Celebrating on the fjord
Whether garden house, hotel lounge or restaurant parlour: first I want to know what your room looks like, because that decides how much equipment I set up and where I put it. Five venues are available for your birthday: function rooms in a hotel on the edge of town, a house with a small Schifferstube on the Kiellinie, the banker's villa above the fjord, a wine vault in the hotel at the main station and a beach hotel in Möltenort.
In Kiel you can celebrate in a hotel lounge, in a villa with a garden, in a small parlour with a view of the fjord or, on the east side, in a beach hotel. If only a few guests come, a compact system is enough for me; for a large group I set up more. At first I only need the address from you.
If you are celebrating in your own living room or on the terrace, I set up a small rig that does not need a free power socket within reach. How much space is left for my equipment and from when I can deliver, we settle beforehand, so that on the day itself you only have to celebrate.
The venue lists birthdays, anniversaries and confirmations as occasions. According to the operator, the event area has 350 square metres across six rooms that can be connected, and the Optimist room offers about 20 square metres for up to 18 people. How much equipment you need for a small group, we will discuss beforehand.
The hotel is housed in a historic banker's villa with a large garden and a view of the fjord. For celebrations, the operator lists groups of 10 to 160 people. If you celebrate in summer, we will decide together whether the music starts in the garden or indoors.
According to the operator, besides the Kaisersaal there is the Schifferstube for up to 12 people, the Kommodoresaal for up to 60 and a bar overlooking the fjord. For the end of the party, the venue mentions the bar. For a group in the Schifferstube, a small system is enough.
According to the operator, the hotel's wine vault suits celebrations in a small circle, and the rooftop lounge bar DECK 8 holds up to 46 people with a panoramic view over the fjord. In a glazed bar I check beforehand how loud your music may be.
For birthdays the venue lists the Luzifer im Seeblick, and the operator also mentions the 40th birthday. The hotel is on the Baltic beach in Möltenort. Whether indoors or on the terrace depends on your wishes, and I plan the setup accordingly.

Who I am
You invite everyone to Kiel, I bring the sound. I came to the booth in a nightclub, later it became private and corporate parties, and by now it is more than 1450 events. To me a good party does not follow a rigid plan, it needs someone who listens.
Classics and current hits flow into each other in my edits without a break, so that your older and younger guests both come onto the floor. Tell me what you like and what you do not, and your evening will come together while you celebrate relaxed.
How it works
Send me the date and place of your party, and I will get back to you the same or the next day, followed by a video call, set-up and the party. I answer questions in between myself.

My mobile number comes with the booking, because WhatsApp is the quickest way to reach me. Seven days before the celebration, we go through requested songs, no-gos and the schedule together.
Before the guests arrive I set up, and I need around 40 minutes for setup and sound check. I clear up any last questions with you or the venue, so that everything runs calmly and unobtrusively.
While the guests arrive, subtle lounge music plays and leaves room for first conversations. For the birthday guest of honor and for special moments, I pick out exactly the right music.
For every program item I provide the fitting accompaniment, from dinner and speeches and announcements at the mic to games, surprises and the cake cutting.
As soon as people dance, the music is in my hands. I read the mood, change the set on the spot to suit the guests and keep young and old on the floor until the last song.

For your birthday I put together a set that belongs only to you, and develop it as the party goes on. Tracks from different decades also bring those onto the floor who only wanted to watch. A balcony, a garden or the living room is enough for me, as I carry my compact setup in myself. If a slideshow is playing or someone is giving a speech, I take the music down immediately.

My spot at the booth measures 2.5 x 1.5 metres, setup takes about 40 minutes, and after the party I pack everything up myself. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
You alone decide on extras like lighting, photo station, live music or an audio guest book, and I take care of the rest of the coordination.

That usually works well if the venue gives me a power socket and a reasonably dry spot. Outdoors I keep the volume at a level that annoys nobody, and I talk to the host beforehand.
Then I start with what everyone knows and feel my way from there towards bolder tracks. You enter your requests in advance, and your no-gos remain binding.
For a milestone birthday, rather two to three months in advance; for a small gathering a few weeks are often enough. I will get back to you about your date within one day at the latest.
Yes, in a no-obligation video call you tell me about your party, and I will honestly tell you whether I am the right person for it. Only after that do you receive an offer.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
