Celebrating in Recklinghausen
A pub in the old town, a clubhouse on the edge of town or a garden in the Vest: every place carries music differently, and I shape my proposal for your party accordingly. You can celebrate your birthday in Recklinghausen in a hotel, in a former colliery hall, in the festival hall or in a castle in the neighbouring town. I introduce four addresses here that you can enquire at.
A birthday in Recklinghausen can take place in a pub, a hall, a club room or at your home. Depending on the venue, the equipment and volume change, so the first thing I want to know is where you are celebrating.
If there is no mains connection near you, I work with a battery. Where I stand, how much space I get and what else is needed in terms of power, you tell me in advance. After about 40 minutes I am ready to start.
The house on Augustinessenstraße promotes celebrations and parties on a page of its own and has five conference rooms, one of them with a stucco ceiling and a fireplace. Whether your birthday can take place there and which room suits your number of guests is something you ask the hotel; after that we discuss the technology.
This hall stands on the grounds of the former König Ludwig colliery and today serves the Ruhrfestspiele as a studio stage. The foyer has a lounge with old cinema seats. Whether a private party is possible there is something you clarify with the festival; I adapt my setup to the room.
The festival hall in the Stadtgarten dates from 1965 and was converted into a congress and conference venue in 1998. For a milestone birthday with many guests it is a thought experiment; whether and how that is possible can only be answered by the venue itself.
The castle park in Herten, around 30 hectares in size, was laid out between 1814 and 1817 as an English landscape park. Concerts take place in the castle. Whether you can celebrate privately there is something you ask the operators.
Building, rooms and use are taken from Wikipedia and the websites of the operators named (as of October 2026). Only the venue itself knows whether your date is free and how many guests fit.
Who I am
You celebrate in Recklinghausen, and I build the music that suits your evening. I learned the craft in a discotheque, and private and corporate parties followed, until over 1,450 events had added up. In a city with clubs, a university and many neighbourhoods, I often see colleagues, teammates and family at the same table at birthdays.
From older hits and new tracks I cut edits so that everyone ends up on the same floor. Tell me in advance what you like and what is out of the question; then you can enjoy your evening without a worry.
How it works
For the first message, the date and place are enough; I get back to you the same or the next day. Everything else, from setup to your wishes, we settle in the video call.

With the booking you get my mobile number, because WhatsApp is the fastest way to sort out most things. About a week before the party we go through requested songs, no-gos and schedule.
Before your guests arrive, I set everything up in about 40 minutes and test the sound. I clear up open points with you or the venue, so that nothing gets in the way later.
When guests arrive, gentle lounge music plays that gets conversations going. For you as the birthday guest of honour and for special moments, I choose the right song.
I accompany the programme with music too: quiet during dinner, with a microphone for speeches and announcements, and with fitting pieces for games, surprises and the cake.
As soon as people dance, I take over the direction, watch the mood and adapt the set to your guests until the last track fades out.

Current hits and classics from several decades play side by side in my sets; I check your requested songs one by one in advance.
Setting up in an area of around 2.5 by 1.5 metres takes me about 40 minutes, and after the last track I pack everything away again. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
You can add the photo station, uplights and live music, and I take care of the coordination.

Gladly, I collect the songs that define your decade with you and arrange them into an arc. So that younger guests come along too, I slip in a few newer tracks.
To start, I pick tracks that both old and young know, and watch who starts moving first. I take my cue from that for your set.
Yes, my small setup runs for several hours on battery and needs no mains connection. Tell me beforehand how big the lawn is and how many guests are coming, and I will plan the speakers for you.
Send me your date, I will check my calendar and usually reply the next day. If a lot is going on in the city, get in touch early so I can secure the date for you.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
