I am Michael Zimmermann and I shape the music of your wedding in Freiburg, from the aperitif to dancing into the night. I have accompanied over 650 weddings in my more than 1450 events over more than 25 years. Wedding Venues in Freiburg
Before planning, I ask whether you are celebrating in the old town, on the Schlossberg or in the wine country, because vaults, halls and hillsides each sound different. I present five venues: a hall on the Schlossberg, a castle in Munzingen, a hotel in Lehen, the salons of a hotel on the Rotteckring and a restaurant at the Waldsee. For each one I develop the set-up and schedule with you.
You have the choice in Freiburg of a hall high above the rooftops, a manor house on the edge of the city or a garden with a terrace. Every setting has its own sound, and I adapt the system, positioning and sequence to it.
A hall with a high ceiling carries music differently from a garden reception, and I factor that into the speakers and lighting. You note your requests and no-go songs for the evening in the portal before I put the set together. For setup I allow 40 minutes, after which I check the sound in the empty room.
The Dattler lists weddings first among its occasions and presents two self-contained banquet halls, the Saal Freiburg and the Saal Schlossberg. For smaller celebrations, tables are available in the panorama restaurant. Where the dancing takes place after the meal, we settle in advance, and then I plan my spot.
The Hotel Schloss Reinach in Munzingen has wedding celebrations as its own category under Feiern & heiraten and shows the Saal Reinach. The house sees itself as a setting for different group sizes. In a house with several rooms, I clarify beforehand where your reception and where the dance floor will be.
The Hirschen in Lehen lists weddings alongside engagements, birthdays and christenings and offers bright rooms for 10 to 150 guests, and in good weather also a garden and sun terrace. Whether you celebrate indoors or move out to the terrace decides which equipment I pack.
The Colombi hosts conferences, meetings and celebrations of every kind, but its website does not mention dedicated wedding packages. The salons have daylight, and according to the hotel the Salon Besançon holds 120 guests for a banquet. We discuss in advance which set-up I bring to a salon of this size.
The restaurant at the Waldsee lists weddings as well as golden and silver wedding anniversaries and celebrates in the restaurant, in the hall, on the large terrace or, in good weather, under the open sky. Outdoors a lot depends on power and weather, so we go through plan B early.
I looked up rooms, capacities and occasions on the operators' websites (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free and how many guests fit into the house, only the venue itself can tell you.
I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.
Who I am
You are getting married in a city with a cathedral tower, Bächle streams and vineyards all around, and that mix should be heard in your music. I learned the craft in the club, later weddings and company evenings came along, and today there are over 650 weddings. Student friends, parents and grandparents dance together at your wedding, because I join tracks from many decades with my own edits.
Beforehand you tell me what matters to you, and on the night no guest notices any of it. If you like, I discuss with you in advance how long the evening should last and when the buffet opens.
How it works
Send me the date and venue, and you will get a reply within 24 hours. A video call, arrangements with the venue and the set-up before the celebration follow.
Request a dateYou give me the date and venue, and I get back to you the same day, within 24 hours at the latest. The video call commits you to nothing: we get to know each other, collect ideas, and afterwards you receive your quote.
With the booking, the wedding portal opens, a web app for favourite songs, no-gos, special moments and the schedule. About a week beforehand we talk on the phone and go through the programme step by step.
On the wedding day I arrive in good time, set up in around 40 minutes, check the sound in the empty room and coordinate with the speaker, photographer and service staff.
For the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit, the pieces you have chosen are played. At the reception, subtle lounge music plays, and if there is no power socket outside, the battery steps in.
During the meal the music stays quiet. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I pick the fitting track each time.
Your requested edit opens the dancing, then I watch the floor and keep adjusting the set until young and old celebrate the last track together.

Setup and soundcheck take a good 40 minutes, the system needs only 2.5 by 1.5 metres of space, and after the last track I pack everything away myself. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
Outdoor
For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit the music runs on a battery, so no cable to a power socket is needed.
Photo booth, live music, uplights and audio guestbook can be added, and I handle the coordination.

Gladly. You give me your entrance song, the music for the ring exchange and the exit, and I play them in, and thanks to the battery my system needs no power socket. Whether the ceremony is allowed at your chosen spot is something you clear with the operator of the venue.
I start with tracks almost everyone knows and feel my way from there in both directions. From classics, soul and current hits I build my own transitions so that nothing changes abruptly. You enter your favourite tracks and no-gos in the portal beforehand.
That can be arranged: from my network, saxophone, violin, vocals or percussion join in live and play over my mix. Whether the performance comes at the aperitif or before the opening dance, we will discuss in a video call.
Yes, even then, because my standard system is designed for up to 150 guests, for a small group I set up less, and 2.5 by 1.5 metres of space at the desk is enough for me.
Summer Saturdays are taken quickly, so you should enquire early. For the cooler months, I plan on roughly three to six months of lead time. My answer on whether the day is still available reaches you by the day after your enquiry at the latest.

Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

You send me the date, venue and number of guests, then we talk in a video call about music, schedule and the moments that matter to you. A few days before the celebration I call you, and we go through the day once more.
