
