Wedding venues in Bielefeld

Weddings in Bielefeld.

What interests me first is whether you are celebrating in an old spinning mill, in the Hechelei at the park or in a hall in Bethel, because brick, timber ceilings and steel beams reflect sound differently. I will show you five addresses: two halls in Ravensberger Park, the lecture hall of the Historical Museum, the Neue Schmiede in Bethel and a Lokschuppen from 1905. Which venue you choose is up to you, and we will then develop the plan for setup and schedule together.

From the Spinnerei to Bethel: weddings in Bielefeld

In Bielefeld you celebrate in halls where flax used to be spun, in a Lokschuppen or in a hall in Bethel. Masonry, pillars and galleries shape the sound; how I position the speakers, I settle once I know your venue and the number of guests.

The portal brings everything together on your theme and the tracks that should never be played. I manage the setup in about 40 minutes, and the still empty hall serves as my listening test before I have walked the guests' routes once.

Hechelei in Ravensberger Park

Ravensberger Park, Bielefeld-Mitte

Flax was hackled here from 1895, the park took over the building in 1993, and in early 1995 it opened as an event space on two levels with a stage, a gallery and three bars. The operator explicitly mentions wedding celebrations. You decide with the venue how tables and dance floor are arranged, and I then tune speakers and lighting to that plan.

Ravensberger Spinnerei, Großer Saal

Ravensberger Park, Bielefeld-Mitte

The main building of the former spinning mill dates from 1856. The Großer Saal offers around 450 square metres with pillars, levels and a permanent bar, for up to 360 people depending on the seating. Pillars block sight lines, so we settle in advance where I will have the floor in view.

Neue Schmiede

Bethel, Bielefeld

The venue on Handwerkerstraße advertises flexible room layouts for up to 260 people and lists the wedding celebration among its occasions; the restaurant also has a beer garden. The team will tell you which room suits your number of guests, and then I plan the setup with you.

Lokschuppen

Stadtheider Straße, Bielefeld

The railway depot was built between 1905 and 1907 and reopened in September 2018 after a complete renovation. The hall measures more than 4,000 square metres, a small hall has its own entrance, and the operator rents it out for private celebrations. With so much space, we clarify early how many guests are coming and how the floor will be divided.

Historical Museum, lecture hall and foyer

Ravensberger Park, Bielefeld-Mitte

According to the operator, the lecture hall and foyer are suitable for small receptions of 40 to 80 people, and the room can be darkened. If you want to separate the reception from the evening party, you can start here; I will agree the volume and the transition to the next room with you.

Rooms, years and sizes come from the operators' websites and from Wikipedia (as of October 2026). Whether your Saturday is free and how many guests fit into the venue is something the venue itself can answer.

Humanist wedding ceremony in Bielefeld

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Bielefeld grew as a linen town, and weddings are celebrated today in the brick halls of the old spinning mill. Anyone marrying there has pillars, galleries and high walls in the room, and that shapes my planning: first I ask about height, floor and walls, because that is where it is decided how clearly speeches and music reach your guests.

More than 650 weddings have shown me that parties from East Westphalia like to dance together when the start is right. You enter your favourite tracks and no-gos in the portal beforehand, and I cut the transitions in between myself.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Bielefeld.

Send me the date and venue, and you will get an answer within 24 hours. A video call, coordination with the venue and the setup on the day of the celebration follow.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

You tell me the date and the venue, and I get back to you the same day, at the latest within 24 hours. The video call commits you to nothing: we get to know each other, collect ideas, and afterwards you receive your quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

With the booking, the wedding portal opens, a web app for favourite songs, no-gos, special moments and the schedule. About a week beforehand we talk on the phone and go through the programme step by step.

  3. Set-up & sound check

On the wedding day I arrive in good time, set up in around 40 minutes, check the sound in the empty room and coordinate with the speaker, photographer and catering staff.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit, the pieces you have chosen are played. At the reception, subtle lounge music plays, and if there is no power socket outside, the battery steps in.

  5. Dinner & programme items

During the meal the music stays quiet. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I pick the fitting track each time.

  6. Opening dance & party

Your requested edit opens the dance, then I watch the floor and keep adjusting the set until young and old celebrate the last track together.

Music genres

I mix disco, soul, pop and current charts the way your guests take to them in the evening, and not according to a rigid list.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

Setup and soundcheck take a good 40 minutes, the system needs only 2.5 by 1.5 metres of space, and after the last track I pack everything away myself. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

For the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit, the music runs on a battery, so a nearby power socket is not needed.

Optional: extras

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Bielefeld want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call.

+49 176 700 580 27
We are getting married in Bielefeld in an old spinning mill with pillars in the hall: do the pillars affect the sound?

Pillars reflect sound and block sight lines, so I place the speakers so that both halves of the hall hear equally well. A floor plan or a few photos are enough for my first draft, and you will see in advance where I will be standing.

Our guests come from Lippe, the Münsterland and the Sauerland: how do you find music that everyone likes?

I ask about age groups and backgrounds beforehand and start with tracks that young and old both know. From there I move step by step towards your favourites, so nobody gets left behind along the way.

After the party indoors we want to dance outside as well, but it rains quickly in East Westphalia: how do you handle that?

For speakers and cables, I find a dry fallback spot with you in advance. Whether it is indoors or under the tent is up to you and the venue, and I prepare for both options.

We are celebrating in the afternoon with coffee and cake and in the evening with dancing: does the music run all the way through?

In the afternoon I keep the music quietly in the background, and after dinner I take over with my mix. We put the switch into the schedule, you just tell me when the cake arrives.

Our hall holds a good 120 guests: is the sound system you bring enough for that?

Yes, my standard system, which I bring myself, covers up to 150 guests. If more guests come or the room is very high, I bring additional equipment.

We do not have a fixed date yet, just a preferred month in summer: can you still tell us something already?

Give me two or three possible Saturdays, then I will check them and get back to you within 24 hours. If you want to be sure in summer, better write to me early, because the popular dates go quickly.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you would like live music for the reception or ceremony, I can arrange saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin. We will discuss when they play long before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone sounds warm and light in a beer garden or courtyard in the early evening, especially as dusk sets in.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

Percussion gives the beat a boost after dessert, and the dance floor fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

Live vocals give your celebration the shine of a concert, and once the party starts, the microphone can be passed on to the guests.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin accompanies your entrance and turns the meal into a festive opening that stays in your guests' memory.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
