Michael Zimmermann plays for wedding couples in Heidelberg

Wedding DJ Heidelberg · Events since 2004

Your wedding in Heidelberg sounds the way you imagine it.

I'm Michael Zimmermann and I play at your wedding celebration in Heidelberg, from the sparkling wine reception to the last dance. With more than 1450 events in over 25 years, I've helped shape over 650 weddings. I stand next to the dance floor, not on a stage, because your evening belongs to the guests and not to my booth. beats per micha: Michael Zimmermann, wedding DJ, bookable in Heidelberg and the surrounding area.

Wedding venues in Heidelberg

Weddings in Heidelberg.

Before planning, I ask about the building, the hall and the outdoor space, because the Spiegelsaal, the Schlosshof and a ship's deck each need a different concept. I'll show you five addresses: a Spiegelsaal on Kornmarkt, rooms in the Schloss, a house above the old town, a hotel on Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage and the ships on the Neckar. For each one I develop the setup and schedule with you.

Spiegelsaal, Schlosshof or deck: a wedding in Heidelberg

If you marry in Heidelberg, you can choose between very different settings: a Spiegelsaal in the middle of the old town, the Königssaal in the Schloss, a hotel hall at the Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage or a deck on the Neckar. Music sounds different in each of them, and I tailor equipment, placement and schedule accordingly.

A tall hall demands more reserves in sound and light than a sparkling wine reception in a small garden, and I factor that in. If you want a theme, write down the matching tracks for me, and likewise the songs that are off limits. By the reception everything is in place, because I'm at the venue long before your guests.

Palais Prinz Carl

Kornmarkt 1, Heidelberg

Palais Prinz Carl on Kornmarkt lists weddings first among its occasions. According to the operator, the Spiegelsaal allows long tables for up to 144 guests and round tables for up to 120 guests, each without a dance floor. Because the dance floor is missing from those numbers, we talk through in advance where the dancing happens, and then I set up my system accordingly.

Schloss Heidelberg

Altstadt, Heidelberg

The Schloss lists weddings among its occasions for private clients and presents the Königssaal in its room database, with 544 square meters and 264 seats at a banquet, along with the Schlosshof and the Schlosskapelle. Indoors and outdoors call for different planning, so we clarify with you early where the music starts and where it ends.

Schlosshotel Molkenkur

above the Schloss, Heidelberg

The Molkenkur describes itself as a house above Heidelberg Schloss and offers space for up to 600 guests to celebrate. The website shows a mirror hall from the Art Nouveau period and a terrace. Whether you begin indoors or outdoors determines which equipment I pack.

Der Europäische Hof

Friedrich-Ebert-Anlage 1, Heidelberg

Der Europäische Hof hosts weddings alongside conferences and celebrations. According to the operator, Gartensaal, Heidelbergsaal and Pfalzgrafensaal measure 145 to 180 square meters and can be combined for a party of up to 100 guests. With several rooms, we decide where the dancing happens and where you can chat over quiet music.

Ships of the Weisse Flotte

Hauptanleger, Heidelberg, on the Neckar

The Weisse Flotte rents out its ships for weddings, among other occasions, including the MS Alt Heidelberg, the MS Käthchen and the MS Victoria. Before I plan, I clarify with you and the shipping company what equipment is available on board.

I looked up the details on rooms, venues and occasions with the operators (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free and how many guests fit is something only the respective venue can tell you.

Open-air wedding ceremony in Heidelberg

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Your wedding in Heidelberg should sound like you, which is why I listen to you first. I got my start in 1998 in a club, where I learned how to get people onto the dance floor. From 2004, private and corporate events were added; of the more than 1,450 events, over 650 were weddings.

I don't push myself into the foreground. The music should carry, and your day should stay at the center. With my own edits, tracks from several decades flow into one another, so grandparents, friends and colleagues dance together at your event. In the end you say: that was our celebration.

How it works

From the inquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Heidelberg.

A short message to me is enough, and you'll have an answer within 24 hours. After that, a video call, arrangements and setup lead to the opening dance.

  1. Enquiry & first chat

Send me the date and venue as soon as you have both, and I'll get back to you the same day, at the latest within 24 hours. The video call is non-binding: we get to know each other, exchange ideas, and afterwards your offer is ready.

  2. Booking & portal access

With your booking you get access to the wedding portal, a web app for favorite songs, no-gos, special moments and the schedule. About a week before the celebration I'll call you, and we'll go through the schedule together.

  3. Set-up & sound check

I'm at the venue before your entrance, at least two hours before the start. I set up the equipment, listen to the room, coordinate with the speaker and the photographer, and let the sound system fade into the background.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit, I play the pieces you have chosen. At the reception afterwards, soft lounge music plays, and if there's no power outside, the battery takes over.

  5. Dinner & programme items

During the meal I provide calm music. Speeches run through the wireless microphone, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I pick the fitting track each time.

  6. Opening dance & party

We use your requested edit for the opening dance, and after that it really gets going. I watch the dance floor, change the set live and keep young and old dancing until the last track.

Everything behind
the mix

Three generations often sit at your tables, which is why soul classics and current charts share the same set. The music stays in one hand from the first conversation to the final song.

Which track comes next is decided by the mood in the hall, and I stay in the background while the microphone belongs to your speakers and program items.

LED uplights color the hall in the color you want, and over the evening the light moves along with the music.

At the retro phone, your guests record congratulations on tape, and after the celebration I edit them into a finished audio file for you.

An evening that is planned beforehand

We discuss your requested tracks and no-gos right at the start, and afterwards I handle the arrangements with the venue and other service providers myself.

Turntable and mixing desk in warm light Open Format

Music genres

I mix disco classics, nineties hits and current charts, and which of them play is decided by the mood of your guests and not by a rigid list.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

I arrive two hours before the start, set up calmly, check the sound and also clear everything away myself after the celebration. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough for that, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or elevators) the setup takes about 40 minutes.

Symbolic wedding ceremony

For the entrance, ring exchange and exit of your open-air ceremony, my music needs no power cable, as a strong battery carries the ceremony.

Optional: extras

Photo station, live music, uplights and audio guest book can be booked together, and I take care of the coordination for that.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Heidelberg want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call.

+49 176 700 580 27
We're holding the reception in the garden and there's no power outlet there. Can there still be music?

Yes. My setup runs on battery, so no cable to the house is needed. Whether the venue allows music outdoors, I'll clear with them before you commit. I'll take that off your plate.

Can you provide the music for the entrance and exit at our humanist wedding ceremony in Heidelberg?

Happy to: for the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit, the tracks you choose in advance will play, and thanks to the battery the ceremony needs neither a meadow nor a hall with an outlet. Whether the ceremony may take place at your chosen spot is up to the venue.

How do you make sure our grandparents dance too?

Over the course of the evening I keep track of which tables are still seated and look for the next track that will hit exactly there. For that I blend schlager, charts and classics in my own edits. What you absolutely want to hear and what must never play, you write to me in your portal.

Is a saxophonist or a violinist possible at our reception without hiring a band?

That works: soloists from my network, such as saxophone, violin, vocals or percussion, join my mix live. Which moment of the day suits it best is something we work out together with you in the very first video call.

Does a DJ make sense for us with only forty guests?

Absolutely. My speakers are designed for up to about 150 people. With forty guests a much smaller setup is enough for me, and a normal power outlet at the booth is all I need.

When should we get in touch with our request?

For summer Saturdays it's best to ask early. In the other months, three to six months is often enough. Within a day I'll let you know whether your preferred date is still free with me.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you'd like live music for the sparkling wine reception or the ceremony, I arrange saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin. When the performance works best, we discuss in good time before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone with the aperitif on the terrace gives the reception a soft, elegant start, especially as the evening moves into dusk.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After dessert, percussion gives the beat a boost, and the dance floor fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

With live vocals, your wedding gets the glamour of a concert, and in the party phase the guests sing along at the microphone.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin accompanies your entrance with a festive sound and gives the dinner the frame of a gala evening.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
