My name is Michael Zimmermann, I have been working as a party DJ for years, and I shape your birthday in Regensburg musically live, tuned to the people celebrating at your side. More than 25 years ago I stood behind the decks for the first time, since 2004 I have provided the music at private parties, and more than 1450 events have trained my feel for moods. I hold back while doing so, because the music should carry your evening.

Celebrations in the World Heritage city
Traditional inn parlours, hotel halls and beer gardens sound very different, and what I take from that for my work feeds into the planning of your party. For your birthday I have picked five venues: a brew house with a castle park, a hotel with a view of the bridge and cathedral, another hotel, a brewery inn and a castle garden.
For your birthday in this town on the Danube you can choose between a traditional inn parlour, a beer garden and a hotel hall, and every room sounds different. From a small circle around the table to a large party, I adjust my system to the number of your guests.
My compact set also plays without a power socket, because a battery carries it through your party, whether in the living room or in your own garden. Where I get power, how much set-up time I need and how I get into the house, we discuss beforehand, so that you can celebrate on the day without stress.
The Brauhaus am Schloss lists birthdays as an occasion alongside company parties, corporate events and weddings. According to the operator, the traditional inn has about 300 seats, and a festive dinner indoors is possible for up to 200 people. For a venue of this size, I plan the set-up and sound together with you, so that the music reaches every table.
The SORAT Insel-Hotel names birthday party alongside wedding, Christmas party and anniversary as an occasion. According to the operator, parties of up to 250 people are possible, and the rooms overlook the Steinerne Brücke and the cathedral. Depending on the size of your crowd, I choose a compact or a more powerful system and clarify the set-up with the house in advance.
The Hotel Herzogshof lists birthdays alongside anniversaries, weddings, family parties and corporate parties as an occasion. According to the operator, the Herzogssaal measures 190 square metres and has room for 160 people at a standing reception and 130 at a banquet. For this hall I plan the sound and positioning so that your party hangs together sonically from the reception to the dancing.
The Brauereigaststätte Spitalgarten lists birthdays alongside weddings, anniversaries and family and company parties as an occasion, and has a beer garden. How many guests you expect, we discuss in the initial chat. Whether indoors or in the beer garden, I bring the equipment that suits your group.
The Prüfeninger Schlossgarten lists birthday party as an occasion alongside wedding, company party, Christmas party and anniversary. How many guests you invite, we discuss in our first chat. Afterwards I tailor the equipment and layout to your group and clarify the set-up with the venue in advance.

Who I am
The Ostentor in Regensburg, built from 1284, is the only completely preserved town gate and is still driven through daily today, I hope there is a similar amount going on at your party. I have been behind the decks since 1998, first in clubs, from 2004 mainly at private and business parties, at more than 1450 events.
I stay in the background, the music speaks, and I watch what draws your guests onto the dance floor. My self-cut edits turn songs from different decades into an evening for guests of every age. Tell me your favourite songs beforehand, the rest I do by feel, so that your evening flows.
How it works
Send me the date and place of your celebration, and within a day you will get a reply from me. After that come a video call, the set-up and your party, and I am personally reachable for you if you have questions. See the whole process →
Request a dateSend your enquiry and wait a moment: I will get back to you within 24 hours. In the video call we get to know each other, you tell me about the planned celebration, and afterwards you receive an offer from me.
Once you have booked, you get my private number for WhatsApp messages. About seven days before it all starts, the two of us go through every detail: songs you want to hear, no-gos and the schedule.
I take care of the setup and soundcheck myself, one to two hours before your celebration begins. We briefly coordinate, you or the venue tell me what matters, and for the guests everything happens invisibly.
Guests arrive, conversations begin, and gentle lounge music plays in the background. The birthday guest of honour and every special moment get the right musical introduction from me.
No item on the programme should get lost musically: during the meal I provide atmospheric music, speeches and announcements go through the microphone, and games, surprises and the cutting of the cake each get their own sound.
From the first dance to the last song, I set the pace for you. I read the dance floor, adapt my set live to the guests and bring all generations together.

My set for your birthday is created especially for you, whether at a small table or among the whole family, and I keep shaping it throughout the evening. Songs across the decades and a feeling for the right moment get even the reserved ones onto the dance floor. A slideshow or a speech is my cue to pull the music back and raise it again afterwards. When the birthday guest of honour is the centre of attention, I reflect that in the sound straight away.

I place today’s hits next to songs from the seventies, eighties and nineties, and you are welcome to send me your request list before the party, without a rigid sheet of paper ruling at the decks.
At least two hours before the start I have my equipment set up and check the sound in the room; I do the tear-down alone afterwards.
Whether uplights, photo station, live music or the audio guest book get added is entirely your decision, and I take care of all the coordination.

I set up so compactly that your venue keeps its charm. Who wants to dance at your party and who would rather chat at the table, I notice quickly and react accordingly.
Of course, I will put a wireless microphone out for you, and when you speak is up to you. For that I fade the music down and then back up. Whether I should also take over announcements, we will discuss beforehand.
I take spontaneous requests all evening long, and you don't have to fill anything out beforehand. If a song feels out of place at the moment, I play it a little later. Your list serves me as a basis and never becomes an obligation with me.
For milestone birthdays in established venues I'm often booked months in advance, so please write to me early. Send me your date, I'll usually reply the same day and tell you whether that date is free with me. If your celebration is already coming up, it's best to pick up the phone and call me directly.
Yes, I get you saxophone, violin, vocals or percussion from musicians I know, and they play live to the songs I play. At which point of your evening a performance adds the most, we discuss in our first chat.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
