Wedding DJ Michael Zimmermann behind the decks at a celebration in Magdeburg

Wedding DJ Magdeburg · Events since 2004

Your day on the Elbe, with music tailored exactly to you.

I am Michael Zimmermann, and for your wedding in Magdeburg I plan the music from the sparkling-wine reception to the last song. Behind this are over 25 years of experience and more than 1450 events, over 650 of them weddings. You are marrying in a city whose history begins with Emperor Otto; your evening may well become grand, just not loud for its own sake. beats per micha: Michael Zimmermann, wedding DJ, available in Magdeburg and the surrounding area.

Wedding venues in Magdeburg

Weddings in Magdeburg.

A hall with a chandelier, a park restaurant on the banks of the Elbe and a tower in the Auenpark each call for a different setup, which is why I ask about the room and open space first. I introduce five addresses, from the neoclassicism of the Klosterbergegarten via the Herrenkrug and the Elbauenpark to the monastery in the old town, and for each one I agree the setup and schedule with you.

Chandelier, park or tower: a wedding in Magdeburg

Magdeburg offers you a neoclassical hall by the Klosterbergegarten, an Art Nouveau hall in the Herrenkrug and the Elbauenpark with its tower. Each of these places makes the same song sound different, and I adjust speakers, positioning and schedule accordingly.

If you would like to get some fresh air after dinner, you can walk along the Elbe bank or into the park. We plan the ending together: a last track everyone sings along to, or a quiet close for those who are still sitting.

Gesellschaftshaus am Klosterbergegarten

Schönebecker Straße 129, Magdeburg

On its website the venue lists private and business celebrations and, among other things, rents out the Schinkelsaal, which opened with the building in 1829, and the Gartensaal from 1897. Beneath a chandelier with 12,000 crystal prisms, we plan how the dance floor and speakers are distributed in the 9 m high room.

Dorint Herrenkrug Parkhotel

Herrenkrug 3, Magdeburg

The hotel lists a banquet hall built in Art Nouveau style in 1904 and the park restaurant DIE SAISON, and points to its own wedding venue page. According to the hotel, 10,000 m² of outdoor space is available for events; whether the sparkling wine reception in the park and the dancing in the hall run separately is something we clarify early.

Jahrtausendturm in the Elbauenpark

Tessenowstraße 5a, Magdeburg

The tower is 60 metres tall, and the park's website explicitly lists wedding celebrations among the occasions. You can find out there which rooms the park rents; I adapt the equipment and schedule to whatever you book.

Kloster Unser Lieben Frauen

Regierungsstraße 4-6, Magdeburg

The art museum in the oldest surviving building in the city has a hire section and shows the cloister there. Whether and how you can celebrate there is something to ask the venue directly; get in touch with me as soon as you have a confirmation.

Grüne Zitadelle

Breiter Weg 8-10, Magdeburg

Hundertwasser's last building lists celebrating, meetings and overnight stays on its website, and mentions a hotel and the Casteletto. The site does not explicitly mention weddings; anyone planning here should first clarify the room and date with the venue, and then I tailor the music to that.

I read up on the rooms, capacities and occasions on the venues' own websites, as of October 2026. Whether your date is free and how many guests fit in, you can only find out from the venue.

Humanist ceremony in Magdeburg

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

You decide how your wedding sounds; I shape it into an evening that holds together. I come from a nightclub, later company evenings and family celebrations were added, and over 650 of my more than 1450 events were weddings. I don't carry a rigid programme with me; instead I watch your tables and notice when the mood drops or rises.

With edits I cut myself, I link tracks from several decades so that grandparents, friends and colleagues share the same dance floor. In the end your guests will say: that was your wedding.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Magdeburg.

Your first contact can be brief; I get back to you within 24 hours and invite you to a video call before we talk about the venue, the opening dance and the schedule.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

As soon as the date and venue are fixed, you send them to me and I reply the same day, at the latest within 24 hours. The video call is free of sales pressure: first getting to know each other and ideas, then your quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

After booking, your wedding portal opens. In it you record special moments, favourite songs, no-gos and the schedule; about a week before the celebration I call you and we go through everything.

  3. Set-up & sound check

While you are getting ready, I'm already at the venue. I allow about 40 minutes for setup, but I arrive much earlier, listen to the room and make sure the equipment is barely noticeable to your guests.

  4. Ceremony & reception

The entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit get music from me that carries the moment. At the reception, subtle lounge sounds play, and even under open skies without a power socket everything runs on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

For the meal I provide a calm soundtrack. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and games, surprises and the bouquet toss each get their own sound.

  6. Opening dance & party

You open the dance floor with your chosen edit, then the party begins. I read the mood, change the set spontaneously and keep all generations moving until the end.

Everything behind
the mix

At my weddings, soul classics and current chart hits share the same evening, because three generations often sit at your tables. From the first contact to the final song, the music stays with one person.

Mixed live, microphone only when needed

What plays next depends on the room; I stay in the background, and the microphone belongs to speeches and programme items.

Festival hall in blue and violet uplighting Add-on

LED uplights bathe the room in your chosen colour, and as the evening goes on the lighting can follow the music.

My equipment includes two wireless microphones, lighting effects, a Pioneer or Denon console and speakers from RCF or Electro-Voice.

On the retro telephone your guests record their congratulations, and after the celebration I edit the recordings into a finished audio file for you.

An evening that is planned beforehand

I take down your requested tracks and no-gos in the very first conversation, and afterwards I settle the details with the venue and the other service providers.

Music genres

Disco classics, nineties hits and current chart tracks sit side by side in my sets, and the mood of your guests decides the order, not a rigid list.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

Long before the start I set everything up calmly, check the sound and clear up myself after the celebration. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

Symbolic wedding ceremony

For the entrance, ring exchange and exit of a humanist ceremony, my music works without a mains cable, and a powerful battery carries the whole ceremony.

Optional: extras

If you want a photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book together, you get everything from a single source, and I take care of the coordination.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Magdeburg want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call.

+49 176 700 580 27
We'd like something solemn for our entrance, ideally organ music. Is that possible?

Yes, tell me the piece and I'll find a high-quality recording and edit it to the length of your walk to the front. An organ piece sounds different through speakers than in a cathedral, so I listen to it in the room beforehand. Whether the venue allows recorded music is something you should check with the operator first.

Our hall has stucco, chandeliers and high ceilings. Will that swallow the music?

High rooms carry sound a long way, but they also blur it, so I place the speakers close to your dance floor. Send me photos or measurements and I'll plan the setup in advance. Conversation at the table stays possible, and people will still dance.

Relatives from all over Germany will be celebrating with us, from great-uncles to fellow students: how do you get everyone dancing?

I start with tracks everyone knows and watch who moves first. I set your favourite song as a fixed point in the evening. Anything you don't want to hear, we put on a list together beforehand.

By when should we ask you about our preferred date in Magdeburg?

For popular Saturdays between May and September you should write early. In winter or on weekdays there is often room even at short notice. Send me your date and I'll check the calendar the same day and get back to you.

We are dancing a waltz to open the evening and want to choose the version ourselves: can we cut it to size together?

Gladly: I cut the track to the length of your dance and leave a few seconds free before the first note so you can begin calmly. If you rehearse with a particular version, I get it in advance and match tempo and ending. Only after that do I invite all the guests onto the floor.

We would like to let the late evening wind down by the water: does the music come outside with us?

If the venue allows it, I set up a smaller rig outside. You decide whether quiet music for toasting should play there or whether a separate dance area is created. We settle this together in advance so you have nothing left to organise on the evening.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

Whether for the reception or the ceremony: if you would like live music, I can arrange saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin from my network. We will agree on the right time for the performance together, well before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone with the aperitif gives the reception a warm, elegant start, especially as the evening turns to twilight.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After dessert, percussion adds drive to the beat, and the dance floor fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

Live vocals give your wedding something of a concert evening, and later at the microphone your guests sing along.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin accompanies your entrance with a ceremonial tone and gives the meal the setting of a gala evening.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
