Michael Zimmermann at the DJ desk at a wedding celebration on the Lower Rhine

Wedding DJ Moers · Events since 2004

Your wedding in the old county on the Lower Rhine.

Moers was once a county of its own, and to this day you celebrate here in your own way. I am Michael Zimmermann, and I accompany your wedding with music from the reception to the last round on the dance floor. From over 650 weddings and more than 1,450 events in over 25 years, I know how to tell when a room is ready to dance. beats per micha: Michael Zimmermann, wedding DJ, available in Moers and the surrounding area.

Wedding venues in Moers

Weddings in Moers.

First I ask whether you are celebrating in a hotel ballroom, in a house by the water or within historic walls, because that decides how I set up speakers and lighting. Four addresses show you how different a wedding in Moers can be: a hotel with a large hall, a house with a garden, a castle and a park in the middle of the town.

Hotel ballroom, garden house or castle: a wedding in Moers

Whether you celebrate in Moers in a large hotel ballroom, in a house with a lawn or within historic walls, the room determines how I arrange the speakers and lighting. That is why I ask for the floor plan and number of guests before I decide on the setup.

In older buildings the passages are narrow and steps are frequent, so I check with the venue where I may carry my cases. The setup takes around 40 minutes; after that I walk once through the still empty room and listen to what reaches the guests.

Van der Valk Hotel Moers

Krefelder Straße 169, Moers

On its website the hotel lists six rooms, from the Kapellensaal with 65 square metres to the Bettenkampersaal with 580 square metres. According to the hotel, the latter holds 250 seats for a banquet and 600 for a reception. Which room suits your group, you settle with the hotel; I plan the dance floor afterwards.

Wasserhaus Moers am Danielshof

Moers

The venue explicitly lists weddings among its occasions and describes a large main room with open architecture. With fixed seating there is room for about 60 people, and for relaxed celebrations with standing and dining tables up to 100. For a group of that size, a compact setup is enough for me.

Schloss Moers

Moers

The complex goes back to a tuff stone tower from around 1200 and has belonged to the town since 1905. Today the building houses the Grafschafter Museum with 19 accessible rooms and the Schlosstheater Moers in the cellar rooms. Whether a wedding celebration is possible, you ask the town; within historic walls I find out beforehand where equipment may be placed.

Schlosspark Moers

Moers

The park has been laid out as an English landscape park since 1836 and has been a listed monument since 1989. The park café was built in 1930, and a rose garden was added in the 1920s. Whether a reception or photos in the park are possible, you ask the town; for outdoors I plan quiet music.

Details on the buildings, rooms and capacities come from Wikipedia and from the websites of the operators named (as of October 2026). Whether your date is free and how many guests fit is something only the respective venue can answer.

Symbolic wedding ceremony in Moers

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Your wedding in Moers will probably bring together families who have lived for generations in Kapellen, Meerbeck or the old town, along with friends from Duisburg and Krefeld. So that everyone dances together after dinner, I cut my transitions myself and let classics flow into current tracks without anyone hearing the join.

You enter your wishes and no-gos in the wedding portal, and we go through them in the video call. On the night I follow the dance floor rather than a rigid plan; I also take care of the arrangements with the venue, photographer and catering staff.

How it works

From the enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Moers.

A date and a venue are enough for a first message, and I reply the same or the next day. After that we settle wishes, times and setup in the video call.

Request a date
  1. Enquiry & first chat

I reply to your first message with the date and venue within 24 hours. The video call is only about getting to know each other: you tell me how the day should look, and I listen before any quote is made.

  2. Booking & portal access

After booking, I unlock the wedding portal for you. There you enter requested songs, no-gos and times, and about a week before the celebration we go over the schedule once more by phone.

  3. Set-up & sound check

On the wedding day I arrive in good time, set up in around 40 minutes, do the soundcheck and coordinate with the photographer, speakers and catering staff.

  4. Ceremony & reception

For the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit, the pieces you have chosen are played. During the sparkling wine reception the music stays quiet, and if there is no socket nearby, the system runs on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

During the meal I keep a low profile. A wireless microphone is ready for speeches, and for games, performances and the bouquet toss I pick the right piece each time.

  6. Opening dance & party

You open the dancing with your chosen song. After that I read the floor and change the set step by step until everyone is singing along at the end.

Children, parents and grandparents often have very different tastes. That is why I guide the planning myself, from the first conversation to the last track and without intermediaries.

Which track comes next depends on the mood in the room; the microphone belongs to your speakers, and I am not the centre of attention.

Music genres

My repertoire ranges from soul and disco to current charts; the mood of your guests decides which direction you hear.

Set-up and tear-down without any effort from you

Setup and soundcheck take a good 40 minutes on a footprint of 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and I do the dismantling alone afterwards. About 2.5 m in width and 1.5 m in depth are enough for this, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup area, no stairs or lifts) the setup takes around 40 minutes.

Symbolic wedding ceremony

On the meadow or in the park, the music for the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit plays through a battery-powered system, so you do not have to lay a cable anywhere.

Optional: extras

Photo station, live music, uplights and audio guest book can be added on request, and I take on the coordination effort.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Moers want to know.

These are the questions I hear from couples most often, and if yours isn't there, just get in touch with me directly.

Our relatives come from a miners' settlement, the groom's friends from Duisburg: will both sides find their songs?

I start with tracks that people of all ages and backgrounds know, and watch who gets up first. After that I let the selection grow in the direction that works. What must not be played under any circumstances, you enter in the portal beforehand.

We would like to toast with sparkling wine in the park and then dance in the hall: how does the music keep flowing between indoors and outdoors?

Outside, a small cordless setup for quiet tracks is enough for me. Once everyone is in the hall, I move over, and the music picks up there again without a break.

Our hall is large and high, and some guests sit a long way from the DJ desk: will those at the back hear just as well?

During the soundcheck I walk through the empty room and check the sound in several places, including the last row. Then I set the speakers so that nobody at the front gets blasted and nothing is missing at the back.

We want to get married in Moers at Whitsun, while the festival is on: is that a problem for the date?

For me, Whitsun is a normal date, but popular weekends go early. Send me your preferred date, and you will hear the next day whether it is free; on request I will hold it for you without obligation.

A friend from the choir wants to sing us a song, and Uncle Heinz is giving a speech: how do you fit that in?

Tell me the running order in advance, and I will plan the microphones, the music breaks and the restart. The singer rehearses briefly with the sound system so that the performance works for you.

Several families we know are bringing small children who need to go to bed early: can the evening be planned around that?

Then I schedule tracks that children know early on and push the late party back. We settle which times apply for you beforehand in the video call.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

If you would like real live music at the reception or ceremony, I bring in a saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin from my network. We agree on the best moment for the performance well before the celebration.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

On an evening outdoors, a saxophone sounds warm and soft while the guests stand together with a glass of sparkling wine.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

After dessert, percussion adds drive to the beat, and the dance floor often fills up by itself.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

A live singing voice gives the celebration a touch of a concert, and later the microphone can also pass into your guests' hands.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

For your entrance, a violin provides a festive opening that your guests will not forget in a hurry.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

Party classics like Ballermann, après-ski and schlager hits?
I'm happy to play the odd one of those when the mood is right.
Building the whole evening on them, though, isn't for me.

There are other DJs who love doing exactly that, and do it well.
They are the right choice for it.
    I have nothing against them.
    It's just not my thing.

My field is live mixing at demanding events.
For guests who see music as a craft.
    Clean transitions.
The right track for the right moment.
    More than just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you, I'm not the right DJ, and that's perfectly fine.
If it does, I'm looking forward to meeting you.
