Company parties in Herne

Company parties in Herne.

Factory hall, hall in the park or foyer: rooms in Herne differ a lot, so I first ask about the programme, number of guests and location. From a conference followed by a party, through a reception in a museum foyer, to a summer party in the park: these five addresses cover what your company evening in Herne might need.

Hall, ballroom or museum foyer: corporate event in Herne

Your party can take place in a former factory hall, in a hall in the park or in the foyer of a museum, and each of these rooms sounds different. That is why I would like to know the floor area, number of guests and programme in advance.

In historic buildings I first clarify routes and set-up areas with the venue, in modern rooms rather the amount of equipment. We put your programme items in writing; I handle transport and dismantling myself.

Veranstaltungszentrum Gysenberg

Am Revierpark 40, Sodingen

The venue lists company party, gala, seminar and conference as occasions. The Großer Saal takes 50 to 300 participants and can be divided, with catering available as a set menu or buffet. You settle room and date with the venue, and then we fix the booth, speakers and breaks in the mix.

LWL-Museum für Archäologie und Kultur

Europaplatz 1, Herne

The museum, which opened in 2003, lies mostly underground, with a building area of around 6,800 square metres. According to Wikipedia, there are conference rooms on the ground floor and a cinema in the basement. Whether and how companies can use the rooms is answered by the Landschaftsverband Westfalen-Lippe.

Flottmann-Hallen

Straße des Bohrhammers 5, Herne

The halls dating from 1908 are listed buildings and opened as a cultural centre in October 1986. The grounds include a sculpture park. The city of Herne can tell you which areas can be booked for corporate events; I then agree routes and parking areas with the venue.

Mondpalast

Wilhelmstraße 26, Wanne

The Volkstheater in the former Städtischer Saalbau has 500 seats and has been in operation since 28 January 2004. Whether the hall or the foyer is hired out for company evenings is something only the venue knows. As a fixed programme runs in the house, we clarify the technology with the operator especially early.

Schloss Strünkede

Baukau, Herne

The moated castle was first mentioned in 1243 and has belonged to the city of Herne since 1948; the Emschertal-Museum has been based in the house since 1938. For an anniversary it is a setting with history. The rooms are allocated by the city; I then clarify routes and power with the venue.

Room details, years and occasions come from Wikipedia and the operators named, as of October 2026. Please discuss available dates directly with the respective venue.

Who I am

Michael Zimmermann – beats per micha.

Before I choose a track, I want to know when speeches are given, honours awarded and dinner served at your event. That shapes how I build my music in Herne. I learned the craft in the disco, and over 1450 events, private and corporate, have followed.

I cut the transitions between tracks myself, so nothing breaks off after a speech. PA system, wireless microphones, setup and soundcheck are down to me; if your venue has its own technicians, I coordinate directly with them. For honours I keep pauses in the mix ready.

Music genres

From 1970s soul to current charts, we agree your programme in advance, and I weave the styles into a whole.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

My setup takes around 40 minutes and needs about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and after the last track I take everything away again. About 2.5 m of width and 1.5 m of depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.

Gala ballroom with stage, set tables and DJ booth (AI-generated) Premium

Gala & Awards

I take a gala or a company anniversary as seriously as any other celebration, from the first guest to the farewell.

Optional: extras

If you wish, I include live music, a photo station or uplights in the same coordination.

Good questions

What organisers in Herne want to know.

These are the questions organisers ask me most often, and if yours isn't there, just get in touch with me directly.

With us the sites only see each other at the annual party: how do you make sure the dance floor still fills up?

People who rarely see each other need room to talk, and I leave that room to your team. I start with quieter songs in the background and only build up after the meal, once the group has warmed up.

Our management gives a speech and honours long-serving employees: How does that work with the music?

I agree a signal with you in advance. For the announcement I take the music out, for the honouring I play a track that you choose, and afterwards I open up the evening again.

We are celebrating in a former factory hall with a concrete floor: What does that mean for the sound?

I listen to the room before the guests arrive and aim the speakers so that voices stay intelligible. Hard surfaces let sound ring on; in that case I lower the level and let the rhythm carry.

Our summer party in Herne is in June: How early do we need to enquire with you?

For your party, an enquiry four to eight weeks ahead is usually enough. If it is a large event or your party falls in the middle of peak season, get in touch earlier, then your preferred date is more likely to stay free.

We have more than 150 guests in a large hall: Is your standard setup enough for that?

My standard system covers up to 150 people. If the group is larger, technicians from my partner network add to the sound reinforcement, so that the last table does not hear worse than the first. I will sketch the concept as soon as I know the hall and the numbers.

Trainees work alongside long-serving colleagues close to retirement: How do you cater for everyone?

The opening belongs to songs that your trainees and your long-serving colleagues alike know. Once the room has warmed up, I switch between older classics and new chart hits. We discuss in advance by phone which groups you particularly have in mind.

What sets me apart

DJ+ – my extra for special evenings.

For vocals, violin, saxophone or percussion at your event, I put together musicians from my network. We decide beforehand at what point in the evening a performance works best.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Main-time peak · gala champagne reception

DJ + saxophone

At a reception in the foyer, a saxophone sounds relaxed and elegant, especially when the evening carries on into the night later.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Summer party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

In a spacious hall, percussion gives the mix drive without a whole band and its equipment having to turn up, and the floor fills.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Live-band feeling · party time & special moments

DJ + vocals

If you want to combine an award ceremony with a party mood, add a singer who performs hits live and gets the whole workforce singing along.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Galas & awards · music from the first note

DJ + violin

A violin makes the reception of a gala feel festive right away, as soon as the first guests are standing at the cloakroom.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

If you want live music already at the reception or dinner, I'll arrange a well-rehearsed band of two to four musicians for you. After that I keep playing without a break, and because the planning is in my hands, I remain your single point of contact.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

A programme made up exclusively of party-anthem and Schlager hits doesn't suit me. Guests at any company party like a few sing-along classics, but building the whole evening on them isn't my style. I'm also the wrong contact for techno sets with no connection to your guests, for wish lists that run rigidly from top to bottom, or for multi-stage festivals. Colleagues who love exactly that take such jobs.

My craft is live mixing for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.

If that doesn't fit your event, I'm not the right person, and that's perfectly fine. If it does fit, we'll discuss the details.
