Company parties in Berlin
Power plant hall, loft or ballroom: in Berlin the spaces differ greatly, so I first ask about the programme and the room. Six venues, from Kraftwerk in Mitte via Radialsystem and Funkhaus to Kulturbrauerei, show the range for your company evening: a gala in a large hall, a conference with an evening programme or a smaller party.
In Berlin you can choose between the halls of a former power station in Mitte and the buildings of the old radio house on the Spree. The room determines which system I bring, so I first want to know what you are celebrating and how many guests are expected.
A pumping station and a 16th-century fortress are worlds apart in sound; in an industrial monument I deliberately hold back. How the evening runs time-wise, we fix with you in advance in the briefing, and I bring and clear away my equipment myself.
The East German heating plant went into operation in 1964, the Tresor club is in the remaining part of the building, and according to Wikipedia the large halls of the old power plant serve as a cultural and event venue. In such tall industrial halls I plan the sound and setup with you early.
According to Wikipedia, the former sewage pumping station V on the Spree is rented out over six floors on about 2,500 square metres for conferences, receptions and gala evenings, among other things. With a building on several levels, we agree early on where the programme and where the dance floor will be.
The site near the Spree covers about 135,000 square metres and was the seat of East German broadcasting until 1990; today it is an event venue and studio location. On a site this size we clarify beforehand which building your evening will use.
The brewery complex founded in 1842 has been a listed monument since 1974 and today includes the boiler house, machine house and Alte Kantine, among others. Which part of the venue is an option for your party, you will learn from the venue; after that I align my setup.
The former crematorium has served as a cultural quarter since 2015, and according to Wikipedia the domed hall is used for conferences and celebrations, among other things. A building with this history requires sensitivity, so we discuss the tone and flow of the evening early on.
According to Wikipedia, the Renaissance fortress at the confluence of the Spree and Havel has a Gothic Hall that can be rented together with other rooms. Old walls carry sound differently than modern halls, so I walk through the space with you beforehand.

Who I am
How your evening in Berlin unfolds depends on the music planning: first the welcome, then the speeches, finally the dance floor. I learned my craft behind the decks of a nightclub and sharpened it at company parties in many industries. When there is time for speeches and when for partying, we settle together with you by phone or video call.
I don't impose myself, and my edits let the parts of your program flow seamlessly into one another. On the day of the event I set up the equipment and wireless microphones and check the sound in the room.

01For company parties of up to about 500 guests, I tailor the music to your company, and in the end the dance floor should still be full. Which track works for which generation, I hear in the room and adjust the mix continuously instead of working through a list. I know the balancing act between company culture and party mood from parties for clients in the automotive industry and the software sector. I keep time free for the transition from dinner to party, so that a long speech does not slow your evening down. Up to 150 guests I provide the complete equipment myself; for larger events I bring in reliable technical partners.

Your music wish list is the start, then I clarify details myself with the venue and service providers, so that you do not have to chase after them. Tracks and themes that do not suit your occasion I note in the conversation and consistently keep out of the programme.

From seventies soul through electronic music to today's charts, we agree your music programme beforehand, and I connect the genres into a whole.
Setup takes about 40 minutes; I am ready in good time before doors open, set up the system calmly and clear everything away myself after the last track. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

+49 176 700 580 27I can see which tables are still holding back, and I play tracks that bring both groups together. People who otherwise only meet through screens quickly find each other on the dance floor with shared hits from their youth, and I guide you there.
Yes, send me the files in advance, and I'll check the format and levels and place them at the right spot in the schedule. If needed, I'll test them in the room during setup.
Together with you we fix a fallback space indoors and reserve time for the move. I protect my equipment against moisture, and whether we relocate is something we decide together before the doors open.
My standard system covers up to 150 guests; for more people I bring in vetted partners and tell you in good time. We go through the room, guest count and programme with you beforehand in a conversation.
Whether you are early enough? Four to eight weeks is normal for me, but on December Fridays and for large projects I need more lead time. You will have my answer before the next working day ends.
I know the right people for that: I can arrange violin, vocals, percussion or saxophone for you, and the artists build on top of my mix. When the performance takes place during the evening, we decide together with you once the briefing is done.

If you want live music already at the reception or dinner, I'll arrange a well-rehearsed band of two to four musicians for you. After that I keep playing without a break, and because the planning is in my hands, I remain your single point of contact.

This is how we proceed for your company event in Berlin: you tell me the occasion, date and number of participants, and in a video call we clarify music, programme and room. Shortly before the date we fix the schedule with you in a briefing. Before the doors open I am in the still empty hall checking the acoustics. For smaller groups my own system is enough; for very large guest numbers I bring in technical partners.

Transparency
A pure Ballermann and schlager programme? That is not part of my repertoire. A few sing-along titles are welcome at company parties, but building a whole evening on them goes against my style. The same goes for techno with no connection to your audience, for rigid request lists and for festivals with several stages. There are colleagues who do exactly that gladly and well.
My strength is mixing live for guests with a sense for the right moment: precise transitions, the right track at the right time, rather than letting a playlist run. That is why I would rather tell you straight away what I don't offer than have you disappointed on the night.
If that doesn't suit your event, I'm not the right choice, and that's perfectly fine. If it does, we'll discuss everything else.
