Celebrations in Bochum
Colliery hall, trendy pub or garden in Stiepel: every place carries music differently, and I shape my proposal for your party accordingly. Five addresses in Bochum show how different your birthday can look: open-air stage with beer garden, mining museum, steel hall, museum forum and stadium room. Below you will find what to bear in mind for each.
There are big differences between an open-air stage, a museum and a living room, and that determines how big my sound system will be. First tell me where you are celebrating and with how many guests.
If your party takes place in a garden or a flat, a compact set that I carry in myself is enough. I ask you beforehand about space and sockets, and I set up in about 40 minutes before the first guest rings the bell.
The stage in the Stadtgarten has existed since 1936 and today offers a programme of concerts and theatre plus a beer garden. The operating company lists the amphitheatre and the beer garden among its venues. Whether your party is possible there is for the operating company to say, after which we discuss power and a roof over the equipment.
The museum preserves the engine house and Malakoff tower of a colliery that closed in 1973, and is a venue for the ExtraSchicht. Anyone who wants to celebrate there asks the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe about the options; I plan equipment and routes as soon as that is settled.
The steel hall from 1902 stands in the Westpark, and the operator's website mentions the pump house and the steam blower house, among others. For smaller groups such side rooms come into question; which ones exactly is for the operating company to answer. After that I decide on setup and sound levels.
According to the rental handout, the Forum holds up to 80 people and is located within the permanent exhibition, so it is only let after opening hours. For a birthday among a small circle of friends surrounded by mining technology this is a special setting; whether your date works is for the museum to say.
Since 2003 the stadium centre of VfL Bochum has offered rooms for hosting around 1250 VIPs. Whether such rooms are let for a private party is for the stadium's management to answer. For VfL fans the question is worth a phone call.
I looked up construction years, rooms and occasions on Wikipedia and on the websites of the operators mentioned (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free and how many guests fit into the venue can only be said by the venue itself.
Who I am
You celebrate in Bochum, I take care of the sound. My school was the discotheque, later private and corporate celebrations were added, until over 1450 events had come together. A party does not succeed by following a rigid plan, but when someone keeps an eye on the room.
From classics and fresh tracks I build edits so that your university friends, your colleagues and your relatives dance at the same time. Tell me your wishes and no-gos beforehand, then you can celebrate along yourself on the night. If you like, I will explain beforehand how the evening unfolds in phases.
How it works
Write to me with the date and place, and I will get back to you within a day. Video call, arrangements and the setup before the party follow.

With the booking you receive my mobile number, because a lot can be settled fastest via WhatsApp. About a week before the party we go through favourite songs, no-gos and the schedule.
I am already in the room before the first guests arrive: setup in about 40 minutes, then a soundcheck. Whatever the venue still needs to know, I clarify with you or the management, so that nobody has to search around in the evening.
Calm lounge music plays as guests arrive, so that they find their way into conversation. For you as the birthday guest of honour I choose a track of your own, and likewise for special moments.
Parts of the programme get their music too: quiet during the meal, a microphone for speeches, fitting pieces for games, surprises and the cutting of the cake, so that every moment gets its own sound.
As soon as people start dancing, I take over completely, watch the guests and keep adjusting the set until the last song has faded.

Setup takes about 40 minutes, the system needs roughly 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and I clear up myself after the party. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
You can add lighting, a photo station, live music and an audio guest book if you need them, and I take care of the coordination.

+49 176 700 580 27A table with a surface of around 2.5 by 1.5 metres and a power socket within reach are enough for me. If there is none outside, I bring a battery or we choose a covered spot against the house wall, and I will tell you beforehand what I need to see.
I start with songs that everyone can hum along to, and give each group a moment of its own over the course of the evening. You tell me beforehand what must not be played.
You give me the schedule beforehand, and I match music and microphone to each part of the programme. During a game I stay quietly in the background, and afterwards I bring your guests back with a well-known track.
Write to me as soon as the date is fixed. Winter weekends are often quieter than summer days, but I will tell you whether your date is free on the very day of your message.
Yes, your music can play while guests arrive, and later I fade over towards dance music. Send me the tracks beforehand and I will check how to fit them in.

You give me the date, place and approximate number of guests, and we find out which music is yours: favourite albums, hits from your youth, tracks you never want to hear again. If spontaneous requests come in during the evening, I decide when they fit.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
