Wedding venues in Hagen

Weddings in Hagen.

First I ask whether you celebrate in a museum, a palace, a hall in the Volme valley or by the water, because each of these rooms sounds different. I show you four addresses: a panorama restaurant in a former quarry, a museum from the Folkwang era, an Art Nouveau villa by Henry van de Velde and a moated castle. Which place suits you is up to you; I plan the set-up and the programme afterwards.

From the Volme valley to the Lenne: weddings in Hagen

Hagen is spread across valleys and heights, so your possible venues are far apart: a panorama hall at the edge of the quarry, a villa in the greenery, a moated castle near the Ruhr. Because rooms resonate so differently, I only choose speakers and positioning once you know your venue.

In a museum the protection of the exhibition matters, in a hall the volume with many guests, outdoors the weather. What I need for this we discuss in the video call, together with your programme.

Stadthalle Hagen, Panoramarestaurant Felsenblick

Wasserloses Tal, Volmetal

The Stadthalle was built in 1981 in a former quarry. Since October 2019 the operator's website lists the panoramic restaurant Felsenblick, which takes up to 150 guests for wedding celebrations and can glow in any colour in the evening. How music and light work together there we discuss once you have agreed the date with the venue.

Osthaus Museum Hagen

Museumsplatz 1, Hagen

The house goes back to the Folkwang Museum of Karl Ernst Osthaus and has existed since 1902. The operator's website mentions Henry van de Velde Art Nouveau rooms. Whether and in what setting celebrations are possible there is for the museum to answer; after that we clarify routes, power and protection of the exhibition.

Hohenhof

Gartenstadt Hohenhagen, Hagen

In 1906 Karl Ernst Osthaus commissioned Henry van de Velde to design his family home, which was ready to move into in 1908. The villa is regarded as an Art Nouveau total work of art and is open as a museum at weekends. Whether celebrations are possible there, you ask the Kunstquartier Hagen before we talk about equipment and music.

Wasserschloss Werdringen

Vorhalle, Hagen

The castle lies near the Ruhr and the Harkortsee, has belonged to the city of Hagen since 1977 and has housed the Museum of Prehistory and Early History, now the Archaeology Museum, since 2004. A small castle café belongs to it. If you would like to celebrate there, ask the city; I plan power and positioning once that is settled.

Years and room details come from Wikipedia and the websites of the operators named (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free and how many guests fit in can only be answered by the venue itself.

Symbolic wedding ceremony in Hagen

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Hagen lies where the Ruhr area gives way to the hills of the Sauerland, and I hear that at weddings too: guests from the steel city often want different tracks from relatives from the countryside. After more than 650 weddings I know how to bring both sides to one table, by putting classics at the beginning and gradually weaving in your own style.

I collect your edit wish, the no-gos and the plan for the day from you in advance, so that nothing looks accidental in the evening. When the meal is served and how long you dance, we decide together.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Hagen.

Send me the date and place, and you will have my answer on the same or the next day. Then follow the video call, agreement with the venue and the set-up on the wedding day.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

You send me the date and venue, and I reply the same day, at the latest within 24 hours. The video call commits you to nothing: we get to know each other and gather ideas, and only then do you receive your quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

With your booking I unlock the wedding portal, a web app for favourite songs, no-gos, special moments and the schedule. About a week before the celebration we speak on the phone and go through the day point by point.

  3. Set-up & sound check

On the wedding day I arrive in good time, set up in about 40 minutes, check the sound in the empty room and coordinate with the speaker, photographer and catering staff.

  4. Ceremony & reception

Your chosen tracks play for the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit. During the reception the music stays quietly in the background, and where there is no socket within reach, the battery takes over.

  5. Dinner & programme items

During the meal I hold back. Speeches run through the wireless microphone, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I choose the right track each time.

  6. Opening dance & party

The dancing starts with your edit wish. After that I watch who stays on the floor and adjust the set until young and old sing the last track together.

Everything behind
the mix

At your wedding, guests from the city and the surrounding area will probably celebrate together, which is why soul classics stand alongside current chart hits. From the first consultation to the final song, the music stays with one contact person.

Which track comes next is decided by the mood in the hall; the microphone belongs to your speakers, and I do not push myself into the foreground.

LED uplights bathe the hall in your colours and pulse to the beat of the music if you wish.

Music genres

I mix disco, soul, pop and chart hits according to the mood of your guests and not according to a rigid plan.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

Set-up including sound check takes a good 40 minutes, the system needs only about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and after the last track I take everything down myself. For that, about 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the set-up point, no stairs or lifts) set-up takes around 40 minutes.

Music for the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit runs on battery if you wish, so you do not need to have any power cable laid.

Optional: extras

A photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book can be added, and I take care of the coordination.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Hagen want to know.

Here is what couples usually ask me before booking, and for anything else you can simply call me.

+49 176 700 580 27
We are getting married in Hagen in a venue with restrictions, for example for fire safety or listed-building status: how does the coordination with the venue work then?

Tell me the venue and I will ask the operator about power, set-up time and access routes. If a requirement changes the plan, I will get in touch before you have to book anything.

Some of our guests come from the Sauerland, the others from the Ruhr area: do two different tastes in music clash there?

I have solutions for that. I start with tracks that work in both regions and watch which group heads for the dance floor first. Then I gradually shift the set in that direction without losing the other side.

Our celebration at the Harkortsee is meant to take place outdoors: what happens if it rains?

From the start I plan a dry spot for the decks and speakers, otherwise the equipment depends on the weather forecast. We will talk through your fallback area in the video call, so nothing has to be improvised on the day.

Our venue closes at midnight: can the evening be tailored to that time?

Yes, I build the evening backwards from the finishing time. When the opening dance comes, when the floor should be full and which track closes the night, I write down with you in advance.

We do not yet know whether we will get a Saturday in summer: should we still enquire?

Yes, give me two or three preferred dates. I will tell you which of them are free with me before you commit to the venue.

Our witnesses have prepared a game: how can that be fitted into the schedule?

I receive the length and the music they want in advance, agree the timing with you and bring the guests back to the dance floor afterwards with a familiar track.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

Live music can join the reception or ceremony: I put together saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin from my network. When they perform, we write into your schedule well before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

At the sparkling-wine reception beneath tall windows or in the castle courtyard, a saxophone sounds soft and gives the start of the celebration a lightness.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

Percussion drives the beat after the meal, and the dance floor often fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

A live voice gives your celebration the feel of a concert, and at the party it gladly passes the microphone on to the guests.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin makes the entrance festive and gives the meal an elegant setting that your guests will remember.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Non-stop Ballermann, après-ski and schlager?
I'll gladly slip in the right hit when it suits the mood.
A whole evening in that vein, though, is not my style.

Some DJs have specialised in exactly that.
You'll be in good hands with them.
    That's perfectly legitimate.
    I just work differently.

I specialise in live mixing at demanding events.
For anyone who knows that DJing is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right song at the right moment.
More than playing a ready-made playlist.

If that doesn't suit you, I'm not the right DJ, and that's fine.
If it does, then very gladly.
