Wedding venues in Bottrop

Weddings in Bottrop.

Brick hall, museum garden or a terrace in the countryside: first I ask about the room and space, because that determines speakers, power and set-up. Four addresses show how different your wedding in Bottrop can look: an industrial hall from 1911, a museum in the Stadtgarten, a landmark on the spoil tip and a ski hall with a beer garden. Once the venue is fixed, I plan the equipment and schedule.

Spoil tip, hall and museum garden: a wedding in Bottrop

A wedding in Bottrop can take place in the town centre, in the Stadtgarten or out in Kirchhellen, and each of these places calls for a different set-up. That is why the first thing I want to know is where you are celebrating and how many guests you expect.

Before the celebration I sort out with you or your venue how I get in, where the power is and where the system goes. You enter your songs and no-gos in the portal; my set-up takes 40 minutes and is finished before the first guest arrives.

Lokschuppen Bottrop

Gabelsbergerstraße 19a, Bottrop

According to the operator, the hall dates from 1911, locomotives were repaired there until 1928, and it has been an event venue since 2001. The website lists the ceremony and wedding reception as occasions; the organiser takes care of the menu or buffet, stage equipment, seating and decoration. Where my booth goes, we decide as soon as the floor plan is known.

Josef Albers Museum Quadrat

Anni-Albers-Platz 1, Stadtgarten

The municipal museum stands in the Stadtgarten; the museum building by Bernhard Küppers opened in 1976, and the Josef Albers Gallery was added in October 2022. The sculpture park includes works by Max Bill and Donald Judd, among others. Whether rooms can be hired for celebrations is something only the museum can answer.

Tetraeder

Halde Beckstraße, Batenbrock

The landmark opened on German Unity Day in 1995; the steel structure weighs 210 tonnes and has platforms at 18, 32 and 38 metres; the climb up the spoil tip is 387 steps. No celebration takes place on the tip; whether a group climbs up is something you clear with the city, and the music for the evening in the hall afterwards with me.

alpincenter Bottrop

Halde Prosperstraße, Bottrop

The hall opened on 7 January 2001, and the slope is 640 metres long. According to the operator, the ski hall and beer garden can be hired exclusively for private events. Whether a wedding celebration is possible there is something you discuss with the sales team; we talk about power and set-up afterwards.

Dates and details about the venues come from Wikipedia and the operators' websites, as of October 2026. Whether your date is free and how many guests fit is something each venue can tell you.

Humanist wedding ceremony in Bottrop

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Bottrop was long a colliery town, and at weddings you can often still feel it: families are large, circles of friends go back a long way, and everyone knows each other. So I start with songs that everyone from grandpa to niece can hum along to, and bring in your own taste more strongly after the meal.

You enter your favourite songs, no-gos and the daily schedule in advance. When dinner is served, who speaks and when the dance floor is yours, you decide together with me. I leave room for quiet moments, just as for the moment when everyone streams onto the floor.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Bottrop.

I reply to your message with date and venue by the next day at the latest. After that come a video call, coordination with the venue and, on the wedding day, the set-up.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

You send me the date and venue, and I get back to you the same day, within 24 hours at the latest. The video call doesn't commit you to anything: we get to know each other, collect ideas, and afterwards you receive your quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

Once you book, I unlock the wedding portal, a web app for favourite songs, no-gos, special moments and your schedule. About a week before the celebration, we go through the day over the phone, point by point.

  3. Set-up & sound check

On the day I arrive in good time, set up in about 40 minutes, check the sound in the empty room and coordinate with the speaker, photographer and catering staff.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, ring exchange and exit, the tracks you have chosen are played. During the reception the music stays quietly in the background, and where there is no socket, the battery powers the system.

  5. Dinner & programme items

During the meal I keep the music subdued. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I pick the right track.

  6. Opening dance & party

The dancing begins with the edit of your choice. After that I watch who stays on the floor and keep adjusting the set until young and old sing the last track together.

Several generations are probably celebrating with you, so classics sit alongside current hits. From the first agreement to the last song, the music stays in one pair of hands.

Which track comes next sets the mood in the hall; the microphone belongs to your speakers, and I stay in the background.

LED uplights bathe the hall in your colours and, if you wish, change in time with the music.

An evening that is planned beforehand

We discuss requests and no-gos right at the start, and I handle contact with the venue and suppliers myself.

Music genres

I blend pop, disco, soul and current chart hits, according to what the guests in your hall are responding to at the time.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

Set-up including the soundcheck takes a good 40 minutes, the system needs only about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and after the last song I take it down myself. About 2.5 m in width and 1.5 m in depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the set-up spot, no stairs or lifts) the set-up takes around 40 minutes.

If you wish, I accompany the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit with battery-powered equipment, so you don't need a power socket nearby.

Optional: extras

A photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book can be added, and I take care of the coordination.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Bottrop want to know.

These are the questions I hear from couples most often, and if yours isn't there, just get in touch with me directly.

We would like to take our wedding photos at the Tetraeder in Bottrop and then carry on celebrating in the hall: how do you handle the music in between?

While you are on your way I play quiet tracks or switch the system off completely, whichever you prefer. When you return I play a song you choose, so that I bring everyone back into the room together.

Our hall used to be a workshop and has high walls: how do you get a warm sound there?

Before we start I listen to the empty hall and set the speakers so that speeches stay easy to understand. If the walls throw sound back, I turn the level down and let the beat carry the floor.

The bride's family likes Schlager, the groom's prefers rock: how do you treat both fairly?

After a few tracks I switch direction without announcing it, so that one side dances and then the other. Tell me which songs your relatives sing along to and I will build the evening around them.

My grandfather worked at Prosper-Haniel, can you work in a miners' song without it feeling awkward?

Yes, if you tell me the title and decide the moment, for example before the toast or during a speech. After that the usual mix carries on, so the song stands on its own and I do not let your guests slip into wistfulness.

We are getting married outdoors, far from any power socket: how does the music get there?

For outdoor ceremonies I work with battery-powered equipment, so I do not need a cable. It is easiest to show me on a photo or site plan where the music should stand.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

For the reception or ceremony I put together saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin from my network. When they play, we enter in your schedule long before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

At an outdoor drinks reception a saxophone sounds soft and gives the guests' arrival a light touch before the meal begins.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After the meal, percussion brings energy, puts the beat under the mix, and the dance floor fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

With a live voice, the entrance becomes a moment you keep, and later it brings guests up to the microphone when the hall wants to sing along.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin gives the entrance a festive frame and makes the meal feel more elegant, without disturbing conversation at the table.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
