Wedding venues in Hamburg

Weddings in Hamburg.

Before I settle on the system and the schedule, I ask about the house and the room, because an Elbe saloon, a ship's deck and a ballroom on the Alster each sound completely different. I present five addresses, from the hotel on the Elbe slope to the grand hotel on the Outer Alster and three ships in the harbour and on the Alster, and for each one I plan the setup and schedule together with you.

Elbe slope, Alster shore or ship's deck: weddings in Hamburg

Between the Elbe slope and the Alster shore lie the addresses where you can celebrate in Hamburg: a hotel with a view of the Elbe, a grand hotel, a museum ship at the quay. How much reverb a room throws back, I listen out myself before the celebration, and then I set the level and layout.

On a ship I keep the volume lower than in a large hall, and with the harbour panorama behind you, dancing comes easier anyway. If your celebration has a theme, I am happy to receive your requested songs and the list of forbidden ones. My setup is ready in about 40 minutes and needs roughly 2.5 by 1.5 metres of space.

Hotel Louis C. Jacob

Elbchaussee 401-403, Hamburg

According to the operator, the house on the Elbchaussee has existed since 1791 and cites an enchanting view of the Elbe from the Linden Terrace. For celebrations there are event rooms such as the Elbsalon, and the hotel's own launch MS Jacob takes parties out on the Elbe. Whether you move between terrace and saloon determines how I place speakers and cable runs.

Hotel Atlantic Kempinski

An der Alster 72-79, Hamburg

The grand hotel on the Outer Alster opened in 1909 for passengers of the HAPAG shipping line and, according to Wikipedia, has 13 event rooms for up to 1,200 guests. With a house that has so many halls, I clarify with you in advance which room you are celebrating in and set up the system to suit its size.

Cap San Diego

Überseebrücke, Hamburg

The museum ship lies at the Überseebrücke, was built in 1961 and 1962 for the shipping line Hamburg Süd and, according to the operator, offers around 2,000 square metres for celebrations of 20 to 500 people. On a ship, steel walls and decks have their own sound, so I listen carefully to the area of your celebration beforehand.

Barkassen-Meyer

Harbour, Hamburg

By its own account, the shipping company has been sailing on the Elbe since 1919 and charters ships from two hours up to a full day, with the wedding celebration expressly named as an occasion. If you celebrate on the water, my equipment runs without mains power, and we discuss which part of the trip gets music.

ATG Alster-Touristik

Jungfernstieg landing stage, Hamburg

Alster-Touristik charters ships for convivial celebrations, most of the 16 ships take up to 60 people, and departure is from the Jungfernstieg landing stage. With such a manageable number of guests a small system is enough, and in our preliminary talk we clarify where on the ship the dancing should take place.

Rooms, capacities and occasions come from the operators' websites and from Wikipedia, as of October 2026. Whether your date is available and how many guests fit into the room, you can only find out directly from the venues.

Ceremony in Hamburg

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

For your wedding in Hamburg, I first give you time to listen: who are you, who is coming, and which song absolutely has to be played? My career began in 1998 behind the mixing desk of a discotheque, and nights of dancing turned into a craft that I have refined at more than 650 weddings.

I join songs from several decades in my own edits so that parents, friends and colleagues land in the same beat. I do not push myself into the foreground; the music should carry the evening, and your day stays the centre of attention.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Hamburg.

A short message is all it takes: you'll have my answer the next day, followed by a video call, arrangements and the setup before the opening dance.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

Once the date and venue are set, get in touch, and I'll reply the same day or within 24 hours at the latest. The video call comes without any sales pressure: we get to know each other, swap ideas, and afterwards you get your offer.

  2. Booking & portal access

After booking, the wedding portal is open to you, where you record favorite songs, no-gos, special moments and the schedule. About a week before the party we talk on the phone and go through everything.

  3. Set-up & sound check

While you are getting ready, I am already on site. I set up, check the sound, go over details with the speaker and the photographer, and keep the technology unobtrusive for the guests.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit, I use music to set the mood. At the reception that follows, subtle lounge music plays in the background, and even without a power connection outdoors everything works on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

The meal gets a calm soundtrack from me. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and games, surprises and the bouquet toss each get the fitting sound.

  6. Opening dance & party

With your chosen edit you open the dance, and then the party begins. I see what the dance floor demands, adjust the set live and keep all generations moving until the end.

Your service package

Everything behind
the mix

Because several generations often sit at your tables, I mix soul classics and current charts in the same evening. The music stays in one pair of hands from the first contact to the last song.

Hands on the DJ controller in warm backlight

Mixed live, microphone only when needed

What plays next I decide by the mood in the room; I stay in the background, and the microphone belongs to speeches and programme items.

Festival hall in blue and violet uplighting Add-on

You decide the color of the room, LED uplights make it happen, and the light follows the music over the course of the evening.

FOTOFun station with ring light and instant printer Add-on

The photo station runs on its own at your party, puts all the pictures in a private online gallery and prints copies for your guests right away if you want that.

You collect your guests' photos without an app of their own via Feierblick, an external service that I recommend and that you book independently of me.

Equipment that doesn't stand out

In my cases are two wireless microphones, lighting effects, a Pioneer or Denon console and speakers from RCF or Electro-Voice.

White retro telephone as an audio guest book on a table with a velvet cloth Add-on

After the party you get a finished audio file from me, cut from the congratulations your guests record on tape at the retro phone.

One fixed contact person

You get an answer to your inquiry within 24 hours, and we stay in constant contact until the wedding day.

An evening that is planned beforehand

We clarify requests and no-gos straight away in the initial conversation, and then I coordinate details with your venue and the other service providers.

Turntable and mixing desk in warm light Open Format

Music genres

I blend disco classics, nineties hits and current charts, and the mood of your guests decides what plays, not a rigid plan.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

Setup takes about 40 minutes, but I arrive early enough to check the sound in peace, and I dismantle everything myself after the party. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

Outdoor symbolic wedding ceremony at sunset Outdoor

Symbolic wedding ceremony

For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit at your wedding ceremony, I do not need a power cable, because a strong battery lasts through the entire ceremony.

Optional: extras

If you want a photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book together, you get everything from a single source, and I take care of the coordination.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Hamburg want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call.

+49 176 700 580 27
Can we celebrate on a ship and still dance, even though there are no power sockets on board?

Yes, my system runs on a battery, so the deck and the saloon get by without cables. You clarify with the shipping company which area suits the dance floor, and I adapt the setup to it.

We dream of a civil ceremony on the banks of the Elbe: can you take care of the music?

Yes, you choose the songs for the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit beforehand, and a battery powers the system right at the shore. You should ask the operator beforehand whether music is allowed outdoors.

What do you do so that the dance floor has something for grandma and university friends alike?

I keep an eye on which tables still have guests sitting and pick the right track for them. I blend disco, soul, chart hits and German Schlager in my own edits so that each generation gets up to dance in turn. Songs that must not be played under any circumstances, you note down in advance.

Can someone sing or play saxophone at the drinks reception without us having to book a whole band?

Yes, I can introduce you to singers, saxophonists, violinists or percussionists from my network who play along with my set. A performance works best at the reception or for the first dance; we will decide the timing together with you.

We are celebrating in a small circle: does a DJ even make sense then?

I set up a compact system for as few as about forty guests. For up to 150 guests my standard system is used, and a single power connection at the booth is enough for it.

When should we get in touch once our wedding date in Hamburg is set?

Get in touch as soon as the date is set, whether in spring or late summer. If you want a Saturday in peak season, write early; on other days six months' notice is often enough. The day after your message, you will know whether I still have time on that date.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you would like live music for the reception or the ceremony, I can arrange saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin for you. When the performance works best, we sort out in good time before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone with the aperitif on the terrace gives the reception a soft, elegant start, especially when the evening slowly turns to dusk.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

Percussion makes the beat stronger after dessert, so the dance floor fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

With live vocals your wedding gets the glamour of a concert evening, and in the party phase your guests sing along at the microphone.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin sets a festive tone for your entrance and turns dinner into an evening with the feel of a gala.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

Party classics like Ballermann, après-ski and schlager hits?
I'm happy to play the odd one of those when the mood is right.
Building the whole evening on them, though, isn't for me.

There are other DJs who love doing exactly that, and do it well.
They are the right choice for it.
    I have nothing against them.
    It's just not my thing.

My field is live mixing at demanding events.
For guests who see music as a craft.
    Clean transitions.
The right track for the right moment.
    More than just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you, I'm not the right DJ, and that's perfectly fine.
If it does, I'm looking forward to meeting you.
