Company parties in Karlsruhe
Whether hall, ballroom or cultural venue: spaces in a city with a trade fair and universities differ greatly, so I first ask about your programme and your room. Six venues, from the hall at the Festplatz to the chapel in town, show how different your company evening can turn out: as a dinner for a small group, as a party for the whole workforce or as a gala in a cultural venue.
Whether it is the Gartenhalle at the festival grounds with 4,500 square metres or a small chapel for a summer party: Karlsruhe offers you rooms of very different sizes. Which equipment is used depends on the room; before the first quote I ask you about the occasion, format and number of guests.
In a cultural centre with several halls, we work out which room suits your programme, and in the banquet hall of a Karlsburg I deliberately stay discreet. How the meal, speeches and party follow one another, we record in the briefing each time, and I handle setup and teardown myself.
The Gartenhalle in the congress centre lists presentations, banquets and company parties as occasions. According to Messe Karlsruhe it covers 4,500 square metres, can be divided into two areas and sits next to the zoo with direct access to green space. In a hall of this size I agree the sound system and setup with you early on.
Alongside its cultural programme, the Tollhaus rents out its rooms for trade fairs, conferences, staff parties and meetings. A Large Hall, a Small Hall and a seminar room are listed. Because the halls differ greatly in size, we agree beforehand which room suits your programme.
The ZKM rents out its foyer, media theatre, lecture hall and seminar room also outside opening hours and lists receptions, symposia, workshops and gala dinners as occasions. In a cultural venue I keep my system unobtrusive and fix clear schedules.
The Stadtamt Durlach lists the Nikolauskapelle for company and anniversary parties and Christmas parties, among other things, with a kitchenette and crockery. In a room of this size the system is kept small, and the music stays conducive to conversation.
According to the Stadtamt, the Festhalle Durlach offers space for private and business celebrations, with seating from banquet to seminar style. How it is set up for you determines the layout, so we go through the plan early.

Welcome, speeches, party: how your evening in Karlsruhe unfolds determines how I shape the music. I have been behind the decks since 1998, at first in the nightclub, and since 2004 at private and corporate celebrations, at more than 1450 events. By phone or video call, we agree with you in advance when there will be speaking and when there will be dancing.
I stay in the background, and my own edits blend the individual phases of your evening seamlessly. On the day of the event I bring the equipment and wireless microphones, set up myself and do the soundcheck.

01For company parties with up to about 500 guests, I tailor the music to your business, and the dance floor should still be full in the end. What lands with which generation, I sense in the room and keep adjusting the mix instead of playing through a list. Since 2004 I have combined company culture and party spirit, including for corporations such as Audi, BMW, Microsoft or Amazon. Between the meal and the party I build in some leeway, so that a long speech does not bring your evening to a standstill. Up to 150 guests I supply all the equipment myself; for larger events I work with reliable technical partners.

Your wish list comes first; after that I coordinate the details myself with the venue and service providers, so you do not have to chase anything. Whatever does not suit your occasion, I consistently keep out of the programme, according to your instructions.

We agree on the music programme in advance, from seventies soul to current chart hits, and I blend the genres into one continuous set.
About two hours before doors open I am ready, set up the system in peace, and clear everything away myself after the last track. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough for this, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) the setup takes around 40 minutes.

Whether a gala or an anniversary: my standards for your evening are the same as for any other company party, from welcoming the first guest to the farewell.

+49 176 700 580 27Only a look at the house system will tell: I have specs and photos sent to me in advance. If it is good, I connect my controller there; if it is weak, I set up my own PA. In the preliminary talk I will give you my recommendation.
I build a reserve into the sound setup, so that late arrivals do not upset anything. I cover up to 150 guests with my own system; for more, I bring technical partners on board and let you know early.
In the briefing we set the sequence of the meal, the speeches and the acts, so that I miss no cue. The microphone is only used for announcements from your schedule; afterwards I move into the mix so that the party starts as if by itself.
During the reception the sound stays quiet so that conversation is possible; in the second room I slowly build the mix up to the dance floor. How the move between rooms should work, we plan in advance, leaving room for delays in the programme; I coordinate it with your venue.
For December it pays to get in touch early; four to eight weeks ahead is ideal, and the same goes for summer. My reply reaches you the next day, and the invoice follows after the event with a payment term of 7 days.
Yes, on request I add saxophone, violin, percussion or vocals from my network to my mix. A performance suits your party well in the break after the main course or when the dance floor opens; we settle the exact time in the briefing.

If you want live music already at the reception or dinner, I'll arrange a well-rehearsed band of two to four musicians for you. After that I keep playing without a break, and because the planning is in my hands, I remain your single point of contact.

This is how we work together on your company event in Karlsruhe: first you tell me the occasion, date and expected number of participants, then we clarify the music, schedule and room by video call. Shortly before the event, we go through the briefing minute by minute. On the day itself I am ready before doors open and test the sound in the empty hall. For a smaller audience my own system is enough; for large events I bring in technical partners.

Transparency
A programme made up exclusively of party-anthem and Schlager hits doesn't suit me. Guests at any company party like a few sing-along classics, but building the whole evening on them isn't my style. I'm also the wrong contact for techno sets with no connection to your guests, for wish lists that run rigidly from top to bottom, or for multi-stage festivals. Colleagues who love exactly that take such jobs.
My craft is live mixing for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
