Michael Zimmermann plays for wedding couples in Karlsruhe

Wedding DJ Karlsruhe · Events since 2004

Your wedding in Karlsruhe gets the sound you imagine.

I am Michael Zimmermann, and I play at your wedding celebration in Karlsruhe, from the first glass of sparkling wine to the last dance. I have stood behind the decks for over 25 years and have looked after more than 1450 events, over 650 of them weddings. I stand beside the dance floor rather than in front of it, because your guests should be the centre of attention and not my equipment. beats per micha: Michael Zimmermann, wedding DJ, available to book in Karlsruhe and the surrounding area.

Wedding venues in Karlsruhe

Weddings in Karlsruhe.

Before I settle the sound system and the schedule, I ask about the venue, the room and the outdoor area, because a banqueting hall, a terrace and a foyer each call for a different approach. I introduce five venues to you, from the banqueting hall in the centre of Durlach and a terrace on the Turmberg to the cultural centre on Lorenzstraße, and for each one I plan the setup and schedule together with you.

Banqueting hall, terrace or foyer: a wedding in Karlsruhe

Anyone getting married in Karlsruhe can choose between a banquet hall in the centre of Durlach, a viewing terrace on the Turmberg and the foyer of a cultural centre. Since every place sounds different, I adapt the sound system, the setup and the schedule to it.

A large hall demands more sound reserve from me than a standing reception under the open sky. I read your must-play tracks and no-gos carefully before the celebration. I set up early enough so that everything is ready for the reception.

Festsaal der Karlsburg

in the centre of Durlach, Karlsruhe

The Karlsburg in the centre of Durlach dates in its preserved form from the 18th century, and according to the Durlach city office its former palace chapel serves as a banqueting hall for events of all kinds. In a historic room I plan volume and positioning with care, and we clarify in advance with the operator what is technically possible there.

Festhalle Durlach

Durlach, Karlsruhe

For its seating, the Festhalle Durlach lists occasions from weddings to balls and banquets, and according to the city office it is suitable for private as well as business celebrations. Because the rows of chairs are arranged differently each time, before setting up we discuss where the dancing will happen and where your tables will go.

Turmbergterrasse

on the Turmberg, Durlach, Karlsruhe

On the Turmberg, the viewing terrace offers seating for around 400 people, and below it lies an event room with a large glass front and panoramic view. If your celebration moves between the room and the terrace, I plan the transition so that the music comes along without a break.

Nikolauskapelle

Karlsruhe

The Durlach city office lists the Nikolauskapelle for family celebrations and provides a kitchenette with crockery. For a manageable room I plan a small setup, and the volume is set so that your guests can talk to one another.

ZKM Karlsruhe

Lorenzstraße 19, Karlsruhe

The ZKM rents out its foyer, media theatre and lecture hall also outside opening hours and names receptions and gala dinners as occasions. In a building that otherwise shows exhibitions, I agree the sound and positioning in advance with the events team.

I took the details on rooms, spaces and occasions from the operators' websites, as of October 2026. Only the respective operator can tell you whether your date is still available and how many guests fit into the venue.

Humanist ceremony in Karlsruhe

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Your wedding in Karlsruhe should sound like the two of you, which is why I listen first. In 1998 I stood behind the decks in a discotheque for the first time and learned there how to get a room moving. Since 2004 I have played at private and corporate celebrations, and over 650 weddings are among the more than 1450 events.

I do not push myself into the foreground; the music should have its effect and your day should stay at the centre. With my own edits I link tracks from different decades, so that family, friends and colleagues stand on the dance floor together. Afterwards you should say: that was exactly our celebration.

How it works

From the enquiry to the final hour of your wedding in Karlsruhe.

A short message is enough, I reply within 24 hours, and after that a video call, arrangements and setup carry you through to the opening dance.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

As soon as the date and venue are set, send me a short message; I usually reply the same day, at the latest after 24 hours. In a video call we get to know each other without any sales pressure and exchange ideas, and afterwards your offer is ready.

  2. Booking & portal access

With the booking, your wedding portal opens. In the web app you enter special moments, no-gos, favourite songs and the schedule, and about a week before the celebration we go through everything by phone.

  3. Set-up & sound check

I arrive early enough, at least two hours before the start, while you are still getting ready. Then I set up the equipment, test the room, settle last details with the speaker and the photographer, and keep everything running in the background for your guests.

  4. Ceremony & reception

The music sets the mood for the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit. At the reception afterwards, soft lounge music plays, and even outdoors without a power outlet everything works on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

A calm soundtrack plays during the meal. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I choose fitting music each time.

  6. Opening dance & party

Your requested edit opens the dance, then the party starts. I watch the dance floor, change the set live and keep all generations moving until the last song.

Your tables often seat several generations, which is why soul classics and current chart hits share the same set with me. From first contact to the final song, the music stays with one person.

Mixed live, microphone only when needed

I choose the next song based on the mood in the room; I stay in the background, and the microphone belongs to your speeches and programme items.

LED uplights bathe the room in the colour you choose, and over the course of the evening the lighting moves with the music.

The photo station runs by itself during the celebration, stores every picture in a private online gallery and, if you wish, prints copies straight away for your guests.

Your guests' phone photos end up bundled in one place without any extra app, via Feierblick, an external service that I recommend and that you book separately from me.

Included are two wireless microphones, lighting effects, a Pioneer or Denon console and speakers from RCF or Electro-Voice.

At the retro telephone your guests record their congratulations on tape, and after the celebration I edit them into a finished audio file.

One fixed contact person

I respond to your enquiry within 24 hours, and we stay in constant contact until the wedding day.

An evening that is planned beforehand

We discuss music requests and no-gos in the very first conversation, and afterwards I sort out everything else with your venue and the other vendors.

Music genres

I combine disco classics, nineties hits and current chart music, and which of them is played is decided by the mood of your guests and not by a rigid list.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

I arrive two hours before the start, set up calmly, test the sound and clear everything away myself after the celebration. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) the setup takes around 40 minutes.

Symbolic wedding ceremony

For the entrance, exchange of rings and exit of a humanist ceremony, my music needs no mains cable, because a powerful battery carries the ceremony.

On request you can get a photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book together from me, and I coordinate everything.

Frequently asked questions

What wedding couples in Karlsruhe want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call.

+49 176 700 580 27
Our champagne reception is outdoors and there is no power: how does that work with the music?

My system runs on battery, so no cable is needed. We agree with the venue beforehand where equipment may be set up outside, and I take care of that arrangement.

Does the music at our humanist ceremony in Karlsruhe also work without a power outlet?

For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit, tracks of your choice play without me needing a power outlet. Whether a non-religious ceremony may take place at your location is decided solely by the operator.

How do we get grandparents, cousins and university friends onto the dance floor together?

I constantly watch which tables are not moving and step in there with a fitting track. My edits bring together schlager, chart hits and classics. I am happy to receive a list of must-play tracks and no-gos from you in advance.

Can we add a live musician to the reception without hiring a whole band?

That can be arranged: a saxophonist, a violinist, a singer or a percussionist from my network plays live along to my mix. It is most impressive at the champagne reception, during the ceremony or at the start of the dancing, and we settle the timing together.

Is a DJ worth it if we only invite forty people?

Absolutely. My standard package covers up to around 150 guests, and with forty the setup stays lean. At the booth, an ordinary power outlet is enough for me.

How early should we get in touch with you if we are getting married on a summer Saturday?

Popular summer Saturdays are booked first, so write to me early; outside peak season a few months are usually enough. Within 24 hours you will know whether your date is free.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you would like live music for the drinks reception or the ceremony, I can arrange a saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin. We will work out in good time before the celebration when the performance will have the best effect.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone with the aperitif gives the reception a soft, elegant start, especially as the evening gradually turns to dusk.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After dessert, percussion adds weight to the beat, and the dance floor fills almost on its own.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

A singer gives your wedding concert-level glamour, and later your guests are welcome to join in at the microphone.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin accompanies your entrance with a solemn sound and gives the meal the feel of a gala evening.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
