I'm Michael Zimmermann, party DJ, and for your birthday on Lake Constance the mix is created live, track by track according to your guests. I've been DJing for over 25 years, at private celebrations since 2004, and over 1450 events have taught me to sense moods early. Your evening is the centre of attention, I stay in the background, and the mix makes sure you don't have to worry about anything.

Celebrations between lakeshore and old town
Whether vaulted cellar, hotel hall or terrace: every room calls for a different sound, and we talk that through in advance so that I can tailor my set-up to your room. For your birthday I have picked seven venues, from the pavilion in Lindau and the Häusle in Konstanz to three addresses in Überlingen, the castle in Meersburg and the museum in Friedrichshafen.
Lake Constance offers you rooms of very different sizes for your birthday, from vaulted cellars and hotel halls to rooftop terraces with a view of the water. In Konstanz, for example, you will find a table for small groups and a garden marquee, and I tune my system to whatever you choose. Which speakers make sense for that, I discuss with you in advance during planning.
If your party is at home, whether on the terrace or in the living room, I bring a compact system that can run on its own battery instead of a socket if needed. We discuss space, power and set-up time together beforehand, so all you have left to do on the day is celebrate.
The Halle in Lindau explicitly names birthdays as an occasion. According to the operator, banquets for 90 people are possible in the 140 m² pavilion, and for 230 on the ground floor with the pavilion. The roof terrace and pavilion offer a view over Lake Constance, so I set up my speakers so that they do not block your view.
The Pumpenhäusle counts birthdays among its occasions. According to the operator, the Häusle offers a table for up to 20 people, and in the garden tent 23 to 70 guests celebrate with a view of the Seerhein. For the small table a slim set-up is enough for me; in the tent I bring a larger system for you.
The Nero lists birthdays among its occasions and celebrates in the historic vaulted cellar. According to the operator, a fully equipped audio system is available, and I'll check with you beforehand whether it is enough for your evening or whether I add my own system. Bass works differently in a vault than in a hall, so I listen to the room before the start.
The Hotel Restaurant lists birthdays as an occasion. According to the operator, it can be booked exclusively for up to 50 people, during the day as well as in the evening. For a group like that, a compact set-up fits, which I'll agree with you and the venue.
The Bad Hotel with its Kursaal on the lake lists birthdays among its occasions. According to the operator, the Kursaal measures 745 m². In a space like that, I position the speakers so that you have good sound even at the back of the room, without anything dominating at the front.
The Neue Schloss lists birthdays as an occasion. According to the operator, the lake terrace is used for standing receptions, and the house also has the Spiegelsaal. How much equipment belongs in such historic rooms, I clarify in advance with you and the venue.
The museum presents birthday parties on a page of its own. According to the operator, you celebrate among historic aircraft, an unusual setting for your evening. I plan my set-up so that equipment and exhibits have room side by side.

Who I am
Your birthday at Lake Constance, your party, my sound. I've been behind the decks since 1998, the first years in clubs, since 2004 at private and corporate parties, over 1450 events so far. 139 steps lead up to 33 metres at the Neuer Leuchtturm in Lindau, and your evening may well aim just as high.
I stay in the background, the music does the talking, and your guests of every age should have fun. My own edits link hits from different decades without any bumps. Tell me what you want and what must never be played, and I'll take care of the rest.
How it works
Give me the date, location and approximate number of guests, and you will get my answer within a day. A video call, my set-up and your celebration follow, and we sort out all the questions in between through direct contact. See the whole process →
Request a dateYour enquiry lands with me, and I get back to you the following day at the latest. We arrange a short video chat, you tell me about your celebration, and afterwards you receive my quote.
With the booking, we switch to the direct line: you get my private mobile number for WhatsApp. About seven days before the party, we go through requested songs, no-gos and the running order of the evening.
When the first guests arrive by the water, my system is already set up and tested, because I am there one to two hours beforehand. I settle anything outstanding with you or the team, so that everything runs invisibly.
The guests trickle in, and subtle lounge sounds create room for first conversations. Whoever has a birthday or is celebrating a special moment gets the fitting music for it.
Between starter and dessert, I keep the music atmospheric and guide you through speeches and announcements at the microphone. Games, surprises and the cake cutting each get the fitting sound, so every moment feels right.
When the dance floor is opened up, I am in my element. I read the room, align the set live with the mood of the crowd and unite all generations until the last song.

With tracks from across the decades and a nose for the moment, you get even the hesitant ones onto the dance floor. From the granddaughter to the great-uncle, every guest should get their song, which is why my selection is deliberately broad. When a special moment is on its way, I adapt the sound on the spur of the moment.

+49 176 700 580 27A fixed list can't tell when your guests are ready for the dance floor, but I watch for that the whole evening. If the venue has a good sound system, I play my music through it, otherwise I set up my own. For a small group I choose discreet equipment with a small footprint, so your room keeps its charm.
You get a wireless microphone from me and speak whenever you like, for example to thank your guests. If someone is planning a speech or a game, I briefly hand it over to that person. I keep my own announcements short, unless you explicitly want more of them.
I treat your list as a guide, not a law. If someone in your group calls out a track, I listen to the mood and decide whether it fits straight away or works better later. You do not have to fill in a form for that, a short phone call is enough for us.
For a milestone birthday with a booked venue, it is best to enquire half a year ahead, because my calendar fills up early. For smaller get-togethers I can often find a slot at short notice too. Tell me your date, and you will hear back from me the same day.
Yes, your party can be extended with live music: a saxophonist from my network can play over my mix, and I take care of arranging it. Vocals, violin or drums are just as possible if they suit your group of guests. In our conversation beforehand we decide at which point the performance does the most for you.

My path to your evening is short: you tell me the date, location and number of guests, a phone call sorts out your music, and at the celebration I pick up calls from your group.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
