I started in 1998, have played private celebrations since 2004, and after more than 1450 events I sense early which way the mood is tipping. Celebrations in Karlsruhe
A festival hall, chapel or foyer each demands a different sound, so I tailor my suggestion to where you are celebrating. Five venues are available for your birthday: a chapel with a kitchenette, a large festival hall, a viewing terrace on the Turmberg, a banqueting hall in the Karlsburg and a cultural centre on Lorenzstraße.
Your birthday in Karlsruhe can take place in a small chapel, a spacious festival hall, on a viewing terrace or in a cultural center. Whether ten friends or half the family show up determines my setup, and all you need to do is tell me the venue.
At home, in the living room or the garden, a small setup is enough for me, one that can even work without a power outlet in an emergency. We go over space, power and setup time beforehand, so you have time for your guests on the big day.
The Stadtamt Durlach expressly mentions the Nikolauskapelle for family celebrations such as birthdays and provides a kitchenette with crockery. In a room of this kind the equipment is kept small, and the volume is set so that people can talk comfortably.
According to the Stadtamt, the Festhalle Durlach offers space for private celebrations, and its seating can be adapted to the occasion. Whether you celebrate with twenty friends or the whole family decides how much equipment I bring.
The viewing terrace on the Turmberg has seating for around 400 people, and below it lies an event room with a large glass front. In good weather moving outside suggests itself, and I set the music so that the evening keeps flowing.
According to the Stadtamt Durlach, the former palace chapel of the Karlsburg now serves as a banqueting hall for events of all kinds. In a historic hall I ask beforehand what equipment is permitted, and set up accordingly.
The ZKM rents out its foyer, media theatre and lecture hall outside opening hours too, and besides symposia and workshops mentions personal events. In a cultural venue I clarify with the team beforehand how I run the sound system and cables unobtrusively.
I took the rooms, venues and occasions from the operators' websites, as of October 2026. Only the venue itself can tell you whether your date is free and how many guests fit.
Who I am
You invite people to Karlsruhe, and I bring the sound. My career began in 1998 behind the booth in a club, and private and corporate celebrations followed later, more than 1450 so far. A rigid plan is not enough for a good party, I prefer to listen.
My edits blend classics and current hits into one another, so older and younger guests dance equally. Tell me beforehand what you want and what should not be played, and the evening works without a big production, so you can celebrate relaxed yourself.
How it works
Send me the date and place of your celebration, and I will reply the same or the next day, followed by a video call, setup and party. Questions in between I answer for you personally.
Request a dateWhen you write to me, I reply by the next day at the latest. In a short video call you tell me about your party, and after that your quote is ready.
As soon as you have booked, you get my mobile number, because WhatsApp is the fastest way to reach me. One week before the party, we talk once more about requested songs, no-gos and the schedule.
I set up before the first guests arrive; I need one to two hours for the equipment and sound check. I clear up any open questions with you or the venue, so nothing gets in the way.
Soft lounge music plays as guests arrive, giving them a chance to start talking. For the birthday guest of honor or a special moment, I choose the fitting music.
For dinner, speeches at the microphone, games, surprises and the cutting of the cake, I provide the right sound each time, so every part of the evening gets its own atmosphere.
Once the dance floor is open, I take over. I read the mood, adapt the set to the guests and keep young and old on the floor until the last track plays.

Your birthday gets a set from me that is tailored exactly to you and your guests and changes over the course of the night. When tracks from several decades play, even those who only wanted to watch at first join in dancing. A balcony, a garden or your living room is enough for me, because I carry my small setup in myself. As soon as a slideshow starts or someone gives a speech, I turn the music down immediately.

With me, current hits sit alongside classics from many decades, I collect your requested songs in advance, and I don't work through them rigidly at the booth.
Well over two hours before your guests arrive, the equipment is set up and checked, and after the party I clear everything away again. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough for that, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or elevators) the setup takes around 40 minutes.
Whether lighting, a photo station, live music or an audio guest book is added is up to you, and I handle the arrangements.

+49 176 700 580 27Even ten guests prefer to dance when I keep an eye on the music. I see who is getting into the mood and play accordingly. If the venue has a usable sound system, I plug into it; otherwise I set up mine and deliberately keep it quiet so that your group can talk.
The wireless microphone is ready for you whenever you want to give a welcome or a toast. Your friends can use it too. We decide beforehand how much hosting you would like.
I take requests that come up during the evening right at the booth, a quick shout is enough. Anything that doesn't fit the mood, I save for later. Your own list stays the common thread.
Plan your milestone birthday in a fixed venue several months ahead, because Saturdays are in demand. For your small gathering, a few weeks are often enough for me. If time is tight, get in touch right away, and you will know the same day whether I am free.
Yes, on request I can add vocals, violin, saxophone or percussion from my network, indoors or outdoors. We will decide on the right moment for the performance together in our first conversation.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
