Company parties in Freiburg
Concert hall, exhibition hall or hotel salon: in a congress and university city the rooms differ greatly, so I first ask about the programme and the room. Six addresses from Münsterplatz to the Messe show how different your company evening can look: as a dinner in a small circle, as a gala in the hall or as a party for hundreds.
For your event in Freiburg a hall on the Münsterplatz, the concert hall, the trade fair or a banquet hall on the Schlossberg come into question. How much sound is needed depends on the room, so we discuss occasion, guest numbers and format with you first.
In a trade fair hall I first ask where the reception and the dance floor are, in an old merchants' hall which equipment fits in. Which programme items come when we enter in the briefing, and I take care of set-up and dismantling.
The Historisches Kaufhaus on the south side of Münsterplatz lists congresses, conferences, events and concerts. According to the operator, the Kaisersaal holds up to 350 people, and there are also the Rokokosaal, Kaminsaal and an inner courtyard. In a building from the 16th century, we agree early on how much equipment fits.
The Konzerthaus rents rooms for congresses, conferences, events and concerts and names gala banquet and Konzerthausball as examples. The building includes the Rolf Böhme Saal, the Runde Saal and several foyers. For a gala, I first ask where people dance and where they dine.
The Messe Freiburg lists company events among the events for which rooms can be rented, and has halls of up to 21,000 square metres, Hall 4 as the SICK-ARENA and several conference rooms. With halls of this size, we talk early about sound reinforcement and possible technical partners.
The Schlossbergrestaurant Dattler lists company and client events, Christmas parties, conferences and seminars and has two banquet halls on the Schlossberg. The Saal Freiburg is intended for larger conferences, the Saal Schlossberg for small ones. Where lecture and dance meet, we plan routes and loudspeakers together.
The Hotel Schloss Reinach in Munzingen offers company parties and conferences and lists rooms, packages and additional conference technology under conferences. If the venue already has equipment, we agree what I use and what I bring along.
The Colombi Hotel offers several daylight salons for conferences, meetings and celebrations. The Salon Innsbruck measures 140 square metres and, according to the hotel, holds 80 guests at a banquet, the Salon Besançon 143 square metres and 120 guests. For speeches and dancing in the same building, we plan the rooms one after the other.

Who I am
Welcome, speeches, dance floor: how your evening in Freiburg unfolds determines how I build the music. I learned the craft in the club, and by now over 1450 events have come from it, private and corporate. In a preliminary talk we agree with you when speeches take place and when the party starts.
I make my own transitions so that no section ends abruptly. I bring the equipment and wireless microphones, and I do the set-up and sound check myself. If the venue has technical support, I coordinate directly with them so that nobody has to search on the day of the event.

I read the room to see who reacts to which track and steer the mix accordingly, instead of playing through a list. I have been bridging company culture and party mood for years, including for corporations such as Audi, BMW, Microsoft or Amazon. Between dinner and party I plan in some breathing space, so that a long speech does not kill the momentum. I cover up to 150 guests with my standard system, and for larger events I bring in reliable technical partners.

Your music wish list is the starting point, I take care of the arrangements with the venue and service providers, and I consistently drop tracks that don't suit the occasion once you tell me.

Your program ranges from seventies soul to the current charts, we agree on it in advance, and I blend the styles together.
Setup takes about 40 minutes and needs roughly 2.5 by 1.5 meters of space, and after the last track I pack everything up again. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth is enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or elevators) setup takes around 40 minutes.

I treat a gala or a company anniversary with the same commitment as any other celebration, from the first guest to the farewell.

+49 176 700 580 27I decide that based on the data sheet and photos you send me beforehand. If the house system is good, I connect to it; if not, I set up my own. You will know after the first conversation.
Up to about 150 guests I cover with my own standard system alone. If you expect more, I will name a technical partner early on, so that late additions do not throw your evening off course.
Between arrival, dinner and speech there are short transitions, and that is exactly where I place music. I only pick up the microphone when your schedule includes an announcement; after the last speech the mix slowly builds, and the party starts by itself.
In the foyer the music stays quiet enough for conversation, and in the hall I raise the volume and tempo step by step up to the dance floor. We agree the timing of the move from the foyer to the hall in a conversation with you and the venue.
My wish for you: four to eight weeks between your message and the date, and gladly more for particularly extensive programmes or peak times in the calendar. You will get an answer by the next day at the latest, and I send the invoice after the event, payable within 7 days.
That works: a saxophonist, a violinist, vocals or percussion from my network join my set live. I time the appearance best when your guests are waiting for the next course. Which point in the programme it suits, we decide with you in the briefing.

If you want live music already at the reception or dinner, I'll arrange a well-rehearsed band of two to four musicians for you. After that I keep playing without a break, and because the planning is in my hands, I remain your single point of contact.

This is how it works for your corporate event in Freiburg: you tell me the occasion, date and expected number of guests, then we discuss music, schedule and room in a video call. Shortly before the date we go through the stations of the evening with you in the briefing. On the day itself I set up in about 40 minutes and check the sound in the empty room. For up to 150 guests my system is enough, for larger events I bring in technical partners.

Transparency
A pure Ballermann and schlager programme? That is not part of my repertoire. A few sing-along titles are welcome at company parties, but building a whole evening on them goes against my style. The same goes for techno with no connection to your audience, for rigid request lists and for festivals with several stages. There are colleagues who do exactly that gladly and well.
My strength is mixing live for guests with a sense for the right moment: precise transitions, the right track at the right time, rather than letting a playlist run. That is why I would rather tell you straight away what I don't offer than have you disappointed on the night.
If that doesn't suit your event, I'm not the right choice, and that's perfectly fine. If it does, we'll discuss everything else.
