Celebrations in Duisburg
Brewery pub in the countryside, hall between old machines or living room in Meiderich: every setting changes the sound, and I shape my suggestion accordingly. Your birthday in Duisburg can take place above the harbour basin, in the brewery pub or in a hall of the Landschaftspark. I will briefly introduce four venues and spots where birthdays are possible.
In Duisburg you can celebrate in the beer garden by the Revierpark, in a hall by the water or in a hall with old machinery, and depending on the setting I position the speakers and set the levels differently. Please tell me first where the party takes place before I plan the details.
An apartment or terrace gets by with little: a compact set, if necessary battery-powered, is completely sufficient there. We'll discuss in advance how much space is available and where the nearest socket is, and my setup is done after about 40 minutes.
For parties, the venue states up to 98 seated guests and up to 130 with standing guests. The rooms on the first floor are bright and have a large balcony overlooking the water. For a milestone birthday, we tune the set and volume to your number of guests.
Seven banquet halls and rooms together hold up to 130 people, each with access to a large outdoor area. The operator expressly mentions private parties. In summer, the beer garden, which is only open then, is worth a look.
Five combinable rooms with machinery from the plant's working days suit 100 to 600 guests according to the operator; parties are also mentioned. Technology and catering are tied to partners of the park, so ask the venue whether your own DJ set is possible.
The park has squares ranging from the Piazza Metallica with 2,500 square metres to the Cowperplatz with 6,000. The operator does not say which celebrations are permitted there, so you clarify this with the event management. Outdoors, a lot depends on power and weather.

Who I am
Your celebration in Duisburg should sound like you and not like someone else's playlist. I learned my craft in the nightclub, and that has grown into over 1450 events, private and corporate. At your birthday, colleagues from the harbour, friends from school and relatives from several countries may come together; for that I cut edits that get everyone moving.
You tell me your wishes and no-gos in advance, and then you get to celebrate along. How the evening develops from calm tones to a full dance floor, I'm happy to show you beforehand with an example.
How it works
Tell me the date and place, and I will get back to you the same or the next day. Then follow a video call, the arrangements with the venue and your evening.
Request a dateAfter your enquiry you hear from me within a day. In a short video call you tell me about your birthday, then your offer is ready.
With your booking you get my mobile number, because many things are settled fastest via WhatsApp. About a week beforehand, we go through requested songs, no-gos and schedule.
I arrive before your guests, set up the equipment in about 40 minutes and do the sound check. Open questions we clear up with you or the venue, so that everything runs smoothly later.
On arrival, subtle lounge music plays so that your guests get into conversation. For you as the birthday guest and for special moments I choose the fitting track.
The programme gets its own music: it stays quiet during the meal, there is the microphone for speeches, and for games, surprises and cake I find suitable tracks.
As soon as people start dancing, I take over completely, read the mood and adapt the set to the guests until the last song has faded.

Current chart hits and classics from several decades play in the same set, and we discuss your requested tracks beforehand.
Setup takes a good 40 minutes, the system needs about 2.5 by 1.5 metres of space, and I clear up myself after the party. About 2.5 m width and 1.5 m depth are enough for that, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
You can add lighting, photo station, live music and audio guest book, and I handle the coordination.

I start with tracks that work across languages and ages, then feel my way towards rock, rap, disco or chart hits. Which songs you want and which you do not, you enter with me beforehand.
Gladly, I'll look for fitting tracks for your pictures together with you and then lead the music back into the mix. You set the pace of the show, and I cut the transitions.
Weekends during holiday periods fill up early, so get in touch as soon as the date is set. For smaller gatherings a slot can often be found at short notice, and you will hear from me within 24 hours.
Gladly. On request, saxophone, violin, vocals or percussion from my network can join in, and I make the contact. You set the time of the performance, and I build the schedule around it.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
