My name is Michael Zimmermann and I'm a party DJ, and I shape your birthday in Salzburg live at the decks, without a fixed playlist and with an eye on your guests. I first mixed records more than 25 years ago, since 2004 private celebrations have been my everyday work, and more than 1450 events have taught me to read the mood in the room early. I don't put myself at the centre, because your evening should live from the music.

Parties in town and surroundings
I read rooms closely: a tavern room sounds different from a hall in a castle, and I tailor my system to that when planning with you. I've put together five addresses for your party, from the country inn in Hallwang via the Grünauerhof in Wals and Schloss Hellbrunn to the Müllner Bräu and the Erentrudisalm in Elsbethen.
If you celebrate your birthday in Salzburg, you often choose between a rustic parlour, a conservatory and a festive castle hall. The rooms of the venues Kirchbichl, Grünauerhof and Hellbrunn hold from 80 to 250 people, and I adapt my system to your number of guests.
Whether alpine hut room, garden house or your living room: I always have a compact system with me that can manage without a power socket in an emergency. I clarify sockets, set-up time and floor space with you in good time, so that on the day of the party you have nothing to organise except your guest list.
The Landgasthof in the municipality of Hallwang, in the area around the city, explicitly names birthdays among its occasions. According to the operator, the conservatory offers up to 140 seats, and the Salettl is also available as a party room of its own. I set up my equipment to suit the room you choose.
The venue in the municipality of Wals, in the area around the city, lists the milestone birthday as an occasion. According to the operator, the Untersbergstube holds up to 80 people, and several parlours offer space for 20 to 80. A compact system fits best there, and I set it up according to your number of guests.
Schloss Hellbrunn lists the milestone birthday and the wedding anniversary as occasions. According to the operator, parlours and festive halls offer room for up to 250 people. The room size differs considerably between parlour and hall, so I agree the sound system and set-up with you and the venue beforehand.
The Müllner Bräu in the Augustinerbräu Kloster Mülln lists birthday parties, anniversaries and class reunions as occasions. According to the operator, reservations are possible from 8 people. For a group of this size I plan sound and set-up with you as soon as the room and number of guests are settled.
The alpine inn in the municipality of Elsbethen, in the surroundings of the city, lists birthdays and family celebrations as occasions. According to the operator, thirty people fit in the house chapel, and there are also a festive hall, parlour and conservatory. Which equipment suits which room, I clarify with you beforehand.

Who I am
Hi, your birthday is happening in Salzburg, and I'm there. It began for me in the club in 1998, and since 2004 private and corporate parties have been added, over 1450 events. For me, a party lives from the mood in the room, so I pay attention to what lands with your guests and adapt my set.
The Salzburger Dult around Whitsun is a folk festival with roots in the 10th century, so your celebrating has tradition. In the background I let the music do the work, and it is your evening. My own edits connect songs that otherwise never play side by side, and if you tell me your wishes beforehand, your songs get their turn too.
How it works

Request a dateEverything starts with your enquiry, and I will get in touch the day after. We get to know each other in a short video call, you tell me about your celebration, and I put together an offer for you.
With your confirmation comes the direct line: my private mobile number, reachable via WhatsApp. Seven days before your celebration, we look together at song requests, no-gos and the schedule.
My equipment arrives with me one to two hours before the start, then I set everything up and check the sound. I talk to you or the venue, and later the technology stays in the background.
Relaxed lounge music plays in the background, making it easy for your guests to arrive and chat. I give the birthday guest of honour and every special moment the right musical stage.
At the table you hear atmospheric music, and the microphone is ready for speeches and announcements. When games, surprises or the cutting of the cake come up, I give every moment the right soundtrack.
Now everyone is allowed to dance, and I take charge: I keep adapting the set to the dance floor so that young and old come together and stay until the last song.

+49 176 700 580 27Especially with a small group, I make sure the music suits the conversation and only picks up when someone at your party wants to dance. If the venue has a usable system, I use it, otherwise I bring my own. I keep the set-up small so that your parlour keeps its charm.
Yes, a wireless microphone is ready for you, and I fade out the music as soon as you want to speak. A short sign to me is enough, and as soon as you are done, I take over the music again. How much hosting you want beyond that, we discuss when we get to know each other, because I tend to hold back with announcements.
I'm happy to take your guests' requests, they only need to drop by my decks briefly. Your list is my starting point, and where a track would slow the mood right now, I play it later. That way your evening stays flexible without me taking the dramaturgy out of your hands.
Anyone planning a milestone birthday in a fixed venue is best off writing to me three to six months beforehand, then there is plenty of time for everything else. Shorter notice is sometimes possible too, so just tell me your date, and I reply within 24 hours.
On request I arrange musicians from my network for you, for example for saxophone, vocals, violin or percussion, who play over my mix. You tell me whether you imagine an appearance at the reception or late in the evening, and I plan the moment in. Which point of the evening suits it, we will think over together with you in the preliminary chat.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
