Celebrations in Reutlingen
A mountain hut, a hotel salon and a party hall each call for a different sound, so I tailor my suggestion to your room and your guests. Four venues are on offer for your birthday: a mountain hut with permanently installed dance-floor lighting, small salons in a hotel, a hall with a terrace and a glasshouse with a fire pit.
Your birthday in Reutlingen fits into a mountain hut on the edge of the Alb, a salon in a hotel or a hall with a terrace. Because every room carries sound differently and sounds different, I choose the system and the set-up to suit it.
If the party takes place in a tall room with wood and glass, I need more headroom in the sound than in a carpeted salon. Also tell me if your guests prefer chatting at the edge to dancing, because the music can be arranged so that there is room for both.
At the Achalm Hof, birthdays and anniversaries are expressly named as occasions. The Almhütte measures 240 square metres and has its own outdoor area by the natural pond, and according to the operator the sound system and dance floor lighting are permanently installed. Whether we use the house system or mine, we agree beforehand.
For smaller parties, the Hotel Achalm lists the Turmzimmer for up to 30 and the Kastanienzimmer for up to 50 people, while larger groups find space in the Schafstall. In a restaurant room a small set-up is enough for me, and the music stays quiet enough for your guests to talk.
The Hotel Fortuna has a divisible event hall on the ground floor which, according to the house, holds up to 400 people, and it mentions a sunny terrace. If you are celebrating in a smaller group, the hall can be made smaller, and I place the dance floor and tables close enough together that the atmosphere is not lost.
The Glashaus Events is an event hall with room for up to 130 guests at round tables, with a dance floor and a stage; outside there is a lit fountain, a fire pit and a lounge corner. Please ask the venue directly about how it operates; after that we agree how the dance floor and tables are arranged so that nobody ends up sitting off to the side.

Who I am
You decide how your evening in Reutlingen sounds, and I deliver the sound to go with it. I learned the craft at a club DJ booth, then weddings, corporate evenings and birthdays followed, more than 1450 events so far. For me a good birthday does not need a rigid schedule, but someone who listens.
In my edits, classics and current hits flow seamlessly into one another, so cousins and aunts dance on the same floor. Tell me beforehand what you love and what is out of the question, and the evening will work, and you can relax and celebrate yourself.
How it works
Send me the date and place, and I will get back to you the same day or the next, followed by a video call and arrangements right up to the first track.

Once you have booked, you get my mobile number. I am quick to reach on WhatsApp, and about a week before the party we settle requests, no-gos and the schedule.
Before the guests arrive, I set up, and a soundcheck and a look around the room are part of that. I clear up open questions with you or the venue so that everything starts smoothly.
On arrival, understated lounge music plays so that conversations can develop. For the birthday guest of honour or a special moment, I choose music that suits it.
I give the highlights of the evening the right sound: music for the meal, a microphone for speeches and announcements, tracks for games, surprises and the cutting of the cake.
Once the dance floor is open, the evening is in my hands. I sense the mood, change the set spontaneously and keep young and old moving until the last song has faded.

Current hits sit alongside classics from many decades, I collect your requests in advance, and when in doubt the dance floor decides.
I arrive in good time before your guests, check the sound in the room and pack everything away myself after the celebration. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth is enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
You decide which extras to add: lighting, photo station, live music or audio guest book, and I take care of the coordination.

Yes, two wireless microphones are part of my equipment. If a speech, a quiz or a surprise is coming up, I lower the music at the right moment and bring it back up afterwards.
To start, I choose songs that are familiar to everyone and watch the dance floor to see which direction the group wants to go. From there I lead step by step to your favourite tracks.
Many people fix milestone birthdays early, so write to me months ahead if you can. For a small party, a few weeks is enough, and within a day I will let you know whether your date is still open.
I am happy to take requests. If the track fits the mood, I mix it in, and if it is tricky, I build a transition first so that it does not sound out of place.

To begin with, you tell me the date, the room and how many guests are coming. Then we talk without hurry about what you like to hear, and I note down whatever gets called out from your group during the evening.

Transparency
Nothing but schlager and Ballermann for hours on end? I'm happy to let the odd crowd-pleaser run when your guests ask for it, because they belong at a good birthday party. Building my whole evening on them isn't for me, though. Nor am I a fit for techno sets that ignore the crowd, for request lists worked through rigidly, or for festivals with several stages. I leave that to colleagues who are good at it and enjoy it; I have nothing against them, it's simply not my field.
I play live, for guests with a feel for the moment: the transitions are tight, the song suits the hour, and nothing just runs on autopilot. That is why I would rather tell you in advance what I don't offer than have you annoyed on the night.
