Celebrating in Pforzheim
Whether you celebrate under vaulted arches or on a meadow helps decide how I set up and tune the system and speakers. Five places are available for your birthday: a vaulted cellar with a bar, a house with a meadow and campfire, a cultural centre, a palm garden in a hotel and a converted gas holder.
Your birthday in Pforzheim can take place under vaulted arches, in a cultural center, in a hotel or outdoors by a campfire. Whether twelve friends or half the extended family show up, I tailor my setup to it, and you only tell me the venue.
At home, in the living room or the garden, I get by with little space, and a compact battery-powered setup is enough if necessary. Whatever else I need to know, we go over briefly by phone before the party.
In the house's vaulted cellar there is a bar with a dance floor under vaulted arches, and the Great Hall has a stage and a terrace. Because only one celebration per day takes place in the house, you discuss times and equipment with the operator and I adapt accordingly.
The house lists family anniversaries and parties with friends as occasions, plus barbecues by the campfire. If you're celebrating outdoors, I plan the music so that it works without mains power and your guests can still talk.
The cultural center rents out accessible rooms with modern event technology and explicitly names birthdays as a private occasion. Whether twenty friends or half the family come, the guest count determines how much equipment I bring.
According to the operator, the hotel's palm garden holds up to 90 people on 120 square metres and has a dance floor. For a group of that size, a compact setup is enough for me, and I'll clarify beforehand what the house provides itself.
The gasometer from 1912 is now an event and exhibition building, and the Parkhotel lists it as an event location for up to 500 people. In a listed building, I ask beforehand which equipment the house allows.

Who I am
You invite people to Pforzheim, and I provide the sound. I learned to DJ in a nightclub, and private and corporate parties followed later, over 1450 so far. I don't need a rigid schedule for a good party, an open ear is enough for me.
My edits let classics and current hits flow into one another, so older and younger guests dance together. Tell me beforehand what you'd like and what shouldn't be played, and then you can enjoy the evening yourself. In the end, what matters is that you feel good at your party.
How it works
Tell me the date and place, I'll get back to you within a day, and then come the video call, setup and the celebration. In between, I'm here for your questions.
Request a dateYou write to me, and I get back to you by the next day at the latest. On the short video call you tell me about your celebration, and afterwards you receive your quote.
After booking, you get my mobile number; I'm easiest to reach via WhatsApp. About a week before the party, we go through requested songs, no-gos and schedule once more.
Before the first guests arrive, I set up and do the sound check. Whatever is still open, I clarify with you or the venue so that nothing gets in the way.
On arrival, soft lounge music plays and gets conversations going. For the birthday guest or a special moment, I pick out the fitting music.
During the meal, speeches at the microphone, games, surprises and the cutting of the cake, I provide the right sound each time, so every item on the program gets its own atmosphere.
As soon as the dancing starts, I take over the direction. I sense the mood, adapt the set to your guests and keep young and old on the floor until the last track plays.

Your birthday gets a set from me that is tailored to you and your guests and changes over the course of the night. When tracks from several decades play, even those who first only wanted to watch will dance along. A balcony, a garden or your living room is enough for me, because I carry my small setup in myself. As soon as a slideshow starts or someone gives a speech, I turn the music down right away.

Current hits play alongside classics from many decades, and I collect your wishes beforehand rather than just working through them rigidly.
Before your guests arrive, the equipment is set up and checked, and after the party I clear everything away again. For that I need about 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
Whether lighting, photo station, live music or an audio guestbook join in is up to you, and I coordinate everything for you.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
