Celebrations in Dortmund
Colliery hall, brewhouse or a pub in the Kreuzviertel: every room carries music differently, and my suggestion for your party follows from that. Your birthday in Dortmund can take place wherever you like: in an industrial monument, in the brewery tower or in the stadium. I go into five addresses where you can celebrate below.
In Dortmund your birthday can take place in a brewery building, a colliery hall or a stadium box; depending on the venue, I adjust speakers and volume. Tell me where you're inviting people before I plan.
If the party takes place at home, I unpack a small set that can manage on battery if need be. How much space is left and where the power comes from, I ask you beforehand; I am ready about 40 minutes before the first guests arrive.
The brewhouse of 1912 has been a listed building since 1989 and is the only fully preserved large-scale industrial brewing building in the city from before the First World War. Which celebrations the venue allows and how many guests fit in is something you ask them directly, and after that we discuss the set-up and power.
The former fermentation cellar of the Union Brewery, 70 metres high and crowned with a golden U since 1968, now houses a cultural centre with a cinema and a restaurant on level 7. Which floor can be hired for your birthday is for the operator to answer; I plan my equipment accordingly.
The model colliery built between 1898 and 1904, with its Art Nouveau engine hall, rents out rooms for events, and according to Wikipedia the administration foyer is especially popular. For a milestone birthday it is worth asking which room is free in your month.
Since its closure in 1992 the coking plant has been an industrial monument, which includes the compressor hall, restored by 2005. What is possible there for parties is something you find out from the venue, before we settle equipment and weather protection.
On the BVB events page, the stadium with 81,365 seats mentions rooms such as Alter Markt, Foyer West and Weiße Wiese for celebrations. Whether one of them is free on your date is for the club to say; I tune my set to the size of the room.
I looked up rooms, construction dates and occasions on Wikipedia and with the operators named there (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free and how many guests fit in the venue, only the venue itself can tell you.
Who I am
You celebrate in Dortmund, I take care of the sound. I learned my craft in the nightclub, then private and corporate parties followed, until it was over 1,450 events. A party works without a rigid plan when someone keeps a close eye on the room.
From classics and new tracks I build my own edits, so that friends from the neighbourhood and relatives from the Sauerland dance together. Tell me your wishes and no-gos in advance, and you can enjoy the evening yourself. On request I explain to you before the party in which phases the evening unfolds.

Send me the date and venue, and I will get back to you the same or the next day. Then come the video call, arrangements and setup.

After booking you get my mobile number, because a lot goes fastest over WhatsApp. A week before the party we go through requested songs, no-gos and the schedule.
I arrive before your guests, set up the equipment in about 40 minutes and do the sound check. Whatever is still open we clarify with you or the venue, so that everything runs unobtrusively later.
When your guests arrive, calm lounge music makes for relaxed conversation. I pick out the right track for you as the birthday guest of honor and for special moments.
During dinner I keep the music low, the microphone is ready for speeches and announcements, and games, surprises and the cake cutting get their own tracks.
Once people are dancing, I run the set alone, feel the mood and adapt the selection to the guests until the last song has faded.

Your set is created on the night, just for you, and grows with the mood. Tracks from several decades also get those onto the floor who first only wanted to watch. A living room, an attic or a backyard is enough for me, because I carry my compact setup in myself. If a slideshow is running or someone is speaking, I turn the music down immediately.

Current hits and classics from many decades come together with me, and I listen to your requests in advance.
For setup I allow about 40 minutes and roughly 2.5 by 1.5 meters of space for the equipment, and I clean up afterwards myself. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth is enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or elevators) setup takes about 40 minutes.
You can add lighting, a photo station, live music and an audio guest book, and I coordinate everything.

+49 176 700 580 27That depends on the venue, and I can judge it as soon as you send me the data sheet and photos. If the house system is not enough, I bring my own, and before you commit you know what to expect.
I plan the evening in phases: early on, what everyone knows is played, and later I gradually shift towards your taste. Anything that is a complete no for you, tell me beforehand and it stays out.
I coordinate everything with the organiser by WhatsApp or phone and stick to the timing of the surprise. For the moment of the reveal I use the track you give me.
For a milestone birthday in summer I plan several months of lead time, because the weekends go first. For a small group a few weeks can be enough, and whether your date works, you will hear from me on the day of your message.
I am happy to build that in: I plan a passage in which she plays over my mix. We talk the moment through beforehand so that I can set the transition and the volume right for your guests.

Transparency
Nothing but schlager and Ballermann for hours on end? I'm happy to let the odd crowd-pleaser run when your guests ask for it, because they belong at a good birthday party. Building my whole evening on them isn't for me, though. Nor am I a fit for techno sets that ignore the crowd, for request lists worked through rigidly, or for festivals with several stages. I leave that to colleagues who are good at it and enjoy it; I have nothing against them, it's simply not my field.
I play live, for guests with a feel for the moment: the transitions are tight, the song suits the hour, and nothing just runs on autopilot. That is why I would rather tell you in advance what I don't offer than have you annoyed on the night.
