Celebrating in Wuppertal
A villa on the slope, a vault in the valley or an old-building flat on the Ölberg: every room sounds different, and that is exactly what I tailor my set to. In Wuppertal you can celebrate your birthday in a moated castle, in a former public baths or next to the elephant enclosure. You will find five addresses and what they offer here.
In Wuppertal you celebrate in Gründerzeit villas, in converted industrial buildings or in your favourite local in the neighbourhood, and each of these rooms calls for different speakers and a different volume. As soon as I know where your guests will gather, I put the set together.
On a roof terrace or in the living room of an old building, a small setup is enough that does not overwhelm the room. We work out space and power source together; after about 40 minutes of setup everything is ready before the first guest rings the bell.
In the former public baths from 1882, the old men's pool now serves as the bar. The Brauzimmer holds 45 people and has its own entrance, the Brausaal 180. The venue lists family celebrations among its occasions. For a milestone birthday, I choose the system and the placement according to your guest count.
Where a hovercraft was once built, weddings and birthdays now take place, according to the operator. A catering team of its own is part of the house. The venue can tell you which rooms you can book and how many guests fit in; after that I decide where my set goes.
The restaurant lies between the elephant enclosure and the great ape house and, according to the city, can be rented for private celebrations outside opening hours as well. The operator can tell you how many guests fit in; I align my equipment accordingly.
The former moated castle in western Wuppertal has had a restaurant in the main building again since 2009, and the main building is also rented out for private events. Whether your birthday fits in there is something you clarify with the venue; I then adapt my set to it.
Besides the Great Hall of about 1,000 square metres, the Stadthalle has five smaller halls. For a big milestone birthday, it is worth asking the venue which room can be booked; given the ceiling height, I plan the placement and levels with you early.
The information on rooms and capacities comes from the operators' websites, from Wikipedia and from a city page about the zoo (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free is something only the respective venue knows.
Who I am
Your birthday in Wuppertal deserves more than an off-the-peg playlist. My craft comes from the nightclub, and today over 1450 private and corporate celebrations stand behind me. From classics and current hits I cut my own edits, so that friends from the neighbourhood and relatives from far away dance together without anyone being left out.
You tell me your wishes and no-gos in advance. In a preliminary conversation I am happy to explain the phases in which the evening builds, and the equipment is ready before your first guests arrive.

With the booking you receive my mobile number, because a lot can be sorted out fastest over WhatsApp. About a week beforehand, we go through requested songs, no-gos and the schedule together.
I arrive before your guests, set up the equipment in about 40 minutes and do the sound check. If there are steps or a narrow entrance, we have worked out the route for the equipment beforehand.
Quiet lounge music plays as guests arrive, so that they start chatting. For you as the birthday guest of honour and for special moments, I pick out a fitting track each time.
The programme gets its own music: during the meal it stays quiet, there is the microphone for speeches, and for games, surprises and cake I choose suitable tracks.
As soon as people dance, I take over completely, watch the mood and adapt the set to your guests until the last song fades out.

For setup I need a good 40 minutes and about 2.5 by 1.5 metres of space, and after the party I pack up myself. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
Lighting, photo station, live music and audio guest book can be added, and I handle the coordination.

First I choose songs everyone can sing along to; after that the evening moves towards indie, disco or hip-hop depending on the response. Anything that is off limits for you, you tell me beforehand.
Gladly, give me the title and the moment, and I will set up the transition so that the song comes in cleanly. If the title is missing from my collection, I will get it in good time.
I book popular spring weekends quickly, so it is best to get in touch early. During the week I can often help at short notice too; you get my answer within 24 hours.
My booth is happiest on a dry spot of about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, under a roof or protected by an umbrella. If there is no such spot, I will find a solution with you indoors or under a tent.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
