Wedding DJ Paderborn · Events since 2004

Your wedding between the Paderquellen and the cathedral.

My name is Michael Zimmermann, and for your wedding in Paderborn I build the evening song by song. More than 650 weddings, over 1450 events in total and over 25 years behind the decks have taught me to recognise the moment when the guests get up. I shape music and equipment to suit the two of you, not the other way round. beats per micha: Michael Zimmermann, wedding DJ, available to book in Paderborn and the surrounding area.

Wedding venues in Paderborn

Weddings in Paderborn.

Do you celebrate in a municipal hall, in a conference venue or on palace grounds? That determines how I plan speakers and lighting for your hall. Four addresses show you how different a wedding in Paderborn can be: a festival hall near the Pader springs, a Schützenhof with a beer garden, a conference venue An den Kapuzinern and a palace setting in Schloß Neuhaus.

From banquet hall to inn: weddings in Paderborn

Paderborn offers you a banquet hall near the springs, a Schützenhof with a beer garden or a castle setting in Schloß Neuhaus for your celebration. Because each of these places sounds different, I only plan the sound and lighting mood once you have decided.

Large halls swallow bass and small inn rooms carry it far; I check that in the empty room, and around 40 minutes after I arrive everything is balanced before the first guest walks in.

Paderhalle

Heiersmauer, Paderborn

Hardt-Waltherr Hämer designed the building, which was built near the Paderquellen from 1978 to 1981. The operator lists banquets, balls and parties among its events and quotes a dance floor of around 180 square metres. Whether your date is free is something the venue can answer; for the technical side we will look together at how the hall is laid out.

Schützenhof

Schützenplatz, Paderborn

According to the Paderhalle, the Schützenhof has five freely combinable rooms totalling 3,000 square metres, and in summer parkland and a beer garden are part of it. How many guests fit into which room combination, the operator can tell you. After that I plan the setup and routes for my equipment.

Liborianum

An den Kapuzinern, Paderborn

The house advertises conferences, weddings and family celebrations. Which room suits your number of guests is something the Liborianum itself will tell you. Afterwards we clarify where my speakers stand and how the lighting is set.

Schloss Neuhaus

Schloß Neuhaus, Paderborn

The castle sits like an island at the confluence of the Lippe, Alme and Pader and was a residence of the bishops from 1370. In the castle park, which emerged from the 1994 state garden show, the Schloßsommer has taken place since 1995. Which rooms you can get for a celebration, you ask the people in charge; within historic walls I sort out the routes for the equipment early.

Construction dates, rooms and occasions come from Wikipedia and from the websites of the operators named (as of October 2026). Only the respective venue can tell you about free dates and the number of seats.

Non-denominational wedding ceremony in Paderborn

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Paderborn likes to celebrate in a big crowd: at your wedding there will often be families who have lived in the Paderborn area for generations, plus friends from university days. So that both sides dance together, I cut my own edits and blend classics with current tracks without any break being heard.

You enter your wishes and no-gos in the wedding portal beforehand, and we go through everything else in the video call. In the evening I follow the dance floor, and it decides the next song. I weave in your favourite tracks so that even the quiet ones at the edge end up swaying along.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Paderborn.

Send me the date and venue, and I will get back to you the same or the next day. A video call follows, in which we settle the requests and the schedule.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

If you send me the date and venue, I reply the same day, within 24 hours at the latest. The video call is non-binding: we get to know each other, you tell me about your ideas, and only then do I send the quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

After booking, I unlock your wedding portal. There you maintain requested songs, no-gos and the schedule, and about a week before the celebration we go through the whole day by phone.

  3. Set-up & sound check

On the wedding day I arrive in good time, need about 40 minutes for setup and soundcheck, and coordinate with the speaker, photographer and catering staff.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, ring exchange and exit, the songs you have chosen play. The drinks reception gets soft lounge sounds, and where there is no socket nearby, the system runs on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

During the meal it stays quiet. A wireless microphone is enough for speeches, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I find the right song each time.

  6. Opening dance & party

Your chosen song opens the dancing. After that I watch the floor and keep adapting the set until all generations sing the last song together.

Everything behind
the mix

Three generations often sit at your tables, so classics stand beside current hits. The music stays in one pair of hands from the first conversation to the final song.

Hands on the DJ controller in warm backlight

Mixed live, microphone only when needed

Which song comes next depends on the mood in the hall; the microphone belongs to your speakers, and I do not push myself into the foreground.

Festival hall in blue and violet uplighting Add-on

LED uplights bathe the walls of the hall in your chosen colour and can change to the beat of the music if you like.

On the retro telephone, guests record congratulations and greetings, from which I later put together an audio file for you.

We discuss requested songs and no-gos right at the start; I coordinate with the venue and suppliers myself.

Music genres

Pop, soul, disco or charts: which direction fits at any moment is decided on the night by the mood of your guests, not by a fixed concept.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

For setup and soundcheck I need a good 40 minutes with a footprint of 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and at the end I take everything down again on my own. Roughly 2.5 m width and 1.5 m depth is enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

I accompany the entrance, ring exchange and exit with battery-powered equipment, so you need neither cables nor a socket.

Optional: extras

A photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book can be added, and I take care of the coordination.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Paderborn want to know.

These are the questions I hear from couples most often, and if yours isn't there, just get in touch with me directly.

My family comes from the Paderborn area, his from the Ruhr region: can you find music that works for both sides?

Yes, I start with songs that both families know and then open up the programme step by step. You enter the songs you absolutely want in the wedding portal, and the ones that should not be played as well.

Our wedding in Paderborn falls in Libori week, when the whole city is celebrating: is your calendar still free then?

My calendar fills up quickly in high summer, so an early enquiry is worthwhile. I agree with the venue when I may set up, so that you do not have to worry about anything.

Between the ceremony and the reception we take photos at the Paderquellen: how do you bridge the wait for the guests?

For the drinks reception I bring calm music that does not drown out conversation. As soon as you are back from the photographer, I build up the programme at the pace you set.

We are celebrating in a high-ceilinged hall with a stage area and expect a good hundred guests: how do you set up there?

I need a space of 2.5 by 1.5 metres with a socket within reach and carry everything else in myself. About 40 minutes later I am ready to go, and pictures of the room help me tell you the best spot.

My gran wants Schlager, my brother wants techno: can you fit in both?

Both can be planned in if you send me the requests beforehand. I sort the songs by time and mood so that the grandparents get their song early and the younger guests their beats later.

Where do we enter our opening dance and my mother's favourite song?

In the wedding portal, which I unlock for you after booking. There you collect requested songs, no-gos and the schedule; I read everything before the celebration and ask if anything is unclear to me.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you would like real live music for the reception or ceremony, I bring in saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin from my network. When a performance works best, we discuss long before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

Outdoors in the evening light a saxophone sounds soft, as guests strike up conversation with a glass in hand.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After dessert, percussion drives the beat, and the dance floor usually fills by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

A live singing voice gives the evening a concert feel, and later the microphone can pass to your guests.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violinist accompanies your entrance and turns the start of the celebration into a festive opening that stays in the memory.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

Party classics like Ballermann, après-ski and schlager hits?
I'm happy to play the odd one of those when the mood is right.
Building the whole evening on them, though, isn't for me.

There are other DJs who love doing exactly that, and do it well.
They are the right choice for it.
    I have nothing against them.
    It's just not my thing.

My field is live mixing at demanding events.
For guests who see music as a craft.
    Clean transitions.
The right track for the right moment.
    More than just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you, I'm not the right DJ, and that's perfectly fine.
If it does, I'm looking forward to meeting you.
