Company parties in Gelsenkirchen

Company parties in Gelsenkirchen.

Stadium, theater foyer or glass building: In a city that has moved from mining to energy and science, the venues turn out very different, which is why I first ask about the program and location. Six addresses from the arena to the zoo show how different your company evening can look: as a reception in a glass building, as an evening in a theater foyer or as a summer party under the open sky.

Stadium or glass building: corporate event in Gelsenkirchen

Whether stadium area, theater foyer in a listed building, glass building or park by the canal: in Gelsenkirchen the range is wide, and the room determines how loud it may get for you. That is why I first ask you about the area and the number of guests.

In a listed building I first discuss routes and standing areas with the venue, in a modern hall more the amount of equipment. We put your program items and their order in writing, and I handle the transport including dismantling myself.

Veltins-Arena

Erle, Berger Feld

The arena, opened in 2001, holds 62,271 spectators for football matches and is also used for concerts and other large events. Whether and in which areas company parties are possible there is up to the operator. For rooms of this size, we clarify early who provides the sound system.

Wissenschaftspark Gelsenkirchen

Munscheidstraße 14, Ückendorf

The glass building by Uwe Kiessler, about 300 meters long, stands on the grounds of a former steelworks. According to Wikipedia, exhibitions, trade fairs and receptions take place in the glazed main hall. The operator can tell you which areas you can book for your occasion; your schedule then determines the setup and levels.

Nordsternturm

Nordsternpark, Horst

The tower of Shaft II, with its glass cube and Hercules statue, measures 103 meters and has been finished since autumn 2010. The park around it lies on the Rhine-Herne Canal and was the site of the Federal Garden Show in 1997. Whether you can use areas in the tower for your event is something to clarify with the operator.

Schloss Horst

Horst, Gelsenkirchen

According to Wikipedia, the Renaissance castle offers a covered inner courtyard for events and temporary exhibitions as well as a restaurant in the cellar. For a company anniversary, that is a setting with history. The city can tell you who allocates the rooms; after that I coordinate routes and power with the venue.

Musiktheater im Revier

Kennedyplatz, Schalke

The house opened on 15 December 1959, the Large Auditorium has 1,004 seats, and works by Yves Klein hang in the foyer. The building has been a listed monument since 1997. The operator knows whether foyers are rented out for company evenings; in a listed building, I clarify setup and routes especially early.

ZOOM Erlebniswelt

Gelsenkirchen

The zoo is divided into Alaska, Africa and Asia across roughly 31 hectares and is run by the Stadtwerke Gelsenkirchen. The zoo itself can tell you whether a company party can take place there. Under the open sky, we plan weather protection for the equipment from the start.

Rooms, occasions and size details come from Wikipedia and the operators named (as of October 2026). Please discuss available dates directly with the venue concerned.

Who I am

Michael Zimmermann – beats per micha.

When you welcome guests, give speeches and let people dance determines how I structure my music in Gelsenkirchen. I started out in a nightclub, and by now I count over 1450 events, from family celebrations to company evenings. In the preliminary talk we decide where speeches fit in.

I cut the transitions between songs myself, so no program item breaks off. System, wireless microphones, setup and sound check are part of my service. I keep pauses in the mix ready for speeches and awards. If the venue provides its own technicians, I coordinate with them directly.

Music genres

From seventies soul to current charts, we agree your programme beforehand, and I blend the styles into one whole.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

My setup takes around 40 minutes and needs about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and after the last track I take everything away again. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

I take a gala or a company anniversary just as seriously as any other celebration, from the first guest to the farewell.

If you wish, I include live music, a photo station or uplights in the same coordination.

Good questions

What organizers in Gelsenkirchen want to know.

These are the questions organisers ask me most often, and if yours is missing, simply pick up the phone.

We are an energy company in Gelsenkirchen and are celebrating with 120 people from several shifts: How do you plan the music?

First I ask you when each shift arrives and divide the evening into stages: titles for chatting first, dance music later. We gather requests from your departments together before the date.

The evening begins with an award ceremony in the theater foyer: How do you handle the transition to the party?

During the award ceremony I stay quietly in the background. I agree on a cue with you beforehand, and my first song then opens the room before your guests move on to dancing.

Our party takes place in a stadium lounge area with an in-house sound system: How do you work with the existing equipment?

Talk to the venue about whether its system should be used; I contact the technicians and clarify cable routes and cues. Whether I use my own system or add to the existing one, I will tell you before the date.

How far ahead should we enquire if the Christmas party falls in the first week of December?

For a Christmas party, plan on a lead time of usually four to eight weeks. Many evenings are taken, especially in early December, so the earlier you write to me, the safer your preferred day is.

We expect more than 150 guests: Is your equipment enough?

With my standard setup I cover parties of up to 150 people. Beyond that I add partner companies for the sound, so it sounds as good at the back of the hall as at the front; I will make you a proposal as soon as I know the room and the number.

Our employees range from the workshop floor to senior management: how do you make sure nobody is left out?

For the opening I choose songs that every generation knows, from the workshop to the management, and open up the style later. Whom I would like to see on the floor, we discuss beforehand in a short briefing with you.

What sets me apart

DJ+ – my extra for special evenings.

For vocals, violin, saxophone or percussion at your event, I put together musicians from my network. We decide beforehand when in the evening a performance works best.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Main-time peak · gala champagne reception

DJ + saxophone

At a reception in the foyer, a saxophone sounds relaxed and elegant, especially when the evening carries on into the night.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Summer party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

In a large room, percussion gives the mix punch without a whole band and its equipment having to show up, and the dance floor fills.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Live-band feeling · party time & special moments

DJ + vocals

If you want to combine an award ceremony with a party mood, add a singer who performs hits live and gets the whole workforce singing along.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Galas & awards · music from the first note

DJ + violin

A violin makes the reception of a gala feel festive right away, from the moment the first guests are welcomed at the cloakroom.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

If you want live music already at the reception or dinner, I'll arrange a well-rehearsed band of two to four musicians for you. After that I keep playing without a break, and because the planning is in my hands, I remain your single point of contact.

I also stand behind the decks for your company events in Gladbeck, Herten and Bottrop; you will find more places I work at the bottom of the page.

Describe the occasion, date and number of guests for your company event in Gelsenkirchen, and then we talk about room, music and program in a video call. In the briefing we fix when awards, speeches and buffet come and where pauses in the mix are needed. On the day itself my equipment is ready after about 40 minutes, and I check the sound in the empty room. My standard system is enough for up to 150 guests; for larger groups I bring in technology partners.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

A pure Ballermann and schlager programme? That is not part of my repertoire. A few sing-along titles are welcome at company parties, but building a whole evening on them goes against my style. The same goes for techno with no connection to your audience, for rigid request lists and for festivals with several stages. There are colleagues who do exactly that gladly and well.

My strength is mixing live for guests with a sense for the right moment: precise transitions, the right track at the right time, rather than letting a playlist run. That is why I would rather tell you straight away what I don't offer than have you disappointed on the night.

If that doesn't suit your event, I'm not the right choice, and that's perfectly fine. If it does, we'll discuss everything else.
