Company parties in Hamm
Exhibition hall, engine house or a ballroom in a castle: The venues in Hamm differ greatly, so I first ask about the programme, the room and the number of guests. Six addresses from the exhibition hall to the moated castle show how different your company evening can look: as a summer party in the park, as a Christmas party in a restaurant or as a reception in the brick hall.
Exhibition hall, engine house from the colliery era, castle hall or restaurant: the venues in Hamm vary widely, and they determine how loud things can get at your event. So first I want to know how large the space is and how many guests are coming.
If your event takes place in a listed building, we first clear walkways and positions with the venue; in a wide hall it is more a question of how much equipment is needed. Send me the running order in writing, and I take care of transport and dismantling.
According to the operator, the Zentralhallen have existed since 1939 and host fairs, shows, markets and events; more than 180,000 visitors come each year. The event overview also lists meetings and congresses. The operator can tell you which areas can be rented for a corporate event; for a hall with a trade-fair character, the first things we agree on are power, access and sound.
The operator lists concerts, cabaret, conferences, trade fairs and parties as uses of the former pithead baths. The main hall measures 820 square metres, plus a stage of 91 square metres and a screen of 5 by 3 metres. Whether a company evening is possible there is for the park to answer.
The hall was the heart of the Maximilian colliery and offers 950 square metres upstairs and 520 downstairs. The operator lists conferences and celebrations by arrangement; during exhibitions and in winter it cannot be rented. The brick building calls for early agreement on routes and power.
The walk-in sculpture by Horst Rellecke measures about 250 square metres and can be seated in different ways; there is a seminar room for conferences. According to the park, parties are organised through its catering. Whether a company evening is possible there is for the operator to decide.
According to Wikipedia, the moated castle in the Lippe meadows serves as an educational and conference venue and for official receptions of the city of Hamm. The main building dates from between 1667 and 1692. The city can tell you who allocates the rooms for company occasions; in a listed building, we clarify the setup and routes particularly early.
The restaurant offers four rooms, each with its own bar, in the historic setting of the old Kristall Palast, for up to 600 people in total. The operator explicitly names company parties and Christmas parties as occasions. Which room suits your group is for the venue to decide.

We settle in the preliminary talk where the music gets room in your programme: at the welcome, during honours, over dinner or on the dance floor. I learned my trade in the discotheque, and by now I count over 1450 events. I cut the transitions between tracks myself, so there are no harsh breaks around your programme items.
Sound system, wireless microphones, setup and soundcheck are part of my job. I leave gaps in the mix for speeches and honours. If the venue has its own technicians, I coordinate directly with them.

My setup takes around 40 minutes and needs about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and after the last track I take everything away again. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

Here is what organisers usually ask me before booking, and for anything else you can simply call me.
+49 176 700 580 27I first ask you who arrives when, and I start with relaxed music that leaves room for conversation. Once the whole group is there, I raise the energy in stages that we agree on together beforehand.
I set up the system under the roof of the marquee and keep protective covers ready for the speakers and the DJ desk. You discuss power and cable routes with me beforehand, together with your organiser or the venue.
I mix well-known international hits with German classics and deliberately leave room for songs your guests know from their home countries. Tell me beforehand who is coming, and I will plan space for them.
Most parties can be prepared properly in four to eight weeks. For very large events and in peak season, around Christmas for instance, you should enquire earlier so that your preferred date is secure.
My standard setup covers parties of up to 150 guests. Beyond that I bring in technology partners as soon as I know the size of the room and the number of guests, and I will make you a proposal.
I start with songs that bring generations together and watch who gets moving. Then I steer the mix towards those groups without excluding the others.

Transparency
A programme made up exclusively of party-anthem and Schlager hits doesn't suit me. Guests at any company party like a few sing-along classics, but building the whole evening on them isn't my style. I'm also the wrong contact for techno sets with no connection to your guests, for wish lists that run rigidly from top to bottom, or for multi-stage festivals. Colleagues who love exactly that take such jobs.
My craft is live mixing for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
