DJ Michael Zimmermann at his booth as a wedding DJ for the Königssee

Wedding DJ Königssee · Events since 2004

Music for your wedding day at the Königssee, tailored to your guests.

I'm Michael Zimmermann and I make sure your wedding at the Königssee sounds musically seamless. I've been playing at weddings since 2004, and of my more than 1,450 events in over 25 years, more than 650 were weddings. I stay in the background so your guests are at the centre and the music speaks for itself.

Venues for your wedding at the Königssee

Weddings at the Königssee.

For every wedding at the Königssee, I ask you and the venue about room, guest count and schedule, so my equipment fits exactly. Here I introduce five venues, from the inn on the lakeshore to the mountain restaurant, and for each room I plan equipment and setup to suit your celebration.

Between rock wall and lake view: a wedding at the Königssee

Only electric boats sail on the Königssee, and the trumpet echo resounds between the rock walls, a setting to which I tune the music of your wedding. Your choice ranges from the Gasthaus Unterstein with its large hall, via the Waldhauser Bräu with its divisible hall, to the Jenneralm high above the valley. I read the room and the guest count so that in the end you get exactly the sound that suits your venue.

The Gasthaus St. Bartholomä is mostly reached by boat, which is why I coordinate transport and setup early with you and the venue. If you want to celebrate in a smaller room like the Königszimmer, I reduce my setup and focus on clear transitions. At the latest two hours before the start I'm ready, set up in peace and check the sound for you.

Gasthaus Unterstein

Untersteiner Straße 11, Schönau am Königssee

The Gasthaus Unterstein lists weddings among its occasions. According to the operator, the large hall is approved for a maximum of 300 people and has a stage, projector and XXL screen. Where the stage and screen stand helps decide how I position the booth and speakers for you.

Gasthaus St. Bartholomä

St. Bartholomä, Schönau am Königssee

The historic Gasthaus St. Bartholomä stands on the lakeshore in the Berchtesgaden National Park and lists weddings as one of its occasions. According to the operator, the Königszimmer has room for up to 30 people and the Historic Halls for up to 250. Whether you celebrate small in the Königszimmer or big in the Historic Halls determines the size of my setup.

Waldhauser Bräu

Waldhauserstr. 12, Schönau am Königssee

The Waldhauser Bräu lists weddings and corporate parties as occasions. According to the operator, the large hall has room for up to 110 people, split into 70 seats in the main area and 40 in the side area. Because the hall can be divided, we'll discuss beforehand in which area the dance floor and booth should go.

Jenneralm at the Jennerbahn mountain station

Schönau am Königssee

The Jenneralm at the mountain station of the Jennerbahn lists wedding parties as an occasion and, according to the operator, has a wedding room of 70 m². The venue gives no guest count for wedding parties, so you check the size directly with the Jenneralm beforehand. Then I tailor my setup to this room for you.

Seerestaurant Echostüberl

An der Seeklause 41, Schönau am Königssee

The lakeside restaurant Echostüberl also mentions weddings in its reservation notes. According to the operator, the dining room has 110 seats. I plan the booth and speakers to suit the dining room as soon as you've clarified with the venue how your evening there should run.

I took rooms, capacities and occasions from the venues' websites, as of October 2026. Before booking, you should check with the respective venue that everything is still correct.

Symbolic wedding ceremony in Königssee

I provide the music for your symbolic wedding ceremony, from the entrance through the ring exchange to the exit, with a sound system that runs without a power outlet, indoors or outdoors, and I bring a wireless microphone for your celebrant.

Who I am

Servus, that's me, Micha.

Between the steep rock walls at the Königssee the trumpet echo resounds, and your wedding there is welcome to carry just as far. For me it started in 1998 in clubs, where I learned to bring people together with music. Since 2004 I've been playing at private and corporate celebrations, over 1,450 events, more than 650 of them weddings.

I stay in the background and let the music speak, so you have moments that stay with you. My own edits lead songs into one another without you hearing the change. Your family and friends should celebrate together, and I tune the music to your guests.

How it works

From your enquiry to the last hour of your wedding in Königssee.

Your message reaches me, I get back to you the same or the next day, and then come the video call, detailed planning and setup up to the opening dance. Read the whole process →

  1. Enquiry & first chat

Your enquiry reaches me, and I get back to you by the next day. In a casual video call where nobody is trying to sell anything, we talk about the date, lakeside or mountains and your wishes, and then there is a quote.

  2. Booking & portal access

Once you have booked, your wedding portal goes online: a web app where requested songs, no-gos, the schedule and special moments find their place. Around a week before the celebration, we speak by phone and go over everything once more.

  3. Set-up & sound check

I arrive for setup at least two hours before the start, even if the venue is by the water or in the mountains. The sound check and briefing with the celebrant or photographer follow, and then the equipment stays invisible to all guests.

  4. Ceremony & reception

I fine-tune the music for the ceremony: quiet for the entrance, solemn for the exchange of rings, festive for the exit. At the drinks reception by the water, lounge music encourages conversation, and thanks to battery operation, I need no mains power for it.

  5. Dinner & programme items

A calm carpet of sound lies over the meal, and your guests give speeches at the wireless microphone. Everything else, meaning games, surprises and the bouquet toss, gets fitting music from me as its setting each time.

  6. Opening dance & party

What begins as an opening dance to your chosen edit turns into a party for everyone. I keep an eye on the dance floor and adapt my set continuously, so that young and old dance together until the finale.

At wedding tables several generations usually sit together, and that's why soul classics and current charts share the same evening with me. For you, the music stays a continuous thread that I hold in my hands from the first conversation to the end.

Frequently asked questions

What couples in Königssee want to know.

These are the questions couples ask me most often, and if yours is missing, just give me a call. All questions and answers →

+49 176 700 580 27
What can we expect sound-wise if we toast outdoors at the Königssee, and what do you bring for it?

My equipment runs on battery power, so a reception under the open sky doesn't fail with me because of a socket. For the spot outside I coordinate with the operator beforehand, so you aren't affected. After that the music moves seamlessly indoors for you, so terrace and hall together make up one single evening.

Can you accompany the entrance and ring exchange musically?

For the entrance, the ring exchange and the exit I don't need any cables, because my system runs entirely on battery. We'll choose the pieces together in advance so they fit your schedule. How much room the ceremony gets at your venue is something the venue operator can tell you.

How do we get grandparents and friends dancing together?

I watch all evening who is heading for the dance floor and who is staying at the table, and I adapt my selection accordingly. In my edits, eras and genres flow together, so there is no seam between schlager and today's charts. Beforehand, you tell me which songs must be played and which ones you don't want to hear.

Can we book a saxophonist for the reception without needing a whole band?

A saxophone player over my set is no problem. I arrange one from my network, just like vocals, percussion or violin. It works especially well at the reception, during the ceremony or for the opening dance of your celebration. We'll agree on the exact timing together in advance, right in our first conversation.

Is your equipment enough for a small celebration with 40 guests?

My standard setup is enough for celebrations with around 100 guests; a group of 40 fills it easily, so you don't need anything smaller. In small rooms I set up more compactly, because floor space and guest count determine my equipment, not the occasion. For my booth, a single power outlet within reach is enough.

Our celebration is in summer by the water: how early should we get in touch?

Summer weekend dates, especially Saturdays, are often booked a year to a year and a half in advance, so it's better to contact me early. If you choose a weekday or months outside the summer, a lead time of three to six months is usually enough for me. Even a late date is worth a message; I'll tell you openly whether there is still a slot in my calendar.

Even more options

DJ+ – live musicians right inside my mix.

I arrange saxophone, vocals, percussion or violin for your wedding evening from my network. We'll discuss with you in good time before the celebration which moment suits the performance best.

Saxophonist in warm backlight 01

Sparkling wine reception · First dance

DJ + saxophone

Against the wall of the Alps and still water, a saxophone makes the drinks reception sound both dignified and warm.

Percussionist on congas in backlight 02

Party peak · energy on the dance floor

DJ + percussion

A warm drum rhythm after dinner draws the wedding party out of the mountain calm and makes the dance floor the centre of the evening.

Singer with a microphone in backlight 03

Entrance · special moments

DJ + vocals

On the lakeshore, live vocals at the first dance stir an echo of emotion that deeply touches your guests and stays with them for a long time.

Violinist in warm backlight 04

Ceremony · bride's entrance

DJ + violin

The view of the Alps and the sound of a violin complement each other at the ceremony, as the tone feels like a quiet echo of the mountains and makes the moment tender.

Band with a singer and musicians as silhouettes in the stage lighting 05

An evening without a break.

First the band, then the beats

Live music for the reception or dinner, and then a full DJ night anyway? Through my network I can arrange a well-rehearsed band, from a duo to a quartet, with vocals, guitar, piano, percussion or saxophone. Because everything is planned by one person, there is one point of contact, one sound concept and no gap between band and DJ.

Who i'm not the right DJ for

    Ballermann, après-ski, schlager hits?
A few songs here and there if it suits the mood – no problem.
But build a whole evening on them? That's not my thing.

There are DJs who can and want to do that.
    There are specialists for it.
    Nothing against them.
But it's not what I do.

I'm a specialist in live mixing at demanding events.
For people who understand that music is a craft.
    Precise transitions.
The right track at the right moment.
    Not just pressing play.

If that doesn't suit you – then I'm not the right person. And that's okay.
If it does – I'd love to.
