This is Michael Zimmermann, and for your birthday in Kempten I put the mix together live, track by track to your guests' taste. I made my first mix more than 25 years ago, since 2004 private parties have been part of my daily life, and more than 1450 events have taught me to sense early where an evening wants to go. What matters to me is you and your crowd, I hold back, and the music plays the leading role.

Venues in Kempten and the surrounding places
I know parties in traditional inns, halls and barns, and what I have learned there helps you with planning your birthday. For your birthday I have picked out six venues for you: a farm with a barn, two large halls for many guests, event rooms with space for 130 people, a gallery, a festival barn and a room for private celebrations.
If you're planning your birthday in Kempten, you can choose between a barn, a gallery, event rooms and a large box. According to the operator, the venues there hold between 80 and 570 people, and I size my system to suit your guest count.
If you celebrate in the garden or at home, I bring a compact system that needs no mains power thanks to its battery. Whether festival barn, gallery or living room: my system adapts to the room, and you do not have to worry about any equipment. We discuss power and set-up time with you beforehand, so you can celebrate in peace on the day.
The Michlhof lists birthdays as an occasion on its operator's website. According to the operator, the barn holds up to 160 people, the Michlstube up to 100. I align my system accordingly, depending on whether you celebrate in the barn or in the smaller parlour.
The bigBOX lists birthday parties among its occasions. According to the operator, the kultBOX holds up to 570 people, and the skyBOX on the top floor with a balcony up to 120. For a large group, I plan the set-up so that every guest hears the mix even at the back.
The Soloplan City Resort lists birthdays as an occasion. According to the operator, the event rooms offer space for up to 130 people. I bring my equipment to suit the room you choose and coordinate the set-up with the venue.
The restaurant lists birthdays among its occasions. According to the operator, the BARRIQUE on the gallery takes up to 80 people. With a gallery, I think with you beforehand about where the decks and speakers go, so your guests can dance well.
The Gauklerhof nearby, in Waltenhofen, lists birthdays as an occasion. According to the operator, there is room for around 100 people as well as a festival barn with a dance floor. The dance floor gives me the stage on which I get your guests moving.
The Kempodium rents out rooms for private celebrations and lists birthday parties as an occasion. According to the operator, the Eiche room with 115 m² is suitable for up to 100 people. In a room of this size a few speakers are enough for me, which I choose according to your number of guests.

Who I am
Since 1949 the Allgäuer Festwoche has taken place in August, and what is a regional fair there becomes a party at yours. Your birthday in Kempten will be smaller, but it will still be lively with me. My path behind the decks began in 1998 in clubs, and since 2004 I've been playing private and corporate parties, more than 1450 times.
I stay in the background, the music speaks, and you can look after your guests. My own edits let songs from different eras run into each other without a break. Tell me beforehand what makes you and your group happy.

Because WhatsApp is the shortest route, you receive my private mobile number after booking. A good seven days before the celebration we talk through the schedule, along with your requested songs and no-gos.
Everything is prepared before anyone arrives: between one and two hours earlier I set up the equipment, check the sound and coordinate with you and the venue. The guests do not notice any of this.
Lounge sounds in the background, short conversations, the first glasses: that is how your guests arrive. When the birthday guest of honour is there or a special moment awaits, I choose the right music for it.
Every part of the programme gets the right sound: quiet and atmospheric during the meal, clear through the microphone for speeches and announcements, playful for games, surprises and the cutting of the cake.
When dancing is allowed, I take over. I read the mood on the dance floor, adapt my set live and connect all generations until the last song ends.

+49 176 700 580 27I watch who among your guests wants to dance and who would rather stay at the table, and respond with the music. If the venue's system is good, I use it; otherwise I bring my own. For small groups I deliberately keep my set-up simple so your room keeps its cosiness.
A wireless microphone is ready for you, and you speak as soon as you feel like it. I also pass it on to you or one of your guests in the middle of the party. How much announcing you want from me otherwise, we clarify beforehand, usually I stay in the background.
I am happy to take your guests' requests spontaneously, you do not have to send me a list beforehand. If a requested song would slow the mood right now, I push it back and play it as soon as the group is open to it. For me your list is a framework, and I do not have to follow it line by line.
If you're planning a milestone birthday in a rented room, it's best to contact me half a year to a year ahead. Smaller parties can usually still be fitted in with four to eight weeks' notice, but I'm happy to confirm earlier. If your date is already close, pick up the phone and I'll check right away whether the day is still free with me.
A saxophonist I know personally can be booked in addition for you, he plays live over my music, and I put you in touch with him. If you would rather have a voice, a violin or percussion, I find the right musician for your party. In the preliminary talk we work out with you at which moment of the evening the performance has the most effect.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
