DJ Bochum · A city above and below ground
From the winding tower to the concert hall: music for the evening you are celebrating.
I am Michael Zimmermann, and I mix for parties in Bochum, Wattenscheid, Langendreer or Stiepel. In a city where miners, students and musical fans are out on the same weekend, no standard playlist fits. We discuss how the music should sound beforehand in a video call or by phone.
“We couldn't have wished for a better DJ.”

You get exactly one shot. I had 1,450 to practise.
Micha is a great DJ. He is super nice and implements everything exactly as agreed. I can absolutely recommend him.

Occasions
Every occasion has its own page. Choose the card that suits your celebration in Bochum or the central Ruhr area.
A hall from the steel era, a winding tower in the background or a celebration in the countryside: the music accompanies you from the reception to the last dance.
Congress hall, concert hall or stadium room: an entry in the calendar becomes an evening the team is still talking about on Monday.
From a fortieth in a former colliery hall to a seventieth with the family: I tailor the music to your guests.
Around Bochum
Bochum has 358,880 inhabitants (as of 31 December 2025), spread across six city districts and 34 neighbourhoods. The Ruhr-Universität was founded in 1962, and since 1965 the city has been entitled to call itself a university city. The concert hall Anneliese Brost Musikforum Ruhr has been home to the Bochumer Symphoniker since 2016, and the musical Starlight Express has been running in the same place since 1988.
Whether you celebrate in a Bochum district, in Wattenscheid or in one of the neighbouring towns makes no difference to my planning. Herne, Witten, Hattingen, Gelsenkirchen and Castrop-Rauxel are also part of my area.

About me
I learned the craft as a disco DJ: a track that fills the dance floor and one that empties it are sometimes only two minutes apart. By now I have over 1450 events behind me, more than 650 of them weddings, plus company evenings and birthdays in halls, pubs and living rooms.
How that goes down with guests is shown in 60 Google reviews with an average of 5.0 stars. Before any planning, I first ask about the room, the age of the guests and the schedule of the evening; the playlist comes only after that.
I pass on my knowledge in workshops at the DJ Allianz e.V., where the focus is on transitions and reading the dance floor. Where an evening brings together students, families and colleagues from several shifts, I use both constantly.

Services
Sound and lighting for rooms of up to about 150 guests, wireless microphones for speeches and backup equipment come to every party. On request I add uplights, a photo booth, an audio guest book or live music to the DJ set. We discuss the schedule and music calmly beforehand, so that nothing is left open on the day itself.
Frequently asked questions
Short answers for everyone celebrating in Bochum and the central Ruhr area. You will find more on the pages for weddings, company parties and birthdays.
+49 176 700 580 27You get music, sound system and, if you wish, announcements from a single source, whether the party takes place in Langendreer, Wattenscheid or in the city centre. You decide how the evening goes, and I turn it into music.
In all Bochum districts and in places such as Herne, Witten, Hattingen, Gelsenkirchen or Castrop-Rauxel. Just tell me where you are celebrating.
Write to me as soon as your date is set. Popular weekends often go first, and on the same or the next day you will know whether I am free.
Yes, give me one or two songs you love and a few that must never be played. I build the set from that and read on the night what the guests respond to.
A second setup including a spare laptop comes with me to every event. If a device fails, the music keeps playing anyway.
Fill in the form or call me. I will get back to you within 24 hours, we talk without obligation in a video call, and afterwards you receive a personal offer.
Then enquire right away, before another couple or team books the same Saturday.

Even more options
If you want more than a DJ set, you can book musicians from my network. They perform between two tracks and keep to the schedule of your evening. We decide together which line-up suits the event and the room.
01
Reception · Opening dance
At the sparkling wine reception, the saxophone sounds smooth over quiet deep house, and for the opening dance it gives the mix a warm start.
02
Entrance · Surprise
A singer accompanies the entrance into the hall or performs unexpectedly for the birthday guest of honour.
03
Late evening · Dance floor
With congas and hand drums, the late evening picks up pace once more as soon as dessert has been cleared away.
04
Standing reception · Festive dinner
The violin settles over the conversation in the foyer and makes the evening festive, whether in the hall or on the terrace.

I look forward to hearing what you're celebrating, and I'll make sure the music fits. Popular dates are often booked months in advance, so an early inquiry pays off.
