Celebrating in Hagen
Museum, hall, café in a castle or garden on a slope: every place needs a different solution, and I base my proposal for your party on that. Four addresses in Hagen show how different your birthday can look: a museum, an Art Nouveau villa, a moated castle or the Stadthalle. What to bear in mind for each is in the cards.
Hagen lies on several hills, and your party can take place in the valley, on the slope or in the city park. First tell me where you are celebrating and with how many guests; the size of my system follows from that.
If the party is at home, a small set is enough, which I carry through the door myself. After around 40 minutes everything is connected and levelled before you welcome the first guests.
The museum has existed since 1902 and goes back to the Folkwang Museum of Karl Ernst Osthaus; the Hohenhof is also part of the Kunstquartier Hagen. Whether a birthday is possible there, the Kunstquartier Hagen will tell you; I plan the technology and routes once that is clarified.
The villa that Henry van de Velde designed for Karl Ernst Osthaus was ready to move into in 1908. The extensive garden was restored in 2022/23. Which occasions the Kunstquartier Hagen allows in the house or in the garden you can find out from them, after which we discuss power and positioning.
The castle with its museum and small café lies in Vorhalle near the Harkortsee. It has belonged to the city of Hagen since 1977. For a birthday there, you first ask the city about the options, and I clarify access and set-up afterwards.
The operator's website mentions rooms for 10 to 3,000 people; the building includes the Grüner Saal and the panoramic restaurant Felsenblick, among others. For a private party you ask the operator which room is suitable for your number of guests; after that we fix the music and lighting.
Years and room details come from Wikipedia and the websites of the operators named (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free and how many guests fit in can only be answered by the venue itself.
Who I am
You celebrate in Hagen, I take care of the music. I learned the craft in the nightclub, where the right track at the right minute is what counts; private and corporate events came later, now more than 1450. From classics and current tracks I mix my own transitions, so that friends from the club, colleagues and family all dance at the same time.
You send me your wishes and no-gos in advance, so that you can be the host yourself in the evening. How an evening unfolds in phases, I explain to you before the party.
How it works
Write to me with the date and place, and you will hear from me on the same or the next day. Then follow the video call, agreements and the set-up before the party.
Request a dateI reply to your enquiry within a day. In a short video call you tell me about your birthday, and then you receive your quote.
With the booking you receive my mobile number, because WhatsApp is the quickest way to sort out most things. About a week before the party we discuss favourite songs, no-gos and the schedule.
Before the first guests arrive, I am already in the room: set-up in about 40 minutes, then sound check. Anything the venue still needs to know, I clarify with you or the operator.
Calm lounge music plays as guests arrive, so that they find their way into conversation. For you as the birthday guest of honour I choose a track of your own, and likewise for special moments.
Programme items get their own music too: quiet during the meal, a microphone for speeches, suitable pieces for games, surprises and the cutting of the cake, so that every moment has its own sound.
As soon as people start dancing, I take over completely, watch the guests and keep adjusting the set until the last song has faded.

What plays is decided only in the evening, with you and your guests, and the selection grows with the mood. Tracks from several decades bring even those onto the floor who initially sit at the edge. Whether living room, garden house or club room: I carry my compact set-up in myself. If a slideshow or a speech begins, I take the music down straight away.

Setup takes about 40 minutes, the system needs roughly 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and I clear up myself after the party. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
You can add lighting, a photo station, live music and an audio guest book if you need them, and I take care of the coordination.

Yes: with the coffee, quiet music plays that does not disturb conversation, and in the evening I turn the tempo up. When I switch is up to you.
Ideally you keep a covered spot ready for my decks, roughly 2.5 by 1.5 metres in size, with a socket next to it. Speakers, lighting and cables come from me.
Tell me when the surprise should happen and which track goes with it. I have it ready and start it on your signal, without the birthday guest suspecting anything beforehand.
As soon as you have a date, just write to me. Whether I am still free then, you will usually know within a few hours.

You tell me the date, the place and the approximate number of guests. Then we collect what belongs to you: albums, hits from your youth and tracks that must never be played. Spontaneous requests in the evening I check before they come up.

Transparency
Hours of nothing but Ballermann and schlager? A few hits of that kind can work well at a birthday party when the mood is right, which is why they have their place with me too. Building a whole evening on them is not my line, though. I'm also not your DJ for techno with no connection to the crowd, for a list ticked off title by title, or for festivals with several stages. There are colleagues who are really good at that and love it; nothing against them, it's simply not my territory.
What I do is live mixing for guests who want an evening with feeling: clean transitions, the right title at the right moment, more than letting a playlist run. That is why I tell you openly beforehand what doesn't suit me, so that you aren't disappointed on the night.
If that doesn't suit your party, I'm not the right DJ, and that's fine. If it does, let's talk.
