Company parties in Wuppertal

Company parties in Wuppertal.

Converted hall, concert hall or hotel banquet: every room in Wuppertal calls for different sound, so I first ask about the programme and number of guests. Six addresses, from the concert hall on the Johannisberg to the moated castle in the west, show how different your company evening can look: as a reception in the concert hall, as a staff party in the former public baths, or as a banquet in the conference hotel.

From the concert hall to the moated castle: corporate event in Wuppertal

In Wuppertal, a concert hall on the Johannisberg, a brewery pub in a former public bath, a conference hotel or a moated castle on the western edge all come into question for your event. The sound system you need follows from room size and audience, which is why I ask these two questions first.

Under stucco and high ceilings I first listen for reverberation, in a wide hall for the paths guests take between entrance, buffet and dance floor. We record the schedule in the briefing, and I handle the transport and setup of the equipment entirely myself.

Historische Stadthalle

Johannisberg, Elberfeld

The Stadthalle is the concert hall of the Sinfonieorchester Wuppertal and, according to Wikipedia, is also used for cabaret, exhibitions and smaller trade fairs. The Great Hall measures around 1,000 square metres and has about 1,550 seats, plus five smaller halls. With dimensions like that, we talk early about sound and technology.

Wuppertaler Brauhaus

Kleine Flurstraße, Barmen

The brewery in the former Barmen public baths names staff parties and company anniversaries as occasions, with up to 1200 people possible in total. The Brausaal holds 180 guests and has its own entrance, a bar and a buffet area. Stage, large screen and projector are available on site; what my equipment should do beyond that, we set in the briefing.

Bootshaus Wuppertal

Wuppertal

The venue, formerly a shipyard for a hovercraft, hosts conferences, seminars, meetings and corporate events, by its own account. Its own catering team looks after the guests. The venue can tell you how many people fit into which room; we discuss setup and walkways afterwards.

Schloss Lüntenbeck

Vohwinkel, Wuppertal

According to Wikipedia, the main building of the former moated castle is rented out for private and business events, such as conferences and seminars; there has been a restaurant there since 2009. For an evening in the countryside on the western edge of the city, we clarify power, access routes and space for the system early on.

Vienna House Easy by Wyndham Wuppertal

Wuppertal

The hotel has six meeting rooms, the largest measuring 297 square metres and offering room for up to 221 guests at a banquet. For larger groups, the venue names the neighbouring Historische Stadthalle as a further event location. For a banquet with dancing, we coordinate room, volume and equipment routes with the hotel.

Okavango im Zoo

Zoo Wuppertal

The restaurant in the zoo sits between the elephant enclosure and the great ape house. According to the city, it can also be rented for private parties outside opening hours; whether a company party is possible there, please ask the operator. For equipment and power in the outdoor area, we talk to the venue early on.

Rooms, occasions and size details come from the operators' websites, from Wikipedia and from a city page about the zoo (as of October 2026). Please check free dates with the respective venue.

Who I am

Michael Zimmermann – beats per micha.

Annual reception, summer party or Christmas party: how your evening in Wuppertal unfolds determines how I build the music. I learned my craft in the discotheque, and by now over 1450 private and business events stand behind me. In the initial conversation, we record with you when speeches are planned and when the volume may rise.

I cut transitions myself, so the mood does not break off after a programme item. I supply the console, speakers and wireless microphones myself and do the sound check before doors open. If technical staff work in the venue, I coordinate with them directly.

From 1970s soul to current charts: we agree the programme beforehand, and I weave the styles into one whole.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

For setup I allow about 40 minutes and roughly 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and after the last track I pack everything up again. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

Good questions

What organisers in Wuppertal want to know.

These are the questions organisers ask me most often, and if yours is missing, simply pick up the phone.

+49 176 700 580 27
Our event in Wuppertal is in a hall with a high ceiling and stucco: Will everyone still understand the speech?

A high ceiling throws sound back, so I position the speakers carefully and test intelligibility in the empty hall. That way every speech stays clear without my having to turn up the volume. Please send me a few photos of the hall in advance.

We expect well over 150 guests: is your system sufficient?

I design my standard system for events of up to about 150 people. For larger gatherings we need more speakers; I handle the planning with a technical partner whom you will meet before you commit.

Several departments are celebrating together and barely know each other: How do you loosen up the evening?

At first I play familiar pieces that do not disturb conversation; I only pick up the tempo once the floor fills on its own. We fix awards and other programme items beforehand, so you do not have to steer anything during the evening.

Our summer party is outdoors on sloping ground: Where can the system go?

For my system I need just under four square metres of level, dry ground with power within reach. On a slope, a photo of the site shows me where that is possible.

Our company party is in the calendar, but there is no concept yet: when is it worth sending you the first message?

From your enquiry to the event, I count on four to eight weeks of preparation. For large events and the peak season, plan more time, and I answer your message within a day.

Our works council wants a say in the music: How does that work?

I am glad to hear it. Send me a list where your works council and the teams enter their tracks; I add what suits the occasion, and titles on your exclusion list stay out.

What sets me apart

DJ+ – my extra for special evenings.

If needed, we can add live music to a standing reception or gala: vocals, violin, saxophone and percussion are available through my network. We decide together when the performance works best in the programme.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Main-time peak · gala champagne reception

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone adds warmth to the standing reception in the foyer and gently guides the guests into the evening.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Summer party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

Percussion adds punch to the mix in a large hall, without you having to find room for a whole band.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Live-band feeling · party time & special moments

DJ + vocals

When a singer performs well-known hits live, the party turns into a stage moment that your staff will happily sing along to.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Galas & awards · music from the first note

DJ + violin

At the gala, a violin gives the reception dignity and makes even the welcome of the guests feel festive.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

If you want live music already at the reception or dinner, I'll arrange a well-rehearsed band of two to four musicians for you. After that I keep playing without a break, and because the planning is in my hands, I remain your single point of contact.

I also look after company parties in Solingen, Remscheid, Hagen and the neighbouring towns; you will find an overview of the locations further down.

You tell me the occasion, date and number of guests, and in a video call we sort out the music, schedule and venue. In the briefing before the event, we go through the stages of your evening one by one. On the day of the event I set up in about 40 minutes and check the empty room. My standard system is enough for up to 150 guests; for a larger audience I bring in technical partners.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

A programme made up exclusively of party-anthem and Schlager hits doesn't suit me. Guests at any company party like a few sing-along classics, but building the whole evening on them isn't my style. I'm also the wrong contact for techno sets with no connection to your guests, for wish lists that run rigidly from top to bottom, or for multi-stage festivals. Colleagues who love exactly that take such jobs.

My craft is live mixing for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.

If that doesn't fit your event, I'm not the right person, and that's perfectly fine. If it does fit, we'll discuss the details.
