I'm Michael Zimmermann, a party DJ, and I mix your birthday at the Ammersee live, song by song, for the crowd that's celebrating with you. I started DJing more than 25 years ago, I've been behind the decks at private parties since 2004, and more than 1450 events have taught me to read the mood early. It's all about your evening, I stay in the background, and the music speaks for itself.

Celebrations by the lake and in the hinterland
From many parties in country inns, halls and hotels I know what matters at birthdays, and that knowledge goes into your planning. Seven addresses by the lake and in the hinterland are waiting for your birthday, from the Gartensaal in Herrsching to the Hofgut in Eresing.
When you plan a birthday by the lake, you often choose between a country inn with a traditional parlour and a venue with a terrace and a view of the Alps. The venues in the region differ a lot, some rooms hold 20 guests, others up to 190, and I set up the sound system for your number of guests.
For a celebration in your own garden or at home, I bring a small setup that even runs on battery without a power socket. Whether it's a vaulted hall, a garden room or your living room, I bring a system that suits the size of the space, and you don't have to worry about any equipment. Beforehand we sort out power, set-up time and the conditions on site, so that on the big day all you have to do is celebrate.
Birthdays are welcome at Seehof Ammersee, a hotel in Herrsching. Five rooms hold 15 to 120 guests, and there is also a terrace and a beer garden. I tailor the set-up to your room and your guest count.
The country inn KramerHof in Dießen suits birthdays in a smaller circle: the Maximilian room holds up to 40 guests, Ludwig and Studio take 20 each. A slim set-up is enough there, so there is still plenty of room to sit and dance.
The FISCHER restaurant in Stegen hosts birthdays as well as weddings and corporate parties. The restaurant takes up to 90 people, the Winterlounge at most 60. I adjust the sound and volume to the area you choose.
At the Seehaus Schreyegg in Stegen, the rooms range from the Fischerstube with up to 65 seats, through the Panoramasaal with up to 120, to the Salettl for up to 25 guests. We sort out which sound system suits which room before the party.
For birthdays, the Klostergasthof in Andechs offers the Gartensaal with its vaulted ceiling for up to 190 guests and the Kaminzimmer for up to 80. In the vaulted hall I place the speakers so that music and conversation don't compete.
The Gasthaus Seepost on the Ammersee hosts birthdays, and the terraces are well suited for an aperitif before the meal. It is best to briefly discuss the exact number of guests with the venue.
In Eresing you'll find the Hofgut Algertshausen, with bright rooms where up to 110 people can celebrate; a chapel and a large garden come with it. When the weather is nice, I move the music outside, and indoors it carries on more quietly.
I took the guest numbers and room sizes from the operators' websites, as of October 2026. Whether your preferred date is free is, in the end, for the venue to tell you.
Who I am
A birthday at the Ammersee: water, friends, music, and I provide the last of those. I have been mixing since 1998, first in clubs, and since 2004 for private and corporate celebrations, over 1450 times. I don't like standard playlists, I listen to what your group wants and respond to it. My transitions come from the club nights, and from many birthdays I know what gets guests of every age onto the dance floor.
My own edits link classics with current hits. Send me your favourite songs in advance and tell me what must not be played under any circumstances. That makes for an evening with lots of fun and little stress, where even the guests from the other shore are happy to stay.
How it works
Just tell me when and where you're celebrating, then I'll reply within a day, and after that come the video call, set-up and your party. In between, I'll answer every question personally. See the whole process →
Request a dateBecause I would like to get to know you first, we start with a short video call, which I offer you within a day of your enquiry. There you tell me what you are planning by the water, and afterwards I make you a quote.
After booking, WhatsApp becomes our line of contact, as you will get my private mobile number too. About seven days beforehand, we sit down together and sort out requested songs, no-gos and the schedule.
I arrive one to two hours early and set up the equipment, gladly outdoors by the water too. After the soundcheck, I coordinate with you or the venue.
On the shore, the reception sounds like relaxed lounge music in the background, so the guests can chat in peace. For the special moment or the birthday guest of honour, I choose the right song.
During dinner, fitting music plays, and for speeches, announcements and games I pick up the microphone. Surprises and the cake cutting are set to music, so that every moment has its frame.
When the dance floor is open, I take the wheel. I watch what moves people, adjust the set spontaneously and bring young and old together until the last song plays.

Whether it's a small table or a big family gathering, I build a set of its own for your day and keep adjusting it throughout the party. Songs from several decades and an eye for the right moment get even the last guests out of their chairs. My setup is ready before the first guest arrives, and because it is compact it fits into a living room or onto a terrace just as well. You do not need to hire a hall for it.

I'm there with the equipment at least two hours before the start and check the sound in peace; I do the tear-down on my own afterwards.
Whether uplights, a photo station, live music or an audio guest book are added is up to you, and I take care of all the coordination.

+49 176 700 580 27I can see who feels like hitting the dance floor and who would rather stay at the table, and I react to that while your evening unfolds. If the venue already has a good sound system, I'm happy to use it; otherwise I bring my own. For a small group I deliberately set up lean, so your room keeps its character.
A wireless microphone is ready for greetings, speeches and programme items, so you can speak whenever you like. I can hand it to you or to a guest at any time, even in the middle of the party. How much announcing you would like from me otherwise, we agree beforehand.
You can also shout music requests to me during the party, you don't need a form beforehand. If a track doesn't fit the mood right now, I'll make a note of it and play it at a better moment. Your list is my basic framework, but I don't follow it slavishly.
Milestone birthdays at a fixed venue are often booked 6 to 12 months ahead with me. More spontaneous parties often work with 4 to 8 weeks' notice too. If your party is coming up soon, pick up the phone and I'll tell you straight away whether I'm free on your date.
A saxophonist from my network plays live over my mix on request, and I put you in touch with him. Vocals, violin or percussion can be added too, depending on what suits your group. In our first chat we work out together at which point of the evening the performance has the most impact.

Transparency
A whole evening of nothing but Schlager and Ballermann, hour after hour? A few big crowd-pleasers in between, when the mood calls for it, belong to a good birthday party for me. Building a whole evening on them alone isn't my thing, though. I'm just as little the right person for non-stop techno sets without any contact with the crowd, for rigid request lists that get worked through from top to bottom, or for festival formats with several stages. There are other DJs who can do exactly that and love it, nothing against them, it's simply not my speciality.
My craft is mixing live for guests who want an evening with a feel for the moment: clean transitions, the right track at the right time, instead of just pressing play. That's why I'd rather tell you beforehand what I don't do than have you disappointed on the night.
