Michael Zimmermann at the mixing desk at a wedding celebration in Leipzig

Wedding DJ Leipzig · Events since 2004

Your wedding day in Leipzig, mixed the way you want to celebrate it.

My name is Michael Zimmermann, and I put the music together for your wedding celebration in Leipzig, from the drinks reception to the last dance. I bring more than 25 years of practice and over 1450 events to it, more than 650 of them weddings. In a city so shaped by choirs and orchestras, the sound system should never be pushy: your day is at the centre, not the decks. beats per micha: Michael Zimmermann, wedding DJ, available in Leipzig and the surrounding area.

Wedding venues in Leipzig

Weddings in Leipzig.

A small palace with a garden, a vaulted cellar and a factory hall each call for a different sound, which is why I first ask about the room and the outdoor space. I introduce five venues, from the summer palace in Gohlis via the wine rooms beneath Grimmaische Straße, a villa at the Rosental and the baroque hall on the Naschmarkt to the ballroom in Plagwitz, and for each one I plan the setup and schedule together with you.

Palace, vaulted cellar or factory hall: weddings in Leipzig

For your wedding day you will find plenty side by side in Leipzig: a summer palace with a garden in Gohlis, wine rooms beneath a shopping arcade, a baroque hall at the Naschmarkt and former industrial sites in Plagwitz. Each of these places changes the sound, and I then set up speakers, positioning and schedule accordingly.

If your celebration has a guiding theme, we collect the matching pieces together and drop everything that does not fit. I start setting up early enough that the sound is checked before the first guest arrives.

Gohliser Schlösschen

Gohlis, Leipzig

The merchant and city architect Johann Caspar Richter had the little palace built in 1756 as a summer house. According to the City of Leipzig, the Oesersaal is also available for weddings, and there is a restaurant and café as well. Whether you celebrate in the hall or plan the reception beforehand decides the cable routes and speakers, and we discuss that in advance.

Auerbachs Keller

Mädler-Passage, Grimmaische Straße 2-4, Leipzig

The four historic wine rooms date from the 16th to the 19th century and, according to the venue, are open for celebrations from 20 people, with weddings expressly mentioned. The Salon Anton Mädler holds up to 45 guests with a menu or buffet. In such small, vaulted rooms I keep the level low and work out with you where the dancing should take place.

Villa Rosental

Humboldtstraße 1, Leipzig

On its own website the villa describes itself as a stylish event venue in the centre and offers a package for weddings and parties. Which rooms suit your guest numbers is something you learn from the venue. As soon as it is settled where the dancing will be, I adapt my equipment to it.

Alte Börse

Naschmarkt 2, Leipzig

According to the Stadtgeschichtliches Museum, the Alte Börse of 1678 is the city's oldest baroque building, and its hall is rented out for private and public celebrations; it has room for 199 people. A hall of this size does not always need a lot of amplification, so we talk beforehand about how much sound system you really want.

Felsenkeller

Karl-Heine-Straße 32, Plagwitz, Leipzig

The Felsenkeller was built in 1890; the operator's website lists the large ballroom in the historic ensemble and Naumanns Tanzlokal as a small club, plus concerts, parties and balls. The site does not mention weddings, so ask the venue first whether your celebration is possible. My planning only begins with that answer.

I took rooms, guest numbers and occasions from the operators' websites and official sources, as of October 2026. Whether your date is free and how many guests fit in is something you clarify directly with the venue concerned.

Humanist ceremony in Leipzig

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

How your wedding in Leipzig should sound is up to you, and I make it audible. I began in a nightclub, private and corporate celebrations followed, and among my more than 1450 events are over 650 weddings. I do not sort the tracks by a fixed list but by what happens at your tables.

With my own edits I link decades of music so that grandparents, friends and colleagues stand on the same floor without a break. In the end your guests should be able to say: that was exactly your celebration.

How it works

From the first enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Leipzig.

One message is enough, you get a reply within 24 hours, and then come a video call, arrangements with the venue and the opening dance.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

Send me the date and venue as soon as both are fixed, and I will reply the same day, at the latest within 24 hours. In the video call there is no sales pressure, just getting to know each other, ideas and then your quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

With your booking, the wedding portal is yours. There you collect special moments, no-gos, favourite songs and the schedule in the web app; about a week before the celebration we talk by phone and go through everything.

  3. Set-up & sound check

While you are getting ready, I am already on site. Setting up takes me about 40 minutes, but I arrive well ahead of time, check the sound, go over details with the speaker and the photographer, and keep the equipment unobtrusive for your guests.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit, I use music to set the mood. At the reception that follows, subtle lounge music plays in the background, and even without a power connection outdoors everything works on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

The meal gets a calm soundtrack from me. Speeches go through the wireless microphone, and games, surprises and the bouquet toss each get the fitting sound.

  6. Opening dance & party

With your chosen edit you open the dance, and then the party begins. I see what the dance floor demands, adjust the set live and keep all generations moving until the end.

Everything behind
the mix

At my weddings, soul classics and current chart hits share the same evening, because several generations often sit at your tables. From the first contact to the last song, the music stays in one pair of hands.

Mixed live, microphone only when needed

What plays next, I decide by the mood in the room; I hold back, and the microphone belongs to speeches and programme items.

Festival hall in blue and violet uplighting Add-on

LED uplights bathe the room in the colour you choose, and over the course of the evening the lighting moves with the music.

Equipment that doesn't stand out

In my cases are two wireless microphones, lighting effects, a Pioneer or Denon console and speakers from RCF or Electro-Voice.

At the retro telephone your guests record their good wishes on tape, and after the celebration I cut the recordings into a finished audio file for you.

Music genres

Disco classics, Nineties hits and current chart tracks play side by side at my events, and the mood of your guests decides the order, not a rigid list.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

I arrive in good time before the start, set everything up calmly, check the sound and take it all down again myself after the celebration. About 2.5 m in width and 1.5 m in depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setting up takes around 40 minutes.

Symbolic wedding ceremony

For the entrance, ring exchange and exit of your humanist ceremony, my music works without a mains cable, as a powerful battery lasts through the whole ceremony.

Optional: extras

If you want a photo station, live music, uplights and an audio guest book together, you get everything from a single source, and I take care of the coordination.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Leipzig want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call.

+49 176 700 580 27
Can we request a particular piece for our entrance at our wedding in Leipzig, perhaps even a classical one?

Of course: tell me whether you want an organ piece by Bach or a choral arrangement, and I will source a good quality recording. I will cut it to the length your entrance needs so nobody has to rush. Whether music from a sound system is welcome in your room, you clarify beforehand with the venue.

Our celebration takes place in a vaulted cellar: will that be a problem for the music?

Under vaulted arches the sound lingers, so I turn the volume down and point the speakers towards the dance floor. If you send me photos of the room, I can tell you in advance how I will set it up. That way conversation at the table stays possible, and you still dance.

How do you get our parents and our university friends onto the same dance floor?

I start with songs both groups know and only raise the tempo once the floor is full. I use your favourite song as an anchor. If there are songs you absolutely do not want to hear, note them in the list before the party.

A friend of ours loves to sing: can she step up to the microphone with you?

Yes, agree the performance with me beforehand, and I will have a suitable backing ready and set the microphone so her voice carries. If you would like, we do a short soundcheck before the guests arrive.

How early should we get in touch if we want to marry in early summer?

Get in touch as soon as the date and the venue are fixed. For Saturdays in early summer, several months' notice is worthwhile; otherwise a few weeks are often enough. Within a day you will hear from me whether your date is free.

We are getting married in an old factory hall: do you need more equipment there than in a banquet hall?

That depends on your hall, because with high ceilings and bare walls I often need more speakers and a more careful placement. Send me photos and I will tell you in advance what I plan to bring. My standard package covers a celebration of up to 150 guests completely.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you would like live music for the reception or the ceremony, I can arrange saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin from my network. We settle well before the celebration when the performance works best.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

A saxophone with the aperitif gives the reception a soft, elegant opening, especially as the evening slowly turns to dusk.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After dessert, percussion gives the beat more punch, and the dance floor fills almost by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

With live vocals your wedding gets the glamour of a concert evening, and in the party phase your guests sing along at the microphone.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

A violin accompanies your entrance with a solemn sound and gives the meal the feel of a gala evening.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
