Wedding DJ Mainz · Events since 2004

Your wedding day in Mainz sounds exactly the way you want to celebrate it.

I'm Michael Zimmermann, and I play at your wedding celebration in Mainz, from the sparkling wine reception to the very last track. I have stood behind the decks for over 25 years and have been part of more than 1450 events, over 650 of them weddings. My place is next to the dance floor, not in front of it, because your guests are the centre of attention, not me. beats per micha: Michael Zimmermann, wedding DJ, available to book in Mainz and the surrounding area.

Wedding venues in Mainz

Weddings in Mainz.

Before I settle on the sound system and the schedule, I ask about the house, the room and the outdoor space, because vineyard, vaulted cellar and terrace each call for different planning. I will introduce four venues to you, from the estate among the vineyards via a park hotel and a house with a terrace and garden to the vaulted house in the old town, and for each one I plan the setup and schedule together with you.

Vineyard, vaulted hall or park terrace: a wedding in Mainz

The venues for your celebration in Mainz range from an estate in the vineyards and the sun terrace of a park hotel to a vaulted cellar in the old town. Every venue carries the sound differently, and I adjust the system, the setup and the schedule accordingly.

In a large barn I leave more headroom in the level than at a reception under the open sky. If a theme is set, I would gladly receive your requested tracks and the list of forbidden songs from you. I start setting up about two hours before the first guests arrive.

FAVORITE parkhotel Mainz

Karl-Weiser-Straße 1, Mainz

At the park hotel next to the Mainz rose garden, you find a venue that expressly lists weddings as an occasion. According to the operator, rooms for 5 to 400 people are available, plus a large sun terrace. Whether you begin on the terrace or straight in the hall decides how I plan speakers and cable runs.

Hofgut Laubenheimer Höhe

Auf der Laubenheimer Höhe 1-3, Mainz

The estate dedicates its own section to your wedding and mentions the vineyard hut at the highest point of Mainz, the courtyard garden and the barn, which according to the operator holds 10 to 380 people. At a farm with several spots, we agree where music should play and where quiet is deliberate.

Kupferberg Mainz

Kupferbergterrasse 15, Mainz

On the Kupferberg website there is a section on getting married, with a vintner's sparkling wine reception, terrace and garden, as well as the Fürst von Bismarck Saal and the Chardonnaysaal. According to the city of Mainz, the restaurant is housed in a sparkling wine cellar building from the 19th century. If you move between garden and hall, I plan the transition with you so that the music moves along.

Heiliggeist

Rentengasse 2, Mainz

You celebrate in the Heiliggeist, a former hospital that, according to the operator, has been part of the city's history since the 13th century. Under one roof are a restaurant, a bar and event spaces with high vaults, plus a generous terrace. How a vault throws the sound back, I listen to closely in advance before I set up my system.

Rooms, spaces and occasions come from the operators' websites and official sources, as of October 2026. Whether your preferred date is free and how many guests fit, you can only find out directly from the respective venue.

Humanist ceremony in Mainz

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Your wedding in Mainz should sound like you, which is why I listen first. I started in 1998 in a nightclub and learned there how to get a whole party moving. Since 2004 I have stood behind the decks at private and corporate celebrations, and more than 650 weddings are part of over 1450 events.

I never want to push myself forward; the music should do its work, and your day stays at the center. With my own edits I connect tracks from several decades so that family, friends and colleagues dance together. In the end, everyone in the room should be able to say that it was exactly your celebration.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Mainz.

Write me a short message, you get an answer within 24 hours, and after that a video call, arrangements and setup accompany you right up to the opening dance.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

Send me the date and venue as soon as both are settled, and I reply the same day or at the latest within 24 hours. In the video call there is no sales pressure, just getting to know each other, ideas and then your quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

With your booking, the wedding portal is yours. There you collect special moments, no-gos, favourite songs and the schedule in the web app; about a week before the celebration we talk by phone and go through everything.

  3. Set-up & sound check

While you are getting ready, I am already on site, at least two hours before the start. I set up, check the sound, discuss details with the speaker and the photographer, and keep the technology unobtrusive for the guests.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit, I use music to set the mood. At the reception that follows, subtle lounge music plays in the background, and even without a power connection outdoors everything works on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

The meal gets a calm soundtrack from me. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and games, surprises and the bouquet toss each get the fitting sound.

  6. Opening dance & party

With your chosen edit you open the dance, and then the party begins. I see what the dance floor demands, adjust the set live and keep all generations moving until the end.

Everything behind
the mix

At my weddings, soul classics and current chart hits share the same evening, because several generations often sit at your tables. From the first contact to the last song, the music stays in one pair of hands.

Hands on the DJ controller in warm backlight

Mixed live, microphone only when needed

What plays next I decide by the mood in the room; I stay in the background, and the microphone belongs to speeches and programme items.

Festival hall in blue and violet uplighting Add-on

LED uplights bathe the room in the colour you choose, and over the course of the evening the lighting moves with the music.

The photo station works on its own during the celebration, saves every picture in a private online gallery and, if you wish, prints copies straight away for your guests.

You collect your guests' photos without an app of their own via Feierblick, an external service that I recommend and that you book independently of me.

Equipment that doesn't stand out

In my cases are two wireless microphones, lighting effects, a Pioneer or Denon console and speakers from RCF or Electro-Voice.

On the retro telephone, guests record their good wishes on tape, and after the celebration I cut the recordings into a finished audio file for you.

An evening that is planned beforehand

We clarify requests and no-gos straight away in the initial conversation, and then I coordinate details with your venue and the other service providers.

Music genres

I combine disco classics, nineties hits and current chart music, and what gets played is decided by the mood of your guests and not by a rigid list.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

I am with you two hours before the start, set everything up calmly, check the sound and dismantle it myself after the celebration. About 2.5 m width and 1.5 m depth are enough for that, and under normal conditions (car close to the set-up location, no stairs or lifts) the set-up takes around 40 minutes.

Symbolic wedding ceremony

For the entrance, ring exchange and exit of your humanist ceremony, my music works without a mains cable; a powerful battery carries the entire ceremony.

Optional: extras

If you want a photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book together, you get everything from a single source, and I take care of the coordination.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Mainz want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call.

+49 176 700 580 27
What will our outdoor sparkling wine reception sound like when there is no power anywhere nearby?

That is no obstacle, because my system runs on a battery. So the reception in the courtyard garden or on the terrace stays cable-free. Whether equipment is allowed outdoors, I clarify beforehand with your venue.

We would like a humanist ceremony in a garden in Mainz: will you take care of the music for it?

Yes, I accompany the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit with tracks you choose beforehand, and the power comes from the battery. Please ask the operator whether your location allows an outdoor ceremony.

How do you get grandparents, friends and colleagues onto the dance floor together?

I watch which tables everyone stays seated at and look for the very track that draws them in. I mix disco, soul, charts and Schlager in my own edits, so the generations join in one after another. What should never be played, you write down for me beforehand.

Is live music at the reception possible without hiring a full band?

Yes, I arrange singers, saxophonists, violinists or percussionists from my network who play along with my set. The performance usually pays off at the reception or the opening dance; we agree on exactly when with you.

From what number of guests does a DJ make sense with you?

Already at forty guests, and then I set up a small system. My package covers up to about 150 people, and I only need power at a single spot at the booth.

When should we get in touch with you once the wedding date is set?

As soon as your date is set, whether in spring or autumn. For Saturdays in summer an early message is worthwhile, otherwise a lead time of half a year is often enough. Within 24 hours I tell you whether the day is free.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you would like live music for the sparkling wine reception or the ceremony, I can arrange saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin for you. When the performance works best, we clarify in good time before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone with the aperitif on the terrace gives the reception a soft, elegant start, especially when the evening slowly turns to dusk.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After dessert, percussion gives the beat more punch, and the dance floor fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

With live vocals your wedding gets the glamour of a concert evening, and in the party phase your guests sing along at the microphone.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin accompanies your entrance with a solemn sound and gives the meal the feel of a gala evening.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
