I am Michael Zimmermann, and as an event DJ I shape the music of your company party in Hamburg, from the first guest to the final track. More than 25 years and over 1450 events have shown me what a workforce spanning several generations wants to hear, and we discuss what you have in mind beforehand without time pressure. Corporate parties in Hamburg
Brick hall, saloon ship or hotel ballroom: in a port city the venues vary widely, so I first ask about the programme and the room. Six addresses, from the Fischauktionshalle and the grand hotel on the Alster to ships in the harbour, show the range for your company evening: a client event in a large hall, a summer party on board or a smaller celebration.
In Hamburg you can choose between a brick hall on the Elbe shore, a grand hotel on the Outer Alster and ships in the harbour. Beforehand I need the occasion, format and number of participants from you, because the scope and layout of my equipment depend on them.
On harbour ships the operator sets its own rules, and we will discuss early on how my music fits in. In a hotel ballroom the sound stays deliberately restrained. We arrange dinner, speeches and dancing together with you in the briefing, and the system is ready to play after about 40 minutes.
The Fischauktionshalle was built in 1895 and 1896 as a steel-frame structure with brick infill, has been a listed building since 1984 and, according to Wikipedia, is used today mainly for advertising and PR events by large companies. The hall has room for about 3500 visitors. At this size we plan the sound system and setup together early on.
According to the operator, the museum ship at the Überseebrücke offers around 2,000 square metres for parties and celebrations of 20 to 500 people. It was built in 1961 and 1962 for Hamburg Süd. The ship has its own rules on board, so I check with the operator beforehand where my equipment may stand.
The hotel on the Outer Alster opened in 1909 and, according to Wikipedia, has 13 event rooms for up to 1,200 guests. With so many rooms, I clarify with you in which part of the building your evening takes place and choose the equipment to suit its size.
The harbour shipping company lists conferences, receptions, summer parties, Christmas parties, client events and staff celebrations as occasions for its charters and hosts events with up to 1000 people. How the music fits the trip, we clarify beforehand with the operator.
Alster-Touristik rents out ships for corporate and business events, and according to the operator, a projector, screen and microphone system can be installed on the traditional ships. For a reception on the water, I adapt my equipment to what is already on board.
According to the operator, the hotel on the Elbchaussee has existed since 1791, lists event rooms and runs the launch MS Jacob for events on the Elbe. For your party, I decide after our initial conversation which equipment I plan for the rooms and which for the ship.
I took the rooms, occasions and capacity figures from the operators' websites and Wikipedia, as of October 2026. Whether a date is available, you can only find out directly from the respective venue.
Who I am
The structure of your evening in Hamburg shapes my music planning: first the welcome, then speeches, and dancing at the end. My first evenings behind the decks date back to 1998 in a nightclub; company parties and private celebrations followed later. When there is speaking and when there is celebrating, we settle with you in advance, by phone or video call.
I don't push myself into the foreground; my edits let the segments of your event flow into one another. On the day I bring the equipment and wireless microphones, set up and check the sound system in the room.

I hear in the room which track works for which generation and adjust the mix continuously instead of working through a list. I know the balancing act between company culture and party mood from evenings for Amazon, BMW, Audi or Microsoft. I keep time free for the transition from dinner to party, so that a long speech does not slow your evening down. For up to 150 guests I provide the complete equipment myself; for larger events I bring in reliable technical partners.

First comes your music wish list, then I take over the coordination with the venue and service providers, so you do not have to worry about it. Tracks and themes that do not suit your occasion, I note in our conversation and consistently leave out of the program.
Open Format
From the soul of the seventies to today's charts, we agree your music programme beforehand, and I combine the genres into one whole.
After about 40 minutes the setup stands on an area of roughly 2.5 by 1.5 metres; I also check the sound in peace and clear everything away myself after the last track. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup location, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

+49 176 700 580 27That depends on the house equipment; send me photos and specifications and I'll look at them in advance. If it's up to the job, I connect my controller; otherwise I set up my own PA. I'll tell you what I recommend in the preliminary conversation.
I design my sound system with a reserve, so additional guests go unnoticed. What I bring myself covers up to 150 people; if the group gets larger, specialists for extra equipment join in, and we talk about that in good time.
In the briefing we go through your programme, from the menu and speeches to the awards, so that I can prepare every cue in time. I make announcements only where your programme provides for them. Afterwards I guide the music step by step into the party.
During the reception the music plays in the background so conversations remain possible; in the hall I gradually turn it up until people are dancing. For the change of location we draw up a schedule together with a buffer in case a speech runs long, and I agree it with your venue.
December dates fill up quickly, so enquire earlier for a large event or at peak times; otherwise four to eight weeks is enough. You will have a reply from me by the day after your message at the latest. Payment is made after the event, and you pay the invoice within one week.
Gladly: from my network I will put you in touch with saxophonists, violinists, percussionists or singers who play live over my mix. A performance fits best at the reception or at the opening of the dance floor; we settle the time with you in the briefing.

If you want live music already at the reception or dinner, I'll arrange a well-rehearsed band of two to four musicians for you. After that I keep playing without a break, and because the planning is in my hands, I remain your single point of contact.

This is how we work together on your company event in Hamburg: you first tell me the occasion, date and number of guests, then in a video call we clarify music, programme and venue. The briefing shortly before the date sets the schedule for you. On the day of the event I am on site before admission and check the empty hall. My system alone serves small groups; for very large guest numbers I bring in technical partners.

Transparency
An evening made up only of Ballermann and schlager hits is not my programme. A few sing-along classics go down well at any company party, but for me they are an extra, nothing more. Nor do I offer techno that leaves the guests out, request lists that are worked through rigidly, or festival formats with several stages. If that's what you're looking for, you're better off with colleagues who specialise in it.
I mix live for guests who expect an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, more than pressing play. That is why I tell you in advance what I don't do, so that you aren't disappointed on the night.
If that doesn't suit your event, I'm not the right DJ, and that's perfectly fine. If it does, we'll sort out everything else together.
