Michael Zimmermann mixes music for wedding couples in Hanover

Wedding DJ Hanover · Events since 2004

Your wedding in the city of gardens and trade fairs sounds just the way you wish it to.

I'm Michael Zimmermann, and I put the music together for your wedding in Hanover, from the sparkling wine reception to the final song. In a city where guests from the trade fair, the university and the neighbourhood come together, very different tastes often meet. Over 650 weddings have taught me how to build one shared evening out of that. beats per micha: Michael Zimmermann, wedding DJ, available in Hanover and the surrounding area.

Wedding venues in Hanover

Weddings in Hanover.

Baroque banquet hall, hotel ballroom or garden terrace: I ask in advance about the room, the house system and the outdoor area, because in Hanover every venue needs its own arrangement. In Hanover a wedding can be celebrated in very different places: in the baroque hall of the Herrenhausen Gardens, in the banquet hall with parquet at the fig garden, in the Pelikan building, in a hotel on Luisenstraße or in the zoo. How I set up in each venue, we decide together.

Baroque hall, ballroom, zoo: wedding in Hanover

In Hanover you celebrate between baroque gardens and a brick factory, at the Maschsee or in the zoo. Which equipment suits your room, I only decide once I know the venue and the number of guests.

A city with trade fairs, universities and many newcomers makes for mixed guest lists: generations, professions and tastes lie far apart. Hardly any evening lasts to the end with only one style, so I switch through several decades.

Galerie Herrenhausen

Herrenhäuser Straße 4, Hanover

The Galerie is located in the Herrenhausen Gardens; its largest room measures 700 square metres, up to 430 guests are seated for a banquet, and up to 558 people are possible in total. Receptions, banquets and cocktail parties are listed. In a hall this tall and wide, I plan the speakers so that speeches and dance music both stay clear.

Schlossküche Herrenhausen

Herrenhausen, Hanover

The venue describes a bright banquet hall between the Feigengarten and the Küchengarten with a bar and a parquet dance floor. With a parquet dance floor, I make sure the bass doesn't boom, and I coordinate the switch between dinner and dancing with the venue.

Sheraton Hannover Pelikan Hotel

Pelikanplatz 31, Hanover

The hotel is housed in the former Pelikan factory built in 1906 and lists seven event rooms plus a ballroom; the Mozart-Saal holds up to 250 guests with theatre-style seating. For weddings the venue mentions a terrace, the Pelikan Bar and a bridal suite. Because reception, bar and hall flow into one another, I work out with you where which music plays.

Erlebnis-Zoo Hannover

Adenauerallee 1, Hanover

For celebrations the zoo lists, among others, the Prunksaal, the Festscheune and the Palastterrasse, and explicitly mentions weddings. Whether indoors or on the terrace, we agree in advance how the outdoor sparkling wine reception will sound and when the guests move inside.

Kastens Hotel Luisenhof

Luisenstraße 1-3, Hanover

The hotel points to a history going back to 1856, lists weddings among its occasions and has a vaulted wine cellar. For smaller groups in the cellar, a discreet setup is enough, one that lets your guests keep talking.

The details on rooms and occasions come from the websites of the operators, the city and a wedding portal, as of October 2026. Whether your date is free and how many guests actually fit, you can only find out from the venue itself.

Humanist ceremony in Hanover

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

You're celebrating in Hanover, and at your tables there may be engineers next to farmers and university friends next to aunts from the Harz. That's why I ask about your guests beforehand: who is travelling in, how old are they, which songs should stay out?

I started out at a nightclub DJ booth, and it has grown into over 25 years and more than 1450 events, over 650 of them weddings. My edits connect tracks from different decades, so young and older guests dance together. In the end everyone should say: that was exactly your celebration.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Hanover.

A short message is enough, and you get an answer within 24 hours; after that, video call, arrangements and setup lead you step by step to the opening dance.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

Once the date is set, a short message to me is enough; I usually reply the same day, at the latest within 24 hours. In a video call we clarify, without any sales pressure, what you wish for, and then you receive your offer.

  2. Booking & portal access

After booking, I unlock your wedding portal. There you enter special moments, no-gos, favourite songs and the schedule, and about a week before the celebration we go through everything by phone.

  3. Set-up & sound check

I'm at the venue before your guests arrive. I set up the equipment, listen to the room, settle last details with the speaker and the photographer, and stay in the background for the guests.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit, the music carries the mood. At the sparkling wine reception, quiet lounge music plays, and outdoors without a power outlet everything runs on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

For the meal I provide a calm soundtrack. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I choose suitable music each time.

  6. Opening dance & party

You open the dance with your requested edit, then the party begins. I read the floor, change the set live and keep all generations moving until the last song.

Several generations sit at your tables, so soul classics and current chart hits share the same set with me. The music stays in one pair of hands from first contact to the final song.

At the retro telephone your guests record their congratulations on tape, and after the celebration I cut them into a finished audio file for you.

We clarify music requests and no-gos in the very first conversation, then I coordinate everything else with your venue and the other suppliers.

Music genres

Disco classics, nineties hits and current charts sit side by side in my sets, and the mood of your guests decides what comes next.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

I arrive in good time before the first guests, set up calmly, test the sound and take everything down myself after the celebration. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

Symbolic wedding ceremony

The entrance, ring exchange and exit of a humanist ceremony work without a power cable too, because a powerful battery carries the whole ceremony.

Optional: extras

You can book the photo station, live music, uplights and audio guest book together with me if you wish, and I coordinate everything.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Hanover want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call.

+49 176 700 580 27
Many of the guests at our wedding come from work, others from the family: which music keeps a crowd like that together in Hanover?

I open with songs that every age group knows, and I watch which tables come alive. After that I add tracks that suit you and your guests.

Some of our guests are travelling from far away: can you include requests from their home countries?

Of course, send me your tracks beforehand, and I will plan a fitting place for them in the schedule. International hits are part of my sets anyway.

Our witness would like to sing and a friend wants to play guitar: does that fit into your schedule?

Yes, in the preliminary talk I go through with you when the two of them perform and what equipment they need. After that I take over seamlessly, so there is no gap between their act and the mix.

Our hall in Hanover is high and has stucco and windows: how does that affect the sound?

Tall halls with hard surfaces echo quickly, and that is exactly what I check before you arrive. I test the sound in the empty room and place the speakers so that speeches stay easy to understand.

How do we secure your date on a Saturday in June?

Send me the date and the venue, and I will hold the day for you at first; within a day you will know where you stand. Saturdays in June go early, on weekdays I have more room.

We're only celebrating in a small circle of twenty people: is a DJ even worth it then?

For twenty guests I set up compactly with two speakers. The system can cover up to about 150 people, and all I need is an ordinary power socket.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you'd like live music for the reception or the ceremony, I can arrange saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin. When the performance fits best, we settle in good time before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone with the aperitif gives the reception a warm, elegant start, especially when the evening turns to dusk.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After dessert, percussion adds emphasis to the beat, and the dance floor fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

A singer gives your wedding concert-style glamour, and later your guests are welcome to sing along at the microphone.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin accompanies your entrance with a solemn sound and gives the meal that follows the feel of a festive gala evening.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
