Company parties in Bielefeld

Company parties in Bielefeld.

In a city where family businesses, mid-sized companies and corporations sit side by side, event spaces differ greatly, so I first ask about programme, room and guest count. Five addresses, from the Lokschuppen to the Historisches Museum, show how different your company evening can look: as a summer party with a beer garden, as a gala in the spinning mill hall or as a reception in a small circle.

Spinning mill hall or Lokhalle: a corporate event in Bielefeld

Your event in Bielefeld can take place in a hall in the Ravensberger Park, in the halls of the Lokschuppen or in a venue in Bethel; I plan the sound accordingly. Depending on room size and guest count, different amounts of sound pressure are needed, and I need both details from you first.

A hall with columns calls for a different layout than an open hall: in one case I check sight lines and walkways, in the other the size of the room. We record the order of the programme items in the briefing; I carry out setup and teardown on my own.

Lokschuppen

Stadtheider Straße, Bielefeld

The operator lists seminars, trade fairs, congresses and corporate events as occasions; the building covers more than 4,000 square metres and has two halls with separate entrances. Because two events can also run in parallel there, I clarify with the venue when and where I may set up.

Ravensberger Spinnerei, Großer Saal

Ravensberger Park, Bielefeld-Mitte

Around 450 square metres with pillars, a fixed bar and a stage area, up to 360 people depending on seating; layout plans for rows, herringbone and trade-fair setups are available from the park. For a gala or anniversary, we coordinate lectern, sound and dance floor in one plan.

Hechelei in Ravensberger Park

Ravensberger Park, Bielefeld-Mitte

For the Hechelei, the park names corporate events and conferences, and for celebrations the continuation with a DJ or live band; a stage, a gallery, three bars and a beer garden are part of it. Where the official part ends and the dancing begins, we settle in the briefing.

Historical Museum, lecture hall and foyer

Ravensberger Park, Bielefeld-Mitte

For seminars or small receptions with 40 to 80 people, in a room that can be darkened. For a department anniversary or a client reception, I talk with you beforehand about how quiet the background should stay.

Neue Schmiede

Bethel, Bielefeld

By its own account, the venue in Bethel caters for everything from team meetings to multi-day international congresses, with accessible rooms for up to 260 people. For the social evening afterwards, we work out which room suits your guest numbers.

Rooms, occasions and size details come from the operators' pages and from Wikipedia (as of October 2026). Please discuss free dates directly with the venue concerned.

Who I am

Michael Zimmermann – beats per micha.

Welcome, awards, dance floor: the schedule of your evening in Bielefeld determines how I build the music. What makes a dance floor work, I have learned at over 1450 events, private and corporate. In the initial conversation we note when speeches are planned and when the party starts.

I edit my transitions myself, so no programme item ends abruptly. Wireless microphones and sound system are mine, and setup and soundcheck are part of the job. If the venue handles the technology itself, I coordinate directly with the colleagues there, so nobody has to go searching on the day of the event.

Everything behind
the mix

At company parties several generations dance together, which is why soul sits next to current charts in my sets. Once you hire me, I plan the music step by step through to the last track.

The set is built live from the mood in the room. I stay in the background and use the microphone only for speeches and programme items.

One fixed contact person

I get back to you within 24 hours and guide the planning personally, with no waiting queue.

An evening that is planned beforehand

It starts with your music wish list. I handle the coordination with the venue and suppliers myself, and tracks that do not suit the occasion are consistently left out at your request.

Turntable and mixing desk in warm light Open Format

Music genres

From 1970s soul to current charts, we agree your programme in advance, and I weave the styles into a whole.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

My setup takes about 40 minutes and needs roughly 2.5 by 1.5 metres of space, and after the last track I take everything away again. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth is enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) the setup takes about 40 minutes.

Gala ballroom with stage, set tables and DJ booth (AI-generated) Premium

Gala & Awards

I approach a gala or a company anniversary with the same standards as any celebration, from the first guest to the farewell.

Optional: extras

If you would like live music, a photo station or uplights, I plan that into the same discussion.

Good questions

What organisers in Bielefeld want to know.

These are the questions organisers ask me most often, and if yours is missing, simply pick up the phone.

Our party takes place in Bielefeld in a brick hall with pillars: how do you handle the sound in a room like that?

I place the speakers so that there is still clarity behind the columns, and I keep the level low enough for conversation. A floor plan or a few photos are enough for me for initial planning.

Production, sales and administration celebrate together at our company: how do you find music that everyone likes?

At the start I choose tracks that are familiar in every team, and then I widen the selection slowly. We collect beforehand which requests are circulating among the staff, so little is left to chance on the evening.

After dinner we honour long-serving staff and give two speeches: how do you ensure a smooth transition?

During speeches and tributes I stay quiet and pick up the microphone on your signal. Once the applause has faded, a familiar track comes in that brings the guests back into the evening without a break.

Our Christmas party is in early December: by when should we get in touch with you?

For company parties I usually allow four to eight weeks of lead time. If you are planning a large event or your date falls in the weeks before Christmas, enquire earlier; you will hear from me on the status of your date the day after your message.

We only get access to the hall shortly before guests arrive: how much time do you need for setup?

Including the sound check I am ready after about 40 minutes. If decoration and catering occupy the hall beforehand, I adapt my setup to your schedule and start correspondingly later.

We need a proper invoice for our accounting department: how do you handle that?

After the event you receive an invoice from me, which you settle within one week. You already know the line items from the quote, so your accounting department will find no surprises.

What sets me apart

DJ+ – my extra for special evenings.

If you would like vocals, violin, saxophone or percussion at your celebration, I can arrange musicians from my network. We agree in advance at which point of the evening a performance fits best.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Main-time peak · gala champagne reception

DJ + saxophone

At the reception in the foyer or the beer garden, a saxophone sounds relaxed and stylish, especially as the evening turns into night.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Summer party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

In a large hall with plenty of space, percussion gives the mix drive without a whole band and its equipment having to arrive.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Live-band feeling · party time & special moments

DJ + vocals

If you want to combine a conference atmosphere with party spirit, bring in a voice that sings hits live and gets your staff singing along.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Galas & awards · music from the first note

DJ + violin

At a gala, a violin lends the reception dignity, because its sound creates a festive mood the moment guests arrive.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

If you want live music already at the reception or dinner, I'll arrange a well-rehearsed band of two to four musicians for you. After that I keep playing without a break, and because the planning is in my hands, I remain your single point of contact.

For your corporate event in Bielefeld, you first tell me the occasion, date and expected number of guests, followed by a video call about music, schedule and room. In the briefing before the event, we go through the stages of your evening. On the day of the event, my equipment is set up after about 40 minutes, and I listen to the empty room. My standard system is enough for 150 guests; if there are more, I bring in technical partners.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

A programme made up exclusively of party-anthem and Schlager hits doesn't suit me. Guests at any company party like a few sing-along classics, but building the whole evening on them isn't my style. I'm also the wrong contact for techno sets with no connection to your guests, for wish lists that run rigidly from top to bottom, or for multi-stage festivals. Colleagues who love exactly that take such jobs.

My craft is live mixing for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.

If that doesn't fit your event, I'm not the right person, and that's perfectly fine. If it does fit, we'll discuss the details.
