Wedding venues in Hamm

Weddings in Hamm.

Brick hall, garden marquee or ballroom with a parquet floor: which space it is determines how I position the speakers, which is why this question comes first. I will show you five addresses: a glass elephant in the colliery park, two brick halls on the former colliery site, a moated castle in the Lippe meadows and a house in the old Kristall Palast. Which one suits you is your decision, and afterwards I plan the equipment and the schedule.

From the washing hall to the moated castle: weddings in Hamm

In Hamm, park, river and colliery site lie close together, and each of these settings sounds different. Before I plan the speakers, I would like to hear from you whether the celebration takes place indoors, outdoors or in both places.

If the hall has high walls, I allow for more reverb; in a marquee I watch out for wind and ground conditions. You enter your song requests and the tracks that must not be played in the portal beforehand, and about 40 minutes before the guests arrive, everything is ready.

Glass elephant in the Maximilianpark

Maximilianpark, Ostwennemar (Uentrop)

The glass elephant, about 40 metres tall, is a walk-in sculpture by Horst Rellecke and was created from the former coal washing plant of the Maximilian colliery. According to the park, the space measures about 250 square metres, and private celebrations are handled through the catering operator. Whether a wedding evening is possible is for the operator to answer; we clarify power and floor space afterwards.

Maximilianhalle

Maximilianpark, Ostwennemar (Uentrop)

The former washing hall with its brick facade was converted into an event venue in 1984. According to the operator, the main hall has 820 square metres and seats up to 350 guests at round tables. The park expressly lists celebrations among its uses; how your wedding fits in there is something you discuss with the operator.

Elektrozentrale

Maximilianpark, Ostwennemar (Uentrop)

The operator regards the brick building as the heart of the Maximilian colliery, and it offers 950 square metres upstairs and 520 downstairs. Conferences and celebrations are possible by arrangement, but not in the winter months or during exhibitions. So if you marry in winter, you will plan differently; otherwise I clarify access routes and power with the venue.

Schloss Oberwerries

Lippeaue, Heessen

A castle is first mentioned here in 1284, the present main building was erected between 1667 and 1692, and the stables were designed by Johann Conrad Schlaun. In 1942 the city of Hamm acquired the estate, which according to Wikipedia serves as a place for education and conferences and for receptions. Whether private celebrations are possible there is for the city to say; I would then adapt speakers and power to the listed building.

Enchilada in the old Kristall Palast

Hamm

According to the operator, the venue sits in the historic setting of the old Kristall Palast and has four rooms, each with its own bar, for up to 600 people in total. The website names weddings, birthdays, company parties and Christmas parties as occasions. For a larger group I clarify with the venue which room works as a dance floor.

Rooms, sizes and occasions come from the operators' websites and from Wikipedia (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free and how many guests fit in can only be answered by the respective venue.

Humanist ceremony in Hamm

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Hamm has seven districts, and at your wedding table there will probably be families from Heessen, Bockum-Hövel and the neighbouring town sitting side by side. I start with songs everyone knows and only widen the mix once the dance floor is full. You enter your favourite songs, taboos and the schedule of the day in advance in the wedding portal.

We decide together when the meal is served, when speeches take place and how long the dancing should last. For the meal I plan calm music, and for the evening the tracks that bring young and old along.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Hamm.

Tell me the date and venue, and I will get back to you within 24 hours at the latest. After that come a video call and a conversation with the venue; the setup takes place on the wedding day itself.

  1. Enquiry & first chat

You tell me the date and venue, and I reply the same day, within 24 hours at the latest. In the non-binding video call we get to know each other, collect ideas and then arrive at your quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

After the booking I open your wedding portal, a web app for favourite songs, no-go tracks, special moments and the schedule of the day. A good week before the celebration we speak by phone and go through everything once more.

  3. Set-up & sound check

On the wedding day I arrive in good time, set up in about 40 minutes, check the sound in the empty room and coordinate with the speaker, the photographer and the service staff.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit, the pieces you chose play. During the reception the music stays quiet, and outdoors a battery powers the speaker.

  5. Dinner & programme items

During the meal I keep a low profile, speeches go through the wireless microphone, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I find a fitting track for each.

  6. Opening dance & party

With your requested edit you open the dance. After that I watch who stays on the floor and steer the set until young and old sing the last song together.

Everything behind
the mix

At your wedding, several generations will probably dance, so I mix classics with new hits. From the first conversation to the end, the music stays in the hands of one person.

Hands on the DJ controller in warm backlight

Mixed live, microphone only when needed

What plays next depends on the mood in the room; the microphone belongs to your speakers, and I do not push myself into the foreground.

LED uplights colour the walls in your chosen colour and, if you wish, flash in time with the music.

The photo station works without supervision: guests step in front of the camera, every picture ends up in a protected online gallery, and printed copies are available on request.

Two wireless microphones, lighting effects, Pioneer or Denon equipment at the decks and speakers from RCF or Electro-Voice are part of the set-up.

An evening that is planned beforehand

We clarify song requests and no-go tracks at the start, and I handle the contact with the venue and suppliers myself.

Turntable and mixing desk in warm light Open Format

Music genres

I blend pop, soul, disco and current chart hits as the mood of your guests calls for.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

Setup including the soundcheck takes a good 40 minutes, the system needs only about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and I clear everything away myself after the last track. For that, about 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

Symbolic wedding ceremony

At the open-air ceremony, the music comes from a battery-powered speaker, so you need neither cables nor a power socket.

Optional: extras

A photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book can be added, and I take care of the coordination.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Hamm want to know.

Here is what couples usually ask me before booking, and for anything else you can simply call me.

+49 176 700 580 27
We want to hold our drinks reception in a park in Hamm: what happens if it rains that day?

We decide in advance which covered spot steps in if needed. On the morning of the celebration I check the weather, and if necessary I move with my desk and speakers into the dry room before your guests arrive.

Part of our family is Tamil, the other part Westphalian: can the songs of both sides be mixed?

Yes, send me the tracks from both sides, even if I do not know them yet. I listen to them beforehand, look for places to blend them and place them so that every group gets its moment on the dance floor.

Our celebration starts in the afternoon and should run late into the night: how do you divide the day musically?

I divide it into reception, dinner, dancing and wind-down, and for each part we choose the mood together. How long I play depends on your wishes and on what is agreed with the venue.

With only 80 guests, surely a playlist is enough, or does a DJ really make a difference?

Even with 80 guests I can see on the floor when a song works and when it does not, and a playlist cannot do that. For smaller groups my setup of around 2.5 by 1.5 metres is enough, so you do not need to clear a hall for it.

Can we still request a song spontaneously in the middle of the celebration?

Yes, you can come to me at any time. I then decide when the track fits, so that it does not work against the mood in the room.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

For the reception or ceremony I arrange saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin from my network. We enter the timing of the performances in your schedule well before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone over quiet music turns the wait for the couple into a relaxed part of the celebration.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After dessert, percussion lays a rhythm under my mix and gets the guests onto the dance floor faster.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

A singer turns the entrance into a moment to remember and later starts a song together with the guests.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin adds splendour to the entrance and accompanies the meal without drowning out the conversations at the table.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
