Wedding venues in Recklinghausen
First I ask whether you are celebrating in a manor house, an industrial hall or a castle in the countryside, because that determines how I place speakers and lights. Four addresses show you how different a wedding around Recklinghausen can be: a manor house in the old town, a hall on a former colliery site, the festival house in the Stadtgarten and a moated castle in neighbouring Herten.
The places where you can marry around Recklinghausen are remarkably varied: a manor house with a stucco ceiling, a tall hall from the mining era, a castle with a park. Which speakers and lighting I choose depends on the room you pick.
Historic buildings come with stairs, narrow doors and long distances, so I ask about them early. After about 40 minutes I am done and check the sound, still without an audience.
The hotel is housed in a manor house more than 300 years old and advertises its own area for weddings. There are five conference rooms to choose from, one with a stucco ceiling and fireplace; outside lies the castle garden. Which room suits your number of guests is something you will find out at the house, and then I plan the dance floor.
The hall lies on the grounds of the former König Ludwig colliery and today serves the Ruhrfestspiele as a studio stage. The operators describe its industrial charm. Whether and how you can celebrate there is something you clarify with the festival; for such a high room, I plan the sound in advance.
The house in the city garden opened in 1965 and was converted into a congress and conference venue from 1996 to 1998. Whether a wedding celebration is possible there and which hall fits is something you ask the house; after that we discuss speakers and schedule.
The moated castle was first mentioned in 1376 and stands in a landscape park of about 30 hectares. Cultural events such as the Hertener Schlosskonzerte take place in the castle. I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.
Who I am
At your wedding in Recklinghausen, miners' families, university friends and relatives from all over the Vest often sit together at one table. So that everyone is on the same floor after dinner, I build the transitions between soul, disco and current hits myself, until no seam can be heard.
What you want to hear and what must never be played, you enter in advance in the wedding portal, and we go through it together in a video call. On the night I follow the guests, and I take care of the arrangements with the venue, photographer and catering at the same time, so that you can experience the day itself.
How it works
A date and a venue are enough for the first message, and I reply the same or the next day. We then discuss the details in a video call, from setup to schedule.
Request a dateIf you send me the date and place, I reply the same day or within 24 hours at the latest. You do not commit to anything in the video call: we get to know each other, you tell me your ideas, and the offer follows only afterwards.
With the booking I open your wedding portal. There you enter requested songs, taboos and the schedule, and about a week before the celebration we go through the day by phone.
On the wedding day I arrive in good time, set everything up in about 40 minutes, test the sound and coordinate with the officiant, photographer and catering staff.
I accompany the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit with the songs you have chosen. Discreet lounge music plays during the reception; if there is no power socket, battery-powered equipment steps in.
During dinner the music stays quiet. Speeches go through a wireless microphone, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I pick a fitting song each time.
You open the dance with your chosen song. After that I watch the floor and change the set piece by piece, until all generations sing along to the final track.

Setup and sound check take about 40 minutes; I need a space of 2.5 by 1.5 metres and pack down on my own afterwards. About 2.5 m in width and 1.5 m in depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

I accompany the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit with battery-powered equipment, so you need neither cables nor a power socket nearby.
I can add a photo booth, live music, uplights and an audio guest book for you and coordinate everything on your behalf.

Yes, I start with tracks that suit the mood of the evening and only open the floor once your guests are ready for it. If you are planning a special item, such as a short performance, I will allow for space and sound.
High rooms of stone and steel carry sound for a long time, so I check it with a test run before your guests arrive. Then I set the speakers and levels so that speech and music stay clear, and I adjust again once the hall is full.
A summer Saturday is booked early, so you should plan with a lead time of a few months. Send me your date, I will reply within a day and hold the date for you without obligation.
For the reception I play quiet music that helps your guests settle in without drowning out conversation. When things get livelier, I decide by the mood in the room and not by the clock.
