Wedding DJ Michael Zimmermann at the booth, ready for celebrations in Passau

Wedding DJ Passau · Events since 2004

Music for your wedding day in Passau, perfectly suited to your guests.

I'm Michael Zimmermann, a wedding DJ out of passion, and I'd like to carry your wedding in Passau musically. Since 2004, weddings have been a firm part of my profession: of around 1,450 events in over 25 years, more than 650 were weddings. I stay in the background, you celebrate, and the music does the rest.

Wedding venues in Passau

Weddings in Passau.

Before we plan, I read up on what the venues say about themselves, because room size and guest count decide how much equipment I bring for your wedding. Here you'll find six venues, from the country estate with a symbolic ceremony in the courtyard, through the banquet hall with a freight elevator, to the small wedding celebration on the riverbank, and for each of them I tailor the equipment and schedule to your day.

Between cathedral and Inn: wedding in Passau

Anyone who marries in Passau celebrates in an old town on a narrow peninsula between the Inn and the Danube, and I tailor my music to this backdrop. Your options include a venue with terraces high above the city, a hotel overlooking the Dreiflüsseeck, where three rivers meet, and a banquet hall with a freight elevator.

A large banquet hall needs a different setup from me than a small terrace, and room and guest count set the pace. If you have a theme, we'll talk about which music goes with it and what should never be played. I allow at least two hours so the equipment and sound are ready long before your first guest walks through the door.

Das Oberhaus

Oberhaus 1, Passau

The Oberhaus lists weddings among its occasions. According to the operator, separate halls can be used for small groups up to large parties, in summer people celebrate on the terraces, and the entire venue can be booked exclusively. Because the hall and terrace are separate, I'll clarify with you beforehand where my system stands and when it moves.

Altstadt-Hotel Passau

Bräugasse 23-29, Passau

The Altstadt-Hotel advertises getting married at the Dreiflüsse-Eck, where three rivers meet. According to the operator, the rooms including the panoramic terrace have space for up to approx. 100 people. For a party of this size, I set up my equipment compactly so the terrace and room fit together musically.

Redoute event halls

Gottfried-Schäffer-Straße 2, Passau

The Redoute lists weddings as one of its occasions. According to the operator, the Large Hall offers banquet seating for up to 235 people, the Small Hall for up to 100, and a passenger and freight elevator is available. The freight elevator gets my equipment to its spot easily, and I plan the system around the hall you choose.

Hotel Schloss Ort

Ort 11, Passau

Hotel Schloss Ort hosts small wedding celebrations. According to the operator, the rooms offer space for a maximum of 60 people, plus a sun terrace right on the bank of the Inn. In such a manageable group, I deliberately keep the setup small and work out with you where music is heard outside and where inside.

Gut Aichet

Aichet 1, Thyrnau

Gut Aichet in Thyrnau, in the area around the city of Passau, lists weddings among its occasions and, according to the operator, offers a symbolic wedding ceremony in the inner courtyard. Depending on seating, the estate barn takes up to 140 guests, the hunting lodge up to 50. I plan the system separately for the courtyard and the barn and clarify with you whether the music for the outdoor ceremony runs on battery.

Gasthof Knott

Oberjacking 1, Tiefenbach

The Gasthof Knott in Tiefenbach, in the area around the city of Passau, lists weddings, birthday parties and anniversaries as occasions. According to the operator, the hall has room for more than 250 guests, and in summer people also celebrate in the beer garden. For a hall of this size, I plan for more power and lighting so the sound arrives in full even in the back rows.

What the venues state about occasions, halls and capacities, I took from their websites (as of October 2026). Whether your date is still available, the respective venue will tell you.

Symbolic wedding ceremony in Passau

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

According to the operator, Gut Aichet in Thyrnau offers the symbolic wedding ceremony in the inner courtyard, and we'll choose the music for your ceremony together well before the celebration.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

According to the tourist information office, Passau Cathedral houses the largest cathedral organ in the world, and for your wedding I wish you a sound that carries just as well. I've been behind the decks since 1998, the first years in clubs, and since 2004 at private and corporate parties. It has come to over 1,450 events for me, more than 650 of them weddings.

I make sure you can celebrate your most beautiful day together with family and friends. I stay in the background, because the music speaks for you. I cut my own edits so that songs from different decades flow smoothly into one another. I collect your wishes in advance, must-plays and no-plays included.

  1. Enquiry & first chat

When your enquiry reaches me, I will get back to you within a day. The video call to get to know each other is non-binding, we sort out the date, venue and first wishes, and then comes a quote tailored to you.

  2. Booking & portal access

Access to your personal wedding portal, a web app for favourite songs, no-gos, schedule and special moments, comes with the booking. A week before the celebration we go through everything important by phone.

  3. Set-up & sound check

At least two hours before it starts, I am already there quietly setting up the system. After the soundcheck and a word with the celebrant or photographer, everything falls into place so that your guests never notice the technology.

  4. Ceremony & reception

I provide music for the entrance, the exchange of rings and the exit as atmosphere, not as an official act. At the drinks reception your guests chat to subtle lounge music, and if there is no power anywhere, the system runs on battery.

  5. Dinner & programme items

Background music creates the atmosphere during the meal, and a wireless microphone makes every speech easy to understand. For games, surprises and the bouquet toss too, I prepare the right musical setting.

  6. Opening dance & party

The first dance plays to an edit that you choose. From then on I decide by feel and by the dance floor, adapt the set live and bring all generations together until the last song has played.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Passau want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call. All questions and answers →

+49 176 700 580 27
Will there be music for the toast outdoors, even if there's no power outlet nearby?

Yes, because my system runs on battery, and your toast outdoors sounds good even where there's no power. I'll ask the venue myself whether I can set up outside, so you don't have to deal with it. When planning, I treat the outdoor reception and the indoor celebration as one continuous evening.

Can you provide the music for our ceremony, even without a power connection on site?

For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit, the music runs on my battery, and no cable is needed. We'll pick out the pieces together beforehand so they fit your schedule. Whether a ceremony can take place at your chosen spot is best asked of the operator, because that's the venue's decision.

What gets Grandma and Grandpa onto the dance floor just like your friends?

During the evening I pay attention to who is dancing and who prefers to stay seated, and align the next songs accordingly. With my edits I link decades and styles so the jump from schlager to the charts goes unnoticed. You tell me your must-play tracks and your no-gos beforehand.

Can a musician with a saxophone perform at the sparkling wine reception without us hiring a full band?

Musicians from my network, for example with saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin, play live along with my mix on request. With me, the performance suits the sparkling wine reception, the ceremony or the opening dance. You decide in which moment it takes place in the preliminary conversation with me.

For a small celebration with 40 people, does your equipment make sense at all?

My standard package is designed for celebrations of up to around 100 guests, and with just 40 people it fits you exactly. A small room gets a leaner setup from me, because floor space and guest count matter more to me than the occasion. At my booth, a simple power outlet is all I need.

Our wedding falls in summer, location Passau: how early should we knock on your door?

Sought-after Saturdays between May and September often go many months in advance with me, so get in touch as early as possible. On weekdays or outside the season, a lead time of three to six months is usually enough for me, though an earlier message is still welcome. If your date is already close, ask anyway, because I'll tell you honestly whether I still have time.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

You can get saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin in Passau through my network. You decide in good time before the celebration at which moment the performance sounds, for example at the sparkling wine reception or only at the opening dance.

High above the old town or in the festive hall, a violin makes the dinner float and sets every toast off beautifully.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
