I'm Michael Zimmermann, and I mix the music for your wedding in Solingen. At the reception it should carry conversation, and for the first dance I make you want to step onto the floor. Wedding venues in Solingen
Whether it's a castle, a factory hall or an inn in the Wupper valley: thick walls, brick and half-timbering change the sound, which is why I ask about the venue first. I'll show you five venues so you can see how different a wedding in Solingen can look: a castle on a rocky spur, a factory hall in Wald, a half-timbered inn, the theatre and concert hall, and a forge on the Müngstener Brückenweg. How my equipment fits into each venue, we'll work out together.
In Solingen you can celebrate high above the Wupper in a castle, in a brick hall in Wald or in a half-timbered inn, and hardly two of these rooms sound alike. That is why I only choose speakers and placement once I know the venue, the number of guests and the layout.
Between painted castle walls a bass sounds different than in front of bare brick, and I also adapt the lighting to the room in question. My setup takes a good 40 minutes, and at the end I play a test track.
The spur castle above the Wupper was rebuilt from 1890. For celebrations, the castle rents out the knights' hall (up to approx. 150 people) and the Kemenate after opening hours; catering is handled exclusively by the venue's own restaurant. You will find out there which dates are free, and after that I plan speakers and dance floor.
The former factory building lists wedding celebrations among its occasions. Hall 1 has brick walls and timber beams and is rated for up to 250 guests, plus there is a lounge with a bar and a stage. The venue will tell you whether your date is free; how my system works alongside the house equipment, we clarify beforehand.
This traditional Bergisch inn in a half-timbered house lists weddings among its occasions. The rooms are meant for about 15 to 80 people, a garden is included, and they are largely step-free. The operator can tell you about free dates, and I choose the system to suit the size of the room.
By its own account, the building from 1963 rents out rooms and foyers for celebrations. The Kleine Konzertsaal holds up to 200 guests at banquet tables. Whether a wedding celebration is possible there, you clarify with the venue; with halls of this type we talk about acoustics and placement early on.
The venue on the Müngstener Brückenweg divides its site into event and craft. Which rooms are available for weddings and how many guests fit in, you will learn from the operator; after that I decide where the system and dance floor go.

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.
Who I am
Couples who marry in Solingen often invite families from Wald, Ohligs, Gräfrath and the surrounding area, and each brings its own taste, which I ask you about beforehand. So that everyone finds something for themselves, I cut tracks from several decades into my own edits.
You enter your favourite song and your no-gos in advance, and on the evening nobody notices how precisely everything was planned. We go through the menu, speeches and schedule beforehand; if you like, you can talk the day through with me once more by phone a week before.
How it works
Tell me the date and venue and I will get back to you the same day. In a video call we go through the schedule, and with the venue I coordinate setup and power.

After booking, the wedding portal opens, a web app for requested songs, no-gos, special moments and schedule. About seven days before the celebration we speak by phone and go through the day calmly.
On the wedding day I arrive at the venue in good time, set up in a good 40 minutes, check the empty room and coordinate with the speaker, the photographer and the service staff. If there are stairs or narrow access routes, we plan the route for the equipment with the venue beforehand.
The entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit are accompanied by the pieces you have chosen. At the reception, quiet music plays that gets conversations going.
During the meal I keep the music in the background; a wireless microphone is ready for speeches, and for games, surprises and the bouquet toss I choose a separate track each time.
Your requested edit opens the dancing. After that I watch the floor and change the set bit by bit, until young and old celebrate the last track together.

I mix soul, disco, pop and chart hits in the proportion your guests respond to; I do not work from a rigid track list.
I allow a good 40 minutes for setup and soundcheck, the system needs about 2.5 by 1.5 metres, and after the last track I pack everything up myself. About 2.5 m in width and 1.5 m in depth are enough, and under normal conditions (car close to the setup spot, no stairs or lifts) setup takes around 40 minutes.
Outdoor
A spot outdoors without a power socket is no problem either: for the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit, the music runs on battery.
Photo station, live music, uplights and audio guest book can be added, and I take care of the arrangements.

+49 176 700 580 27Brick and high ceilings often make the sound harsh, whereas a full hall absorbs a lot, and I check that on site. In the empty room I test where the speakers work best and set the level so that speeches stay clear and the dancing still has punch.
I start with tracks that almost every age group knows and get bolder as soon as the dance floor fills up. It doesn't matter to me who comes from where, what counts is the reaction in the room. You note down your favourite songs and anything that must not be played in advance in the portal.
If the venue's own equipment is suitable, I'm happy to use it and mix through it. If it isn't enough for dancing and volume, I bring my own console, speakers and wireless microphones. I clear this with the venue beforehand so that nothing is set up twice.
Send me the track in exactly the version you are practising. I edit the intro and length to fit your steps and start on your signal.
Feel free to write to me with your preferred date before you sign anything. I reply to your message on the same or the next day, including whether my calendar allows the date.
I carry the speakers in one by one, and together they take up barely more than 2.5 by 1.5 metres. Send me a few photos of the access, and we will plan the route to the dance floor beforehand.
